30 day shred starts tomorrow!

Need to shift my winter flab and tone up so I'm going to do the 30 day shred starting tomorrow. I will carry on running 3 x per week as usual and I will be drinking no booze for the 30 days but otherwise eating normally. I'll weigh and measure my waist in the morning and use this thread as my diary to help me stay motivated- feel free to join in if you fancy Smile

Is it too late to join this? Just done first day of level 1. Last time I shredded was 4 years ago after DC1, had great results shifting the baby weight. DC2 is now 2 and I thought I'd have a go.
My legs are like jelly and my pelvic floor is shot to pieces! Might have to buy a pack of tena lady at this rate!

Hey- can I join too. I've just done level 1 day 3 and everything hurts!

Does anyone else find the lower abdo moves really tough? I had a hard pregnancy and emcs, with bad post op infection 2 years ago and consequently had no sensation in the lower abdomen. I'm finding it impossible to do the reverse crunches and the bicycle crunches because my muscles won't co-operate at all.

Can I join too? I've been doing a combination of 30DS/6W6P/NMTZ since the beginning of the year, but I'm not feeling terribly motivated at the moment.

I think I did 30DS L2D14 today (yes - I know it is usually 10 days per level. I'm a bit out of sync at the moment). I've had a 2 week break since my last 30DS session, so it hurt quite a lot.

Can I ask- what weights do people have? I need to buy some but don't want to spend loads. Used tin cans last time but want to get proper ones this time and am baffled by the array on Amazon and Argos! Help

So far I've been using cans of coconut milk but I'm going to pick up some 1kg weights this weekend. I'm in so much pain from the cans that I don't know how I'll cope with weights though!

I've got 1kg hand weights. For some exercises I could probably do with heavier weights - for others 1kg is more than enough.

I tend to use 2kg as a default, but swap in 1kg and 3kg when I feel like I'm working too hard or not enough.

Day 10, levels 1&2 done. I'll do 15 days of levels 1&2 and then 15 of levels 2&3. Definitely finding some parts easier now in level 1 but I think level 2 is always tough.

I have 2kg, 1.5kg and 1kg weights. I'm currently using the 2kg and 1.5 kg.

Thinking of joining a yoga class soon. I'm dreaming of being an exercise demon!

The jumpy lunges, the rockstar jumps, the walking planks...just can't get them to flow...never mind, it might get better Hmm

I moved on to 30DS L3 today. I hate the rockstar jumps with a passion. The rest of the circuit seems OK - it seemed easier than level 2.

I'm scared now, what's a rockstar jump? I'm not the best co-ordinated and find the bicycle crunches on level one really hard.

Do you know what a ham curl is? It's basically doing that with both legs at the same time, so a jump bringing both legs into a ham curl behind you.

I have no idea if that makes sense?!

I had a day off yesterday and today was hard. Remind me/convince me it gets easier. I can't even laugh without pain! I am so unfit, I had no idea.

I just did day 5, I'm no longer in pain and didn't nearly cry during the bicycle crunches so I think it's progress! I took my measurements day 1 and will do them again on day 10 to see if it's made any difference.

I think I prefer level 3 to 1. I still struggle to do jumping jacks, skipping, jumping jacks, skipping without a 5 second breather.

Ooh good idea re measurements. I can feel muscles aching working so it must be doing something. Also interested to read that some of you do double sessions! In awe

Kirin I find the jumping jacks and skipping makes me feel that my calves are on fire! Glad it's not just me!

I cheat on level 1 - I do jumping jacks with butt kicks in circuit 1, and then skipping with shadow boxing in circuit 2. It hurts much less this way around Grin

I think I prefer level 3 to level 2. Maybe that means I'm getting fitter.

Level 3 day 4 done - I think I have sorted out my issues with some of the moves - the walking plank thing I do clockwise first set and the other way next set instead of alternating each one which is much less confusing for me. The jump squat things I was finding it hard to stay balanced so I have invented a sort of skip version that is half way between Natalie and Anita level Grin and the rock stars I have swapped for butt kicks - I just feel like a lumpy elephant doing rock stars - too depressing, sorry jillian! I have definitely toned up loads doing this - really recommend it Smile

Day 12 - Levels 1, 2 and 3. Urgh. I struggle with balance on any of the lunge exercises in all 3 levels. I think I might need to add some ab stuff in as I think my core is pretty weak which would explain my inability to balance.
