Everyone else has written for the week so don't know which is jan or Feb, so may be higher. My friend was 50 today, she decided to have a 5k time trial instead of a party so we all ran and had cake, tea and coffee afterwards. Couldn't do long run yesterday as my, friend was busy so we ran their which was supposed to be 6-7miles, ended up 8.7 and I'm pretty sure I did a sub 29min 5k at the end. Gorgeous day here after the initial fog lifted!

February? You would think I'd have noticed the long awaited payday!!

AuntieStella · 06/02/2017 10:15

I tried a gentle run this morning (aiming for steady pace, short walking break every half mile) but my ankle started feeling warm in the second half mile so I cut short.

43.68

I might try again on Friday.

KeyserSophie · 06/02/2017 10:22

I'm back from 9 days skiing in which I did zero running. Took my trainers, intending to do 2x 10k on treadmill but didn't get close to happening. Also didnt ski v hard and drank a lot of that delicious ski hut hot chocolate that has about a zillion calories (you can tell because when you drain it there's a layer of sugar left on the bottom of the mug)

Got back this morning, so went out late this afternoon for a quick run. Was a weird mix of fresh legs and post long haul bleugh.

Tokyo marathon is 19 days away- arrrrgggghhhh!

Very wet & muddy easy run in forest, managed all the lovely hills!

6.7k warm up run to track followed by another 6.7k of the hell that is track. I've kind of decided not to go anymore. It casts a shadow over my whole life Grin. Just going to find a circuit class instead

Sounds good Keyser, no point making yourself miserable!

cinnamongreyhound · 08/02/2017 12:44

Usual Tuesday night run yesterday, so glad today is a rest day. Wish it would hurry up and get light now, fed up of dark runs Sad 70.5

Bimble through the woods for me this morning. Does anyone else ever get a weird spacey feeling when they start out (almost like your limbs dont belong to your body) that then goes as their metabolism warms up, or is it just me?

emummy I signed up for a trial at the circuit place Grin. The problem with me is that I want to get better but I also like doing what I feel like in terms of running, so I don't train optimally- way too many "medium sized" easy runs, not enough LSRs and tempo. It's maybe time to make peace with that though. I'm never getting paid for this, right?

keyser I know exactly what you mean on both counts! I feel like a drunk fraggle for a mile, then like I've been on 60 fags a day for the 2nd mile, before its ok!

emummy · 09/02/2017 11:34

If only we did get paid Keyser! Good luck with the circuits.
Freezing cold run this morning, snow flurries and managed to put my foot in a deep and very cold puddle!

Sounds interesting KeyserSophie but no I don't, I just feel crap for the first mile!

We had snow while running this morning too emummy.

Beautiful sunny day in HK (we could actually do with some rain- the reservoirs are so low atm) so went out this afternoon for a couple of hours with my music. DC have friends round so avoided the mayhem Grin

cinnamon I think I mainly get it when I haven't eaten enough carbs so my glycogen stores are low. Now there's an excuse to eat cake!

Chilly run in sleet, at least the paths were clear after yesterday's heavy snow.

Lovely long run today, added on a new bit to my route, the distance is going up!

cinnamongreyhound · 12/02/2017 18:43

You don't really need an excuse to eat cake KeyserSophie but that sounds like a good one!

Well I ran parkrun Saturday but ended up on my own and I'm really struggling with something with my stepson so I ended up crying and walk/running the last 1/2 miles.

Had a snowy long run this morning which felt easier than last week but I did stop and walk as soon as I reached 12miles Blush

Oh no cinnamon- sorry to hear that. I do find the tears come a bit more easily when running and can be quite cathartic, but then it becomes hard to breathe. I hope your LSR was happier. I've been a bit jealous seeing these snowy runs on FB.

Just 3.3 from me. I got DH to drop me off on the way back from the kids rugby and I went back home over 3 hills with a combined ascending step count of 2,600 and a few short scrambles for a bit of a cardio blitz. Fair to say my quads were a bit burny by the end.

emummy · 13/02/2017 09:45

Hope you get things sorted cinnamon.
Up horribly early to fit in a run before Dh headed off to London, as kids on half term. Got home, waved him off, had a shower and went back to bed! Feel much better now!

Hope you feel better soon Cinners. Running is very cathartic, that's why I've been doing a lot recently.
Not long to the marathon now Keyser!
109.4 miles to add for February so far, it's getting noticeably lighter here in the evenings so much nicer to run. Going to start racing again on Sunday, it will be the first race since September when I pulled a muscle in the HM.

First run in over two weeks due to illness and no childcare, great to be back out Smile

stilllearnin · 13/02/2017 21:08

dedication emummy!!! A nice run on Saturday but struggling to fit more in before HM on Saturday. I may need to take a leaf out of your book.

Hope things settle down for you Cinnamon I can't run when I am sad or troubled. Grumpy or angry is a different matter though!!
