I hope you can find me! I went to post in the old thread but it had reached its limit.

Here's to an energetic, fit, healthy, and strong summer ahead.

Roman have you tried some of Joe Wick's recipes? I have been making them and enjoying my meals so much, I haven't really had the urge to eat rubbish. I've found eating more protein has helped.
Reastie, I am also scared of resistance bands!
Hope you can get a run in soon!
I went bed at 9pm last night. I was so tired. I left the workout till late afternoon which helped. I think I am going to try a mix of early and late workouts..all this early getting up is making me tired

Reastie · 26/01/2017 20:37

Disappointed early getting up would get me tired too. This week feels like it's been a long week! Well, I managed my 10k today, hurrah. Super proud of myself as it was freezing cold and I felt a bit perculiar half way through and nearly gave up but didn't. Managed it in 1 hour 3 minutes which I'm really pleased with, especially because I walked for a couple of minutes or so when feeling weird. My next aim is to get a 10k to under an hour.

Purpleraindeer · 26/01/2017 20:51

You got out for a run today reastie? Well done - it was bitterly cold here - no way could I have braved that. I bet you felt great when you got back.

I was smirking at our various band accidents - who knew resistance bands and pull up assists were so lethal?!

Did triometrics tonight. Was a proper leg burner. I do miss the cardio but I know it's a good workout. I get frustrated with all the breaks for Tony's chat tho. Am sure it could be done much quicker.

disappointed101 · 26/01/2017 22:16

Well done Reastie! That is super! Purple have you tried 22 minute hard corps? I hear he is less chatty in that!

yumyumpoppycat · 26/01/2017 22:21

Blimey I was struggling to walk round the house it was so cold, never mind a run! It was flippin freezing. Well done Reastie.

I did the shortest H&C workout today Iso Speed (appropriately named) .

I know what you mean Purple about Tony, I have the opposite problem with H&C as they tend to go too fast however some of autumn's workouts have 1 min breaks which feels too long!

101 I tend to switch between 7am and 5pm workouts. I think we must be in hibernation mode as its so cold, I went to bed unusually early yest and the day before, I am tired now but need to tidy a bit if I can as my mum is looking after the kids after school. Just going to catch up on homeland first!

Tsotofamily · 27/01/2017 11:58

Hi all
Do you mind if I join please. I've been lurking for about a year now and your all so positive and supportive to one another. This thread makes me feel motivated, which is what I need specially when I return to work in 2 weeks.
Ive just started doing hip hops abs again but aim to move to t25 in a few weeks time.
I'm also looking to healthy smoothie recipes for breakfast as I don't always have time or want to eat first thing

disappointed101 · 27/01/2017 15:00

Hi Tsoto! Good luck on your fitness journey. There are lots of smoothie recipes in the cook books I have. I will say that without sounding too condescending, be careful of the sugar content. Switching it up with a protein shake might work? Or else mixing some greens in with the fruit.

yumyumpoppycat · 27/01/2017 20:53

Hi Totso glad you have joined in! Smoothies are quite good for adding in powders or greens, peanut butter always seems to make smoothies taste good. If they dont work out scrambled eggs are quick if you use butter a non stick pan and a fairly high temp, no faffing around with milk and chives ;). Protein bars might be another quick option if you can find a healthy one - dp likes bounce bars but we get them from costco which is a bit cheaper.

Hope you enjoy T25 - the thread fave workout is prob speed 2.0 in the second month Grin

Have a great weekend everyone.

Tsotofamily · 27/01/2017 22:38

Thanks both. I've been googling healthy smoothies so there's a few to choose from, also going to give overnight oats ago. I quite often have scrambled eggs, I've also brought some belvita breakfast biscuits just something to keep me going whilst at work.
I managed to get a 30 minutes of a workout done before my baby girl stopped being easy entertained with toys and snacks. Also went out with dogs for an hour which is a daily thing.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend

Reastie · 28/01/2017 07:47

Hello tsoto, welcome. It's really tough with a very young child to manage to get workouts in isn't it.dd is now at an age (luckily) where I can put her in front of the tv or computer to guarantee I can get a workout in without many distractions but I struggled when she was younger.

