Need to shift my winter flab and tone up so I'm going to do the 30 day shred starting tomorrow. I will carry on running 3 x per week as usual and I will be drinking no booze for the 30 days but otherwise eating normally. I'll weigh and measure my waist in the morning and use this thread as my diary to help me stay motivated- feel free to join in if you fancy Smile

Hello Ladies, it's too hot to run outside for me now, so started 30 day shread. Not planning on doing 30 consecutive days, but did level 1, minus weights at the start of the week, and, my calves!!! Walking is painful.
I did it barefoot. Could this be part of the problem?
Do you all out on trainers to excerise in the house?

kirinm · 19/04/2016 17:38

I would definitely advocate trainers! I still get achy calf muscles from the impact and I'm on day 21.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 19/04/2016 17:52

I did the pilates one, you lot inspired me!

bertiebow · 19/04/2016 19:36

Can I join?

I spend 12 hours a day in an office and am feeling like an old woman even though I'm only 30. I'm not weighing/measuring though, as am ex-anorexic and I will only get fixated... (although I don't look it now - I stuffed my face all of Easter week).

Did Day 1 on Sunday and Day 2 yesterday. Today is a rest day. I've seen lots of people do it straight through but have also read a lot about the importance of rest days to allow muscles to rebuild, which makes sense to me. Quite achey so far, but not unbearably so. Only using 1kg weights as have no upper body strength...

Am I kidding myself that I can already see a slight difference?! Probably...

kirinm · 19/04/2016 20:02

I don't feel any different after 22 days but I think my food and drinking have been pretty poor. I'm going low carb in May after a wedding next weekend.

Day 22, level 2&3 done. 8 more to go!

kirinm · 20/04/2016 20:00

Argh my calf muscles HURT. Day 23 levels 2&3 done!

kirinm · 22/04/2016 21:46

Is anyone still going?

Day 24 done.

kirinm · 23/04/2016 11:21

I'm guessing no one else is but this thread holds me accountable. Day 25 levels 2&3 done.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 23/04/2016 14:09

Still going, in a fashion! I will do my workout later today, when I can shift of the sofa. Grin

LumpySpacedPrincess · 23/04/2016 15:58

Done, that's 5 times this week.

zippyswife · 23/04/2016 16:21

Day 15 done.

kirinm · 23/04/2016 18:17

Ah well done!

RubySlippers77 · 23/04/2016 22:50

I'm still going (with a small blip this week for TOTM!) - still miffed that I couldn't get Ripped in 30 to play at all though Angry - I don't like Davina's 5 Week Fit anywhere near as much as the Shred. I did Davina for a couple of days but am back to Jillian at the moment, usually level 3.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 24/04/2016 11:15

Done

kirinm · 24/04/2016 13:55

Day 26 done. I'm going to try and locate my ripped in 30 today. I've got a wedding weekend next weekend but plan to start ripped on bank holiday Monday.

bertiebow · 24/04/2016 19:14

Day 4 L1 done. The push ups are the worst, I can barely do three half-ones in a row! Also those lateral side raise things - can do one or ht other but not the compound movement...

Aiming to do it every other day. If I do it two days in a row it makes me feel really tired and blegh. I am quite feeble but hoping to get strong!

kirinm · 24/04/2016 20:49

Lateral side raises never get easier from my experience!

kirinm · 26/04/2016 20:25

Day 27 levels 2&3 done. Those walking push-ups into plank rows never get easier!

zippyswife · 26/04/2016 21:33

Day 18 done. How scared do I need to be of level 3?

kirinm · 26/04/2016 21:57

I prefer level 3. It's more core based I think and it goes quickly - well, it feels like it anyway.

zippyswife · 27/04/2016 10:25

Ooh that sounds positive. What are you planning on doing after the shred? I have lost 15lbs of weight is put on in pregmancy and have another -15 to go. I feel like I'm doing so well I don't want to stop!! Ds3 is only 3 months though so I don't have lots of time that's why the shred is so good so far!!

kirinm · 27/04/2016 11:11

I'm going to move on to ripped in 30. My aim is to do two levels 5-6 times a week but I've done it before and it is much harder than the shred (I think) so I quickly lost my motivation last time.

I'm also cutting out booze and snacking in May because despite being quite good on the exercise front, I've lost barely any inches with the shred. It's definitely improved my fitness levels though.

I'm so impressed that you do any exercise at all with a baby!

zippyswife · 27/04/2016 20:05

I like your plan! Would it be worth me starting the shred again from the start but with heavier weights? I've lost half a stone in these 19 days and my jeans that were too small are now too baggy on me so it must be working. I've still got a stone to go though so need to keep at it. Yes I'm amazed I do anything with a baby- all my life I made excuses and now when I have a good excuse I find that I'm well into it!!

kirinm · 27/04/2016 21:01

What weights are you using? You might want to start mixing it up when you're done so you don't get bored and also to make sure you're still challenging yourself.

Day 28 levels 2&3 done!

zippyswife · 27/04/2016 22:04

I've been using 1kg. I could probably push to 2/2.5kg on some moves but others I can barely do
What I'm doing. Might invest in some more weights if I'm going to redo it. Thanks for the advice.
