DH and I have. Hoping it will keep me motivated and kickstart my half marathon training which has been non existent so far
Am aiming for a mix of gym, run, walk and cycle to get my target of being active every day and fingers crossed it's doable

Had a bit of a rest day yesterday but did my 10k steps and 60 active minutes instead.
And quick 1.2 miles today after swimming lessons & before tea.
It's not the will to do RED that's lacking, it's fitting it all in with children!

I much prefer running in the winter to the summer though. I like being tucked up in my long tights and buff in the deserted streets. I do however, stick to loops on a well lit estate & main roads.

HerondaleDucks · 06/01/2020 20:46

Proud of you all!!

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 07/01/2020 09:12

Walk to work done this morning and will obviously have to walk home later
Not sure if I'll manage anything else today but so far so good

In the gym at half 5. Did a 5000m row and an ab complex
Happy with that

Elbels · 07/01/2020 09:40

Me! I've done it the last two years and find it a great motivation to beat the January blues. I mix little runs with longer ones to hopefully avoid injury.

Karcheer · 07/01/2020 13:14

Jog done ✅

HoundOfTheBasketballs · 07/01/2020 14:58

Day 7 and therefore Week 1: Done ✅

Another 3 miles on my lunch hour at work. I'm really lucky that there are some lovely running routes close to my office, and showers on site to freshen up afterwards.

I've collated my stats for the first week as follows:

23.4 miles
3hours 55mins 19secs
2119 calories burned
699 feet of elevation (equivalent to running up the side of St. Paul's cathedral.

GroggyLegs · 07/01/2020 18:31

Day seven/week 1 ✔️
2 miles in the dark after work.

Miles run this week: 13.1
Additional loads of washing due to lack of kit: feels like 64

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 07/01/2020 19:01

Well done all of team Red
On week done

18.6miles and one yoga class.
So impressed with us. I’m trying Tai Chi tomorrow - anyone tried it?
will do my daily jog too afterwards.

RomaineCalm · 07/01/2020 19:34

Just went for a walk this evening but Day 7 completed. Smile

19.5 miles this week with a combination of walking and very, very slow jogging.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 07/01/2020 20:48

Poor DH I s getting competitive and as he drives to work he just went out and did some sprints round the block for 15 minutes and had come back looking somewhat sweaty 🤢
This is definitely motivating Grin

Day 8 done, 38min jog and the tai chi class, which I loved, lots of older ladies but I liked it, something different 🙂

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 08/01/2020 18:42

Walked to and from work
So that's 4K in total
And then despite it pissing down just done a 3.5k run
This is starting to kickstart my half training hugely and I wouldn't be out on a night like tonight ordinarily
And I weirdly enjoyed it Grin

HoundOfTheBasketballs · 08/01/2020 19:30

Well done @hobnobsaremyfave!
I've just been out for a run in the rain too. Although I prefer it mild and rainy to dry and freezing if I'm honest.
Another 3 miles. Day 8 - done.

ShinyGiratina · 08/01/2020 20:03

The aches are settling now although I did crash out on the sofa by 9:30 last night Grin

Day 8: Yoga with Adriene (today's Home session, and Stretch was a great way to start the day. 30 day shred, followed by a 5k run. My legs feel empty, but part of that was that I seem to have ended up drifting in to a fast day when I wasn't rushing straight back into 5:2.

Day 7 was another Adrienne yoga and an outdoor fitness class.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 08/01/2020 20:12

Well done all of you

Day 8 completed here. Half an hour on the treadmill at the gym and an hour of weights. Actually came away feeling pretty good.

Strangely satisfying being able to tick off the first day of Row 2 on the RED calendar - I've never done this before but hoping I can see the month out now that I've started.

HerondaleDucks · 09/01/2020 10:08

Day 8 done. Leg day at the gym. Totally overslept yesterday so had to go in the evening when it was super busy

Arms today at my normal 5.30.
Day 9 done.
Absolutely loving all the ticks on my chart.

Karcheer · 09/01/2020 12:32

Day 9 : done ✅ did a Tabata class.

HoundOfTheBasketballs · 09/01/2020 15:24

Day 9: done ✅

Five mile run along the canal in my lunch hour. Unfortunately I didn't make it back before it started pissing it down with rain and I got absolutely drenched!

HoundOfTheBasketballs · 09/01/2020 15:25

How's everyone feeling? I thought I'd be knackered and aching all over by now but I feel surprisingly okay.
I think I'm sleeping better at night and I can't stop eating but they're the only noticeable changes so far.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 09/01/2020 17:40

Walked to work this morning and off to my dance class tonight for a bit of exercise variety Grin

OP posts:
CantstandmLMs · 09/01/2020 18:04

Bodypump this morning, lots of laps of the school field whilst waiting at school today and still planning my couch to 5k run this evening week 2 run 3.

Karcheer · 09/01/2020 19:21

@HoundOfTheBasketballs I’m feeling fine, but I think I’ll hurt tomorrow, the Tabata class is evil.