Day off yesterday due to trial of extra job, which went well and am waiting to hear back about. Hoping for a quick run this morning. My knees still hurt a bit from the 10k on Thursday so thought I'd just go for a 4 or 5 k this morning (look at me and how I've progressed 'just' a 5k!! [proud]) then tomorrow a DVD but I haven't decided which one yet. Purple made me want to do triometrics as it's been ages since I did that but I'm not sure that would be good for the knees so I may do something else.

Reastie · 28/01/2017 09:44

Gcomplete change of plans with workout, feels like I'm getting dds bug so didn't fancy a run in the cold so did 21 day fix abs. Annoyingly I started barre legs from the secret site but it gave up after the warm up so had to quickly sub for something else.

Tsotofamily · 28/01/2017 10:48

Managed to get a workout done this morning, there is a bonus to having the older ones home they kepted Abigail entertained for me Grin just going to get us all sorted and get out with the dogs

Purpleraindeer · 28/01/2017 11:20

Welcome tso. Persist with working out with your little one - it gets easier. I started when mine were both under 2. They just got used to watching me work out and joined in - not always helpfully, but was meant well....

Made the fatal error of selecting asylum plyo as it was only 38mins so therefore must be OK. Error error. Was about to jump through the screen and wring Shaun t's neck after 3mins when I was half dead and he kept saying 'this is just the warm up!' But the good thing was that it actually couldn't get any worse from that point onwards. In retrospect I loved it tho Grin

yumyumpoppycat · 28/01/2017 13:16

What ages are yours tsoto, lucky having a baby, although having said that my brother is having a baby in next few weeks and I am excited to have a cuddle, buy some cute pressies then hand baby back Grin My dc are 6, 9 and 11.

Reastie well done on your running progress, hope the bug doesnt come to much.

Purple I have asylum disks might have to try one for a lark ;)

Planning to do a H&C workout soon. Is really annoying that the workout times arent listed on the box.

Theromanempire · 28/01/2017 16:06

tsoto welcome, glad you have decided to step out of the shadows and join us Smile enjoy T25 - I think we have all done thone workouts at some point. Total Body Cardio is the worst Confused but I agree that Speed 2.0 and Core Speed are the best - the time just whizzes past with those Smile

yumyum you could always look on the secret site for the H&C workout times even if you don't use them on there. Or if you don't access it, just shout and I can list them for you Smile

reastie well done on the running, particularly in the ice. I always used that as an excuse not to go along with every other type of weather, too hot, too cold, too wet, too dry Grin

purple I know that feeling of wanting to throw something at the telly when you are knackered just from the warm up. Leandro's are particularly bad for that - they go on a bit Hmm

disappointed I also do a mix of early (as in 5am Shock) and evening workouts depending on my shifts at work. I actually prefer the morning ones but, if I am at home, DH likes me to exercise with him. I love that feeling that it is done for the day although I don't love dragging myself out of bed at 5am Grin

disappointed101 · 28/01/2017 16:26

5am Roman!! Badass! I thought I was bad! I love being done for the day too. Sometimes my day is so busy, I would have to wait till kids are in bed which is like 8.30pm. I want to watch TV then!
Purple well done on Plyo. I think it is the hardest workout of both vols of Asylum, apart from game day with the running warm up...that is hard

Tsotofamily · 28/01/2017 20:39

Thanks for all the welcomes.

Yum yum - my dcs are 10, 8, 5 and 6 months

Roman - 5amShock I think my body would go into shock getting up that early Grin

I started to do t25 before I found out I was expecting, along with hip hop abs. I enjoy shaun ts workouts although not to sure on insanity but spose after getting bit fitter I wouldn't find it as bad as I did before.
I'm determined to keep going this time tho as normally with work/ dcs/ studying etc I've always given up so I'm glad I feel across this thread and you lovely lot Smile

Reastie · 29/01/2017 07:10

Tsoto if you do want to try insanity I'd recommend insanity max 30 as they have a modifier in all the workouts.

My knee is still a bit iffy from my 10k on thurs. there will be a quick workout this morning before I take dd to a party but I'm not exactly sure yet which workout, but will do something.

