New thread needed! All runners welcome, whatever your pace or distance.
Cold icy run for me this morning, couple of exciting sliding episodes! Not a fan of the ice...

Great run and catch up with a friend.

@UnaOfStormhold I did exactly the same thing with a new water bladder, I didn’t realise you had to twist it round before you could suck the water out.

@IRun4Me phew, what a close shave!

Intervals today

5 mile lovely run cleared a headache.

Forgot to add my 3 yesterday.

@UnaOfStormhold I too had ‘technical issues’ with my hydration thingy until I worked it out Grin

My legs feel leaden today, I haven’t really cycled much since Christmas and now I’m back to hauling DS and his trailer bike to and from school everyday - and there is a Norfolk hill involved you know people from hilly places would pee themselves laughing at it

So just did 2 miles today and kept it very slow and steady with a fair few walk breaks - my foot hasn’t raised any complaints though so I’m happy with that. The forecast is for rain tomorrow which means we won’t cycle, I’m actually looking forward to the rest day Blush

Easy run for me this morning, should have been a hill session but feeling tired and a bit stressed about some of the patients I had booked for today, so went for a steady run with a few slow hills thrown in.
Enjoy your rest day @Spudlet!

Managed to squeeze 4 miles in between meetings this afternoon (camera firmly off afterwards).

Reminded me how much harder I find running in the afternoon to the morning. Hmm

2 mile run and a swim yesterday, either the tarn is getting warmer or I’m becoming more acclimatised!

@Iamblossom I’m thinking of heading out before work tomorrow. I normally run after work so I’m a little apprehensive about the early morning!! 😫

Tempo lunch run today. The sun was out so it was much warmer than I thought it would be and I completely overheated. Unfortunately had a zoom meeting afterwards and despite a quick cold shower I still had a beetroot face Blush

Realised I forgot to post my runs! Long run on Sunday and then nice easy run today
Feeling a bit tired today and supposed to do hills tomorrow. Early night tonight!

@Amaura - top work on the 50m weeks. How does that break down over the days? I’m going from 4dpw to 5dpw but still 50m is a bit of a stretch!

I’m proper beetroot face too! It’s so annoying!

My husband never gets it and looks great after a run!

50FootWave · 10/03/2021 09:55

Dropped the car off at the garge for the MOT this morning and ran the 4 miles back - a bit naughty going over what I'm supposed to be doing but it felt so good!

Lovely doing a different route, too, I must do that more often....

Another one here with a beetroot complexion, not helped with having a face the size and shape of the moon...

spudlet I live in a very flat area too. It’s amazing how you notice even the slightest bit of elevation. Also means there is nothing to stop the wind.
Had a very wet run this morning the wind kept blowing me sideways and the rain was horizontal. But after dealing with elderly parents and a teenager it was much needed and enjoyed.
I looked like a drowned rat to accompany my beetroot face.
I think I have a couple of runs to add

I’m lacking motivation this week due to the weather. It’s frustrating

Purpleraindeer · 10/03/2021 21:04

Weather was properly dreadful here. Respect to anyone who got out. Did my hill reps. They were horrible. But on the bright side I don’t have them again for a few weeks Smile

Annoy · 10/03/2021 21:06

Well done @Purpleraindeer just for getting out! But hills reps too! I need to start doing those 🙈

Amaura · 11/03/2021 07:33

There’s been a mileage mishap (twice actually, I think someone added an extra 100 and then someone else went back to prior that).

A massive 5km from me. It’s recovery week but two unexpected long work days means I missed a days run and when I did get out I felt terrible so kept it short. I actually enjoyed running in the wind mind. My cross training was quite brutal this week so hoping my energy levels perk up (along with a normal work day).

@Purpleraindeer I’ve slipped into a 6 day running schedule now (took two years to go from 4 to 6). Weekly mileage breakdown was 8/6/9/5/16/6 (with some movement around). I am doing an hour workout on Mondays and Thursdays as well as a Hiit on Tuesdays. I expect my time to drop as normal life resumes (children club runs especially returning to the climbing wall). I also do most miles after children are in bed.

However I’ve been unable to do speed work because of an injury, hence slower but more miles instead of lower mikes but higher quality.

emummy · 11/03/2021 09:08

Right I’ve been back through the posts and with my easy run this morning the total is

339.4

I hope!

An easy beach run 5 miles with a friend yesterday. A 71/2 mile hilly run today and feeling slightly annoyed as my Fitbit had a glitch and I was on track for averaging 9.5 minute miles instead it was just over 10!

Once children’s clubs resume it does become a bit more difficult.
Purpleraindeer well done for doing hill reps in the rain, wish I was more disciplined.

3 miles for me today in the wind. It’s blowing a hoolie here! Pushed myself a little pace wise so was pretty puce in the face when I got back.

PaddingtonPaddington · 11/03/2021 19:32

Definitely blowing a hoodie out there today @Spudlet.

Tempo 7 mile run today.

Amaura · 11/03/2021 22:35

Thanks @emummy. My working memory couldn’t handle the maths this morning

Well done @Borisjohnsonshairbrush what a fantastic achievement.

10 km today, still enjoying the wind and felt more back to normal as well.
