New thread needed! All runners welcome, whatever your pace or distance.
Cold icy run for me this morning, couple of exciting sliding episodes! Not a fan of the ice...

Nudged just over 5km today (bad patient!) - just to see what the impact is on my knee. If it seems ok then I'll add a small amount each week, and will keep to 3 days a week.....hopefully in a few months I can get back up to 10km+

Beautiful morning.

Did 5 miles on Sunday but my sore foot and ankle were a bit sulky about it so walked a fair few stretches and haven’t run since. However I have been to see the physio today and she gave it a good therapeutic pummelling (dear god, she was FIERCE) and says I can run so long as I listen to what it’s telling me and step back if it starts to complain too much - a grumble is fine, she says, but not more than that. I won’t be running tomorrow as I’m taking my bike for a service and by the time I’ve got there and back I don’t think I’ll have time to run (well, maybe just a little one), but the weekend is going to be mine! And she says the VLM is a realistic goal, so yay 😀 Cycled there as well, so at least I’m making my legs work a bit.

Hope your niggles clear up soon, @Spudlet.

You've reminded me I need to get my bike out....

Purpleraindeer · 17/03/2021 20:10

Your physio sounds excellent and a bit scary @Spudlet! Glad she sorted you out.

Sorry I realised I had forgotten to post. 2x easy runs and 1 hill reps to report. Finished the week with a super sore hip and was limping. Dr google diagnosed the need for glute strengthening which I’ve been doing and it is less sore now so I’m hoping it self heals Smile

Hope the physio works @Spudlet 👍

@Purpleraindeer I used to suffer from sore hips too and strength work deffo sorted them out 😀

6 miles today with 370m of ascent 😅

Got about 3 runs to add. Busy week and not had time to post.
Been keeping the runs short and feeling a lot more comfortable. Decided to try a longer run yesterday. Was all going very well until a small dog bit me on my leg. Thankfully it didn’t do much apart from being painful and left a mark. Did sour my mood somewhat.

@IRun4Me - I can’t believe you got bitten by a dog. Poor you. Did the owner say something stupid like ‘he’s only playing’? Bad dog owners drive me mad. I hope you got a profuse apology.

Lunchtime run for me today (always feel a bit guilty doing that but wfh has to have some advantages). Felt so much better and less tired than I did this time last week so that’s good as I’ve moved up to 5dpw runs so I think I’m starting to adjust to it Smile

Sorry to hear that @IRun4Me. I got bitten by a dog out running last year, luckily it nipped the pocket on the side of my shorts rather than me. It all happened so quickly I was just in shock and carried on.

Hilly cloudy run today

6 miles this morning, it was an effort.

10 miler last night and a 10km today. Did today’s as a progressive run working up to my old 10km pace (figured that counted as a gentle reintroduction to speed work)

Too longer hilly ru s this week. Wish I hadn’t challenged myself to run 200km in March at 114km so far.

Gorgeous run in the sunshine today, light on the blossom and spring in the air. Even the mud was settling into a dry flat path in most places. Knees and hamstrings seem happier though I am being careful not to overdo things and picking up my mileage gradually.

Nipping in to add my 3.5 miles.

Well that can't be a good sign, can it?!

UnaOfStormhold · 19/03/2021 19:16

Quick, someone else log a run...

PaddingtonPaddington · 19/03/2021 19:29

4 mile recovery paced trails in the sun. Lovely.

@50FootWave sorting out that total for you!

Spudlet · 19/03/2021 19:37

2 and a quarter miles for me today, running home from the school run. Nothing too extravagant, just seeing how my foot and calf felt (not too bad, all things considered). I will rest tomorrow then do a shortish one on Sunday, just three or four miles I think. See how it feels after that.

Phew, thanks, @PaddingtonPaddington!

emummy · 20/03/2021 11:20

Ran to Parkrun start today then ran round with friends, socially distanced of course. Really enjoyed it though it was a bit faster than I would have liked! Beautiful sunny day & arrived home to find husband making crepes, so it's officially a good day!

18 miles today. Was actually quite apprehensive beforehand but all my runs this week have been faster. Don’t worry I’ll be back to normal next week.

4 miles yesterday too. Since I don’t plan to increase weekly mileage, it means I’ve just got a token 2 mile recovery tomorrow. Can’t wait

5km spin with the dogs this morning, enjoyed despite one loooong gradual hill.....

Lots of lovely sounding runs on here.
Long run with some faster bits in it this week. Weather was a bit grey and bleak but still lovely to be out