Purpleraindeer · 29/01/2017 11:11

I'm an evening workout person. Normally 7.30ish after work and kids have gone to bed. Can't kick the habit and do 5.30/6pm at weekends too. But switched it up this weekend and have done them at 9am both days. I enjoy the happy feeling of having it over for the day, but I also think I end up over compensating by eating and lounging about more as I feel I deserve it.

Did decelerator this morning. Would have been a great workout if I was fresh but I was quite tired from plyo yesterday so struggled a bit.

Poppy - perhaps we could do an asylum challenge week? Although I'll obviously regret suggesting it as I think it might break me.......

disappointed101 · 29/01/2017 11:32

I have finished core de force now so I can start p90x2 tomorrow. I have broke a weight plateau. 111lbs now. I never go below 8 stone. The only time I did was when I was ill and couldn't eat for a week. I am going to continue following Joe Wicks recipes. I had a chocolate treat and it tasted so gross, so my taste buds are changing too. I am excited to see what I can do about maintaining great nutrition this year. I think for me, finding great tasting foods to eat at meal times really helps me not want to eat rubbish. I love Joe Wicks recipes because they are full of flavour. Not to be horrible to beachbody, but when I do their programmes, there are only usually a couple of recipes I like.

yumyumpoppycat · 29/01/2017 14:39

Thanks Roman Flowers, dont worry though, to be fair I could prob find out by googling what the times are.

Ooh ok Purple, shall we start today as I have a fairly quiet week. I am not sure about the skipping bit as lacking in space so might just use an imaginary skipping rope - if space is too much of an issue I might need to quit early getting the excuses in early . Then maybe I will try to follow the plan for month 2 of H&C more closely than my haphazard routine of late.

Well done on your weight loss dissapointed, I might have to dig out some joe wicks books. My uber goal is 129 lbs (am 5ft 4), (ultra uber goal is 8 stone 13lbs but think I am too big boned for that), 129 is a bit further away now than it was as I have gained a few lbs so that would mean another 10 lbs to lose.

Hard to balance everything tsoto but this thread defo helps me keep up with at least a couple of workouts a week, usually more like 5 or 6. Rest for success too though ;) Have to say I am not as dedicated as some who do their workouts on hols though!

yumyumpoppycat · 29/01/2017 14:56

OK, going to try asylum strength as I think I have the equipment out for that.....eeeeeek! Purple if you pick 4 or 5 workouts then for the rest of the week, I will my hardest to get the done by sun pm!? Grin {collapses from nervousness before even starting}

areyoubeingserviced · 29/01/2017 15:16

I have started the Insanity Max 30. Oh my God, it's really difficult.
I thought that I was fit until I tried Insanity.
I also like to exercise early in the morning

yumyumpoppycat · 29/01/2017 17:41

Hi Areyoubeingserviced - Insanity max 30 is REALLY hard! My top tip would be to ignore the max out ethos and pace yourself a bit {but I am a wuss} , I prefer to mix IM30 with another more gentle workout but Purple on here does it properly and loves it Grin

I went pretty light weight for Asylum strength, 4kg kettlebell and 2.5 kg powerblocks. Generally it went like this - level 1 fine, level 2 tough but ok, level 3 no chance! My pullup bar wasnt right for mountain climb thing and I tried switching hand grip which resulted in the pullup bar sliding off its grips and damaging the paintwork on the door frame.

disappointed101 · 29/01/2017 18:30

Oh no yummy:( this is why I'm not allowed to install a pull up bar says dh! I have to make do with resistance bands and and I also have parallel bars to do pull ups. Not exactly the same but half way there.
I find with Asylum strength, if I pick heavier weights, my arms fatigue and I can do less push ups on my toes. If I go a bit lighter, I can do it all unmodified.
Areyoubeingserviced...deffo agree with yummy about taking it slow. Maybe modify? I saw a post on a blog where someone compared calorie burn modified vs unmodified. The difference was very small surprisingly. That being said, the first week is deffo the toughest. Your cardio levels will skyrocket and it will be better after week 2. Imo max 30 is harder than the original insanity if you are constantly maxing out as intended.
