DH and I have. Hoping it will keep me motivated and kickstart my half marathon training which has been non existent so far
Am aiming for a mix of gym, run, walk and cycle to get my target of being active every day and fingers crossed it's doable

Well done everyone. Great efforts all round!

I can tick off day 13 already. A 3 mile run done and dusted by 7:15am.
Now I won't run again until tomorrow lunchtime, a rest period of about 29 hours. Not that I'm counting or anything! Wink

I’m getting a bit fed up of my runs being cut short as I’m basically freaking out about running towpaths on my own.

I know I could join a run group or something but the times I’m available are so variable and last minute planning is virtually impossible.

A moany 3.2K today Sad

It all counts Herondale especially at any time beginning with 5 Shock
I'd need a nap by lunch.

Happy for you PaulHollywood!

Day 13 - quick mile round the block in the rain - pretty poor but done.

Got out at lunchtime to complete 3.5 miles. Glad I did as the weather has really got a bit wild this evening!

I overdid it yesterday (day 13), exercised for 4 h!
Today I just did a Pilates class :)

I think I over did it on sunday. My knee has been hurting.
So tonight I did 30 mins of pilates and then 30 mins of yoga

Day 15 done... halfway there!
46.3 miles done so far Grin

My biggest niggle so far is that I blistered my ankles on Monday in my trail shoes which I hadn't worn in yonks, so had forgotten that the ankles are wearing thin. It's been too muddy to go cross-country to actually use them all winter!

I've had two non-run days so far, both Sundays. One was a walk & yoga and the other I counted RDing at jnr parkrun as well as yoga. Friday will be a walk as I've got the osteopath in the morning and experience tells me that running after the osteopath is never pleasant Grin

Day 15 done ✅

3.2 miles round some residential roads in the dark after work. Had my DP with me to keep me company which was nice.
The inside of my left ankle started hurting towards the end of tonight's run, which I'm not happy about. Hopefully it's just a niggle and not the start of something horrible.

I hope your blisters clear up soon @ShinyGiratina

I went for a long walk in the sunshine this afternoon and enjoyed every second!

Ok back on form today.
I did 10 mins on the crosstrainer, 20 mins of weighed intervals, a spontaneous zumba class for 30 mins.
And I liked yoga so much yesterday I did 30 mins of that tonight. I picked the 30 days of yoga so... adding another little challenge to the list.
Top notch ladies. Proud of you all.
Hope the ankle is feeling better tomorrow @HoundOfTheBasketballs
And blisters suck @ShinyGiratina... not sure what makes them less painful other than plasters.

Day 15 completed ✅ 😀

30mins on the treadmill today followed by an hour of weights and felt pretty good.

Day 16 - done ✅

We now have less runs left to do than we have already completed! Yay!!

I managed just shy of 4 miles today. I had planned a longer run along the canal towpath but the path was flooded and I was forced to turn back and settle for a couple of laps of the park and a bit of housing estate. Bloody weather!

Still going here and feel great. Going for my runs even in the torrential weather and there's something great about it? Lol

PITY ME Sad

This was the point I came unstuck last year and I’m not going to let it happen again.

Pity today

A little trot tomorrow.

Pizza for tea :)

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut day and night nurse!!! Try it, it’s nothing short of miraculous!
Day 16 done ✅, went spinning. I love cycling, but I’m still not sure about spinning classes.

My ankles are attractively covered with a long strip of rocktape with a strip of cotton wool pad protecting the tender parts. I thought it would have better staying power against rubbing off and causing further problems like plasters often do Grin

More Home yoga with Adriene, and in HM trainining, I followed up my outdoor fitness class with a gentle, flat, slow 10k. It's been a busying about sort of day anyway, so my watch is claiming 20km of activity including things like school runs and Guiding.

Rest day tomorrow. Yoga, osteopath and hopefully a walk in the park after.

I'm feeling happier with Realistic Exercise Daily over Run Every Day. I am aiming to run most and do some outdoor activity each day which has been the reality in my last two years.

Day 17 - Done ✅
Tried to up the pace a bit today and managed 29:07 for 5K. I'm not breaking any records but I'm happy with that given the fact I haven't had a rest day in over 2 weeks.

Hope everyone else is powering on through.

Shiny I like the idea of 'realistic exercise daily' - makes a lot of sense. We're calling it 'Record Every Day' - in other words doing something that is worthy of putting my Garmin on for with a 1-mile brisk walk probably being the minimum.

@hobnobsaremyfave - sorry that you're feeling unwell, hope that you can shake off the bugs and get back to normal. It's so frustrating when you're trying to do something good. Thanks

Park run here too. Mine was a slippery icy muddy mess. Going up the hill on ‘grass’, ie so muddy you’re in danger of loosing your shoes. Going down the hill it’s on a cycle path, icy as anything.
Still, I think I’ve got a PB, my head was in the game :)
@hobnobsaremyfave get well soon Brew
@HoundOfTheBasketballs was it sunny though? I can do anything when it’s sunny!

Report
HoundOfTheBasketballs · 18/01/2020 13:37

It was beautifully sunny @BuddhaAtSea
But far too muddy for a PB here. Well done you!

Report
BuddhaAtSea · 18/01/2020 22:37

Thank you! Yup, I did get a PB. How, just how have I shaved nearly a minute in the worse conditions ever? The sun made all the difference I think.
Well done us all, it wasn’t for the faint hearted!
