Bloody hell - that 7 min Davina exercise DVD

It works!

I've been at it a week. Before that, did fuck all exercise for YEARS. Ended up with a bad knee every time I tried running etc so gave up.

This was a last ditch attempt to stop my body basically falling off, and I was attracted by the fact it would all be done in seven minutes and at least I could tell myself I'd done something.

It actually frigging works.

(Promise I don't work for Davina. Booble plate, river of sweetcorn, cube of poo, pombears, elderly Korean lady.)

But if there is anyone who was like me, who hates exercise and just generally CBA with gyms etc, this is cracking.

Yes, Amazon, that's how it's making me feel!

I was the kid who forged notes to get out of PE. Thirty five years of exercise fail.

But I can do this fucker!

Yeah, it's the latest, and it's called 7 minutes.

Is it as bad as the Shred? That worked but I've never been able to do more than 4 days in a row (even in 4 days I saw a difference in my upper arms and abs) and it KILLS me. If this is a bit easier (even if it then takes a bit longer to achieve results) I'd be interested.

stevienickstophat · 15/02/2015 09:11

I've never tried Shred, but at the end of this I'm knackered, out of breath, heart beating- but in a good way. I don't feel destroyed. Just like I've had a workout.

It's great because just when you think you can't hack any more, it's over.

Right, the warm up is ridiculously easy. Basically swinging your arms about and doing some stretches.

The fat burner workout is a doodle to do. Shall I go into what the exercises are or is this getting a bit evangelical?

doddle

I need to get this. It'll take me longer to truss myself up in my sports bra than it will to do the exercise Wink.

MargotLovedTom · 15/02/2015 09:14

Are your clothes feeling looser?

InQuiteAPickle · 15/02/2015 09:14

Ooh, seriously? 10 minutes I can do!

I love Davina - she can't be any more annoying than Jillian anyway.

MaryWestmacott · 15/02/2015 09:15

oooh, I might be tempted! However, just as I thought, "yes, I can find an extra 10 minutes every day" I just thought, "oh hang on, another thread on here got me signed up for the "50 books in 2015" challenge, and I'm behind on those, that sounds like using up good reading time"... Grin

TSSDNCOP · 15/02/2015 09:15

Is there anything plank like in them. I have knackered toes, plank is too painful!

stevienickstophat · 15/02/2015 09:17

Yes, the abs workout is a combination of crunches, reverse crunches and plank.

But you do it on your knees, not on your toes.

Much better.

Grin Stevie! I've got 'Get your freak on' ear worm thingy going on now!

I can DO THIS SHIT!

Ahem...as you were!

stevienickstophat · 15/02/2015 09:18

Clothes are feeling looser, Margot, yes.

Definitely. Bum feels higher too.

And shaving my legs doesn't feel like shaving a jelly. Definitely firmer, especially the inner thighs.

I love all of Davina's dvds. I did all 10 of the 7 minute workouts yesterday and today my combo will be:

Ultimate fat burner, box fit, tone and burn, ultimate abs, legs, box fit, ultimate fat burner.

The trainer is called Ed btw.

stevienickstophat · 15/02/2015 09:19

GO AMAZON!

stevienickstophat · 15/02/2015 09:20

That's it, Ed.

Matt's her husband.

I'd do em both

stevienickstophat · 15/02/2015 09:21

Wow, Showy!

In awe!

I can't do the box fit due to a shoulder issue. I tried it but it started kicking off again.

I've only gone and ordered this (why do MNers make me buy things?). I've never done an exercise video in my life. I'm going to have to send DH upstairs so he doesn't laugh at me.

AmazonGrace · 15/02/2015 09:24

In off to order before it's sold out!

Showy · 15/02/2015 09:26

If you follow Ed on twitter or fb, he posts combos which help with inspiration. I've been doing Davina's dvds for 10 years and while I miss Jackie and Mark, Ed is fab and v good for people who are worried about straining anything. His abs position and thrusting obsession has made a real difference to my lower abs and they were pretty ace before. Davina is v good at abs. Particularly in recent years. There are some pretty challenging abs workouts on her other dvds too.

Ed's really not my type. Pretty sure I'm not his either! He's a bendy man....

stevienickstophat · 15/02/2015 09:26

FirstOfficer I send DP out of the room. And the kids.

You do need a weight, which I haven't got yet, so I've been using a four pack of tuna Blush
