Need to shift my winter flab and tone up so I'm going to do the 30 day shred starting tomorrow. I will carry on running 3 x per week as usual and I will be drinking no booze for the 30 days but otherwise eating normally. I'll weigh and measure my waist in the morning and use this thread as my diary to help me stay motivated- feel free to join in if you fancy Smile

Disaster, my Ripped in 30 DVD wouldn't play today!! No idea why - I did Shred level 3 again instead :-(

Good luck zippyswife - Shredding only 9 weeks after DC3, I take my hat off to you!!

zippyswife · 11/04/2016 17:05

Oh no! So annoying when you've geared yourself up to it!

FauxFox · 11/04/2016 22:56

Run and Day 10 level 3 done! Woohoo! Made it Grin

I will weigh in tomorrow first thing but i'm not expecting to have lost any more, I have been away for the weekend and piggy piggy lately however I am in no doubt that my stomach looks better and I am definitely more toned...a random man in the street said he could see i'd been doing my squats Confused that's never happened before!

Well done faux! What was your favourite level and which level do you feel made the most difference?

RubySlippers77 · 12/04/2016 13:18

Congratulations faux!! Your squats story made me smile Grin

Ripped in 30 still won't work. Grrrr! Am sending it back to Amazon. Shredded again today in the meantime...

FauxFox · 12/04/2016 14:35

There were bits I liked/hated in all the levels, although actually most of it was OK by the time I had given it a few goes. I think level 1 and 3 made the most difference for me - 1 as it was from a start of 'lethargy' Grin so was a quick difference, 3 really started to make a difference toned-wise esp stomach and thighs.

I will carry on doing it a few times a week + running I think...I quite like it after a stressy day - good to sweat out the stress Grin

Pleased to hear that about cycle 3. I'm hoping the core exercises help me in the tummy region. I've got to sort out my eating though, I'm being really bad.

kirinm · 12/04/2016 19:34

Day 18 - level 2&3 and some ab exercises done. 652 calories burnt according to my fitbit.

FauxFox · 13/04/2016 07:17

Final result waist 27" (2 inches off total)
Weight 10st 4 (3lb off)

Definitely far better toned...pretty happy with that Smile considering I haven't dieted at all...I am going to try and stop snacking and see if that drops a couple of pounds before summer. Good luck all!

Well done faux! I'll be chuffed if I can get 2 inches off my waist.

You should get Ripped in 30 next!

zippyswife · 13/04/2016 15:05

Well Done faux! I'll knuckle down and keep at it for that kind of result!

kirinm · 13/04/2016 19:35

Day 19 - levels 2&3 done. Into the 20s tomorrow woohoo.

Esssss · 14/04/2016 08:59

Hi everyone

I'm on day 11 of the Shred just started level 2. I've got an 11 week old baby and have somehow managed to put on weight since having her!? I'm a big Jillian fan and have done 30 day shred, ripped in 30 and a few others and find them brilliant. Especially after my first baby, it was awesome!

However it feels so much harder this time round! Granted I've 2 kids to look after now and I did NO exercise while pregnant but oh my god I am struggling!

I see some people are combining it with running or doing two levels per day. I was feeling massively smug just managing to do the 28 mins!!

Do people take rest days per week? I haven't done in the past but am feeling weary today after mammoth feeding sessions with a baby going through a growth spurt!

Looking for motivation!

kirinm · 14/04/2016 09:42

I do two levels at a time but I don't have young children and sit at a desk most of the day so don't feel that 1 level is really enough - and I can just about squeeze an hour in at the end of the day. I'm aiming for 5-6 days a week but sometimes it's less as my body (legs particularly) start to ache due to the impact of some of the exercises.

I think rest days are important so would definitely say yes, take them.

kirinm · 14/04/2016 19:43

Day 20 - levels 2&3 done.

RubySlippers77 · 14/04/2016 23:39

The fates are conspiring against me - my replacement Ripped in 30 DVD didn't work either!! Have ordered yet another copy and will return the first two...

Did Shred L2 today for a bit of variety, I've been repeating L3 but am starting to get carpet burn on my elbows, not a good look!

zippyswife · 15/04/2016 04:27

essss I don't think you need motivation- you're doing amazingly well just doing it- stick with it. I'm in similar position- 3rd Dc is 10 weeks and I gained a lot of weight (I had 2.5 extra to lose after having him) so decided to do something to shift it. I can see the weight going down in the scales already (I'm day 7 today) I've lost 4lbs already. The workout near kills me as I was so sedentary during the pregnancy. I was aiming to run a couple of times a week as well but my knees are playing up so I'm giving the running a miss for now. Good luck. Stick with it you're doing so well.

RubySlippers77 · 17/04/2016 22:23

How is everyone doing? Essss - you're doing amazingly just finding the time to Shred!!

As for me, my third copy of Ripped in 30 has also failed to play. Grrrrr! Sent Amazon a very grumpy email, especially as I now have the hassle of returning them all. To be fair, they replied straight away and said I won't be charged for the last one, and they may withdraw it from sale for a while as it seems there's a stock issue. In the meantime, I've ordered Davina's 5 Week Fit - couldn't even find a copy of Ripped in 30 on ebay! - sorry Jillian, I'm defecting…..

whyistherumgone · 17/04/2016 23:14

ive just started up the shred again - day three of level one, did a very short 5k run as well. hoping to see a difference for my holiday in june!

zippyswife · 18/04/2016 18:02

Day 10 for me today. Is lost 5lbs within 7 days but seem to have put 3lbs back on? Unless this is just a natural fluctuation of my weight. I put on 4 stone with ds who's 10 weeks now and thought (maybe naively) that the extra 2.5 stone i was left with after giving birth would be easier to shift. Any ideas??

kirinm · 18/04/2016 20:03

Oh Ruby that's rubbish!

Day 21 levels 2&3 done. I'm rushing to get it finished by the end if the month but am struggling with various injuries!

whyistherumgone · 18/04/2016 21:22

Lumpy I'm about to give that cardio pilates workout a go - thanks for sharing!

whyistherumgone · 18/04/2016 23:11

just did the pilates one thanks lumpy its killer in a good way. Going to mix it up with the shred every other day i think.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 19/04/2016 16:36

Need to get going again! In my defence I did pe today with a bunch of kids, bloody knackering it was! Grin
