Bloody hell - that 7 min Davina exercise DVD

It works!

I've been at it a week. Before that, did fuck all exercise for YEARS. Ended up with a bad knee every time I tried running etc so gave up.

This was a last ditch attempt to stop my body basically falling off, and I was attracted by the fact it would all be done in seven minutes and at least I could tell myself I'd done something.

It actually frigging works.

(Promise I don't work for Davina. Booble plate, river of sweetcorn, cube of poo, pombears, elderly Korean lady.)

But if there is anyone who was like me, who hates exercise and just generally CBA with gyms etc, this is cracking.

Morning all
I'm very tempted to join you. I have a big birthday coming up and have never been less fit than I am now. I was doing quite well on 5:2 last year but haven't got back into it since January.

While I'm still looking for reasons not to do it Can anyone recommend a reasonable, cheap sports bra?

BTW, I notice that you/we have nearly run out of space on this thread and also it's in Chat so will disappear. Are there any plans afoot to move somewhere more permanent? I presume there is an exercise section somewhere, (not that I've ever ventured there).

Pantsalive · 18/03/2015 11:29

Also, I wondered if I downloaded Davina onto my ipad mini, would I be able to see enough? I like the idea of portability.

And if anyone can give me three compelling reasons to push the button and just get it, it would be very helpful. Dithering...

FrChewieLouie · 18/03/2015 11:31

I'm on week 4 after a winter of lolling and scoffing, and really noticing the benefits in terms of firmness, and being able to zip things all the way up without a struggle. Yay!

Plus, I'm not even a little bit bored with it yet. The 30 Day Shred bored me by day 12 Grin.

wigglesrock · 18/03/2015 11:47

Pantsalive - I have it downloaded and have watched it on an iPad mini - it was grand.

BuzzardBird · 18/03/2015 12:56

Do it Pants, it will be the best £12 you've ever spent.

I have many problems physically but this morning have done warm up, fat burner and total stretch. I bought weight today without thinking about having to carry them all the way back to the car which was the opposite end of the Mezza so I feel I have done extra Grin

BuzzardBird · 18/03/2015 12:58

Stevie where will you move this thread to in order to keep it? If I lose it my encouragement will be gone! Shock

AmazonGrace · 18/03/2015 12:59

Ooh yes, we need to keep the thread going! How can we do this?

AmazonGrace · 18/03/2015 12:59

My thighs depend upon it!

Moodykat · 18/03/2015 13:03

Uh-oh! stevie we neeeeed you!!

Persilwhite · 18/03/2015 13:08

There's a topic called Exercise. Who knew ?! Smile Perhaps if Stevie asked nicely, they would move the whole thread there.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I think I am going to just have to do it. Are there any clips available I could have a look at first?

Moodykat · 18/03/2015 13:34

Do we want it in the exercise topic? We might get serious exercisers joining us...is there anywhere less...scary(?)...for us to go?

Persil - not sure if there are any clips. Just get it! It's fun, it's 10 minutes from start to finish (or longer if you want, obviously) and it really does make a difference.

Not sure if it was mentioned on this thread previously but if not - "You might not be winning the race, but you're beating the girl that's sat on the sofa".

MrsMcGregor · 18/03/2015 14:03

Afternoon all and hi to newbies.

Thanks for pep talk yesterday .... I feel better knowing I am not the only one who isn't necessaily 'feeling' the effects. Today was a new day. Children back to school, house to myself. I did the warmup the legs which was much better than leaving them until later on. Completed legs for the first time, had a 5 min break to get my breath and then moved onto Tone & Sculpt and finished up with Box Fit. Really enjoyed Box Fit .... as Davina says, it's fun! Feeling much more positive.

Oh, and am so shamefully unfit that before I started, even walking upstairs left me breathless. Now I can run up witout being out of breath. Win!

stevienickstophat · 18/03/2015 15:59

Hello all!

If I ask MNHQ to move this thread to Exercise, would that be ok? I can't believe we've nearly filled a thread! Thrilled!

A few of us have had wobbles over the last week or so, but I think that's okay. Some days rest is more important than exercise, and I think if it's long term change we're looking for, there are going to be peaks and troughs. Love what a pp said about beating the girl sitting on the sofa. Bang on.

I'm aiming for three sessions plus warm up tonight. Am loving the tone and burn, but do worry that I'm going to drop a weight on my face and break my nose I've done it enough times with my phone

I've sent off my request, so let's see what happens Grin

Great stuff Stevie and long may this thread continue.

AmazonGrace · 18/03/2015 16:12

Ooh, are we there now! Have we got to step up our game now

Pants I've got mine on my samsung phone and it is fine. I think that's one reason why I've stuck to it. I don't have to faff about too much which then causes me to procrastinate and overthink trying to fit it in.

AmazonGrace · 18/03/2015 16:16

Grin Stevie

Do I need some Jane Fonda leggings now?

HemanOrSheRa · 18/03/2015 16:18

Ooh! 'Ello! That was weird! We were in chat and it magicked to exercise all of a sudden, like!

stevienickstophat · 18/03/2015 16:18

The thing is, no, we don't have to step up our game.

We've done that by starting.

This is a thread about reclaiming exercise for those of us who never felt it was for us, or who lost our confidence after childbirth or illness or injury, or just lost our way a little bit regarding looking after ourselves.

This thread is about realising that getting up off the sofa and moving about a bit can be enjoyable, can be done in our pyjamas and can be fitted into lives that are too often lived for the benefit of other people.

This is a thread about firming up our wobbly bits, strengthening our bones, making our joints flexible and lifting our moods, so that the rest of our lives are that little bit easier and more enjoyable.

So, grab your tuna, wrestle yourself into your sports bra and watch out for the Little Differences!
