New thread needed! All runners welcome, whatever your pace or distance.
Cold icy run for me this morning, couple of exciting sliding episodes! Not a fan of the ice...

@Borisjohnsonshairbrush - well done! That’s a big milestone!

@Amaura - that is impressive commitment and consistency. It’s balancing the time around family life as well isn’t it? I’m thinking summer long evenings will help me

Easy run yesterday but didn’t feel easy and now I’ve got a cold so I think those things are related. I blame the kids and the return to school Grin

Well done @Borisjohnsonshairbrush, that’s a brilliant milestone! 👍

50FootWave · 12/03/2021 10:25

Fantastic @Borisjohnsonshairbrush and everyone else who is bossing those milestones.

I'm still on the 5km plan, but my knee is def improving. I'll sart to increase - slowly this time - at the end of March...

Well done on hitting double figures @Borisjohnsonshairbrush!
Glad your knee is improving @50FootWave.
Hill reps this morning as part of a hilly forest gun, beautiful day here, really enjoyed it.

Trail hilly half - it’s the route we’re hoping to put on as a race in June, so working out marshal placement and signage needs. It’s a tough one, glad I’m not racing it 😅

Plus a short one last night

(Just spotted a mileage mixup upthread so will come later with a calculator)

Long run today. Plan said to do it with some faster bits so that all went wrong and did the whole thing a bit fast and am tired now! Was blowing a Gale too!

Nice to run today with no wind! Hilly 10k and managed to do with an average of 9.6 minute miles, first time in a while. I do cheat slightly as the first 1 1/2 miles are down a steep hill.

Ridiculous windy run here too. Nearly gave up during the first mile but got the other side of the hedge and it wasn’t so bad. 12 miles today and 5 from yesterday’s trails.

Very windy here. I even got blown backwards at one point so decided to turn round. Thankfully the wind was then behind me and I virtually flew home. Even managed to get first place this year in one Strava segment Grin Doubt that will be repeated any time soon

Thanks, @emummy!

Am missing my weekly 10km but I'll build back up again soon enough.

emummy · 14/03/2021 10:15

Cold but sunny run along the river. Was planning a longer one but felt a little under the weather, so took a shorter easier route. Have seriously fallen out with my sports bra though, repeatedly chafing, so time to go shopping I think!
Anyway, first I will have a coffee and some of my Mothers Day cake!

6 miles in a big loop yesterday, benefited from the wind on the way out but omg had to battle through it on the way back....

Quick 3 with the dogs this morning.

26km run this week. Rest day tomorrow.

@emummy apparently my sons are making me a cake.... Should be interesting

Doublethecuddles · 14/03/2021 11:00

Happy Mother’s Day to you all.

We lost 10 miles somewhere but I couldn’t work out what miles a poster was trying to add. Rounding out recovery week with a bit under 5 miles.

I’ll just a token 10 mile to the total as well

Annoyingly I got a bit overenthusiastic in my leg exercises last week and somehow got a huge tense knot in my left hamstring which was too sore to run on for a few days. So that meant a bit of a slow start to the week and I was feeling a bit fed up about the string of minor niggles that I'd had which have really messed up my running over the last month or so, generally feeling my pace and fitness was tailing off. It was also just less fun, because rather than going out and enjoying running I was running carefully and always bit worried about not making my niggles worse.

Thankfully the tightness wore off, and I managed to run Friday and today with no pain and just a bit of post-run stiffness. I even managed to pick up the pace a bit for the parkrun bit of the route today and did my third fastest parkrun time, which gave me hope that my fitness hasn't evaporated entirely.

Early and mild run along the seafront this morning. So happy it's no longer in the dark, the skies have been so pretty this month.

Still on 5km max, but have signed up to Les Mills on demand, so can now add some strength sessions, too in the week.

Struggled with a 10km this morning, legs felt very heavy.

50FootWave I am really enjoying the longer days, I feel like I can start living again!

Enjoyed my 10km this morning, good to get out early and get it done. Was absolutely DRIPPING though, I'm a sweaty betty anyway but wow, didn't feel that warm but I was drenched.

Enjoyed my 80s Running Playlist too.
