Bloody hell - that 7 min Davina exercise DVD

It works!

I've been at it a week. Before that, did fuck all exercise for YEARS. Ended up with a bad knee every time I tried running etc so gave up.

This was a last ditch attempt to stop my body basically falling off, and I was attracted by the fact it would all be done in seven minutes and at least I could tell myself I'd done something.

It actually frigging works.

(Promise I don't work for Davina. Booble plate, river of sweetcorn, cube of poo, pombears, elderly Korean lady.)

But if there is anyone who was like me, who hates exercise and just generally CBA with gyms etc, this is cracking.

Only! I was going to suggest a rest day (or 3) if it's painful.

Hope it feels better soon. I've had frozen shoulders (one then the other) and it feels good to be able to take part in this, knowing what it was like before to have such restricted movement.

MrsMcGregor · 12/03/2015 14:03

Swas going to have today off but instead I did warm up, fat burner and tone and sculpt ..... all without the help of the mirror! Grin

Waves to new Davina'ers!

BuzzardBird · 12/03/2015 14:24

Thanks Peace. It doesn't go away though and I have physio tomorrow so I might as well just plough through it if I can. Been like this for 9 years and really need to take my life off hold.

Well done Mrs you are putting me to shame :)

PeaceOfWildThings · 12/03/2015 15:33

Is it an old injury, or a dodgy knee joint, Buzzard? Sounds like youve got to the point where you want to gain some control back, and I hope the exercise helps.

MrsMcGregor · 12/03/2015 16:09

Ouch Buzzard, hope physio helps tomorrow.

Pete, I downloaded it to my phone six months ago and that's as far as I got!! So no, sorry!

Moodykat · 12/03/2015 16:34

Welcome newbies! Good luck!

I too downloaded C25K quite a while ago. Have not done it. Not even once.

Buzzard, I hope you knee is better soon. I wonder if we (all taking one section or something) just wrote out which moves are in each section - then it might be easier if someone wanted to avoid certain moves?

Does that even make sense?

BuzzardBird · 12/03/2015 16:36

I don't know Peace started with SPD in pregnancy that didn't go away, whenever I am hormonal I am in the most pain. GP has only referred for physio and prescribed pain moderators (which don't work). I have pretty much given in trying to get someone to actually tell me what's wrong so have decided to excercise and hopefully get stronger.

SirWilliamBluntInstrument · 12/03/2015 17:29

Moodykat yes please! I have been wondering what I am missing, but cannot see the screen on my laptop well enough to buy the DVD. Haven't figured out how to buy the Youtube videos on the TV or buy on another device etc.

I could use another TV where there is a DVD player but not as much room there and I would have to lug weights and mat around the house for every exercise. I need to know what I'm missing! Grin

Moodykat · 12/03/2015 19:28

I wasn't planning on going into much detail! And I haven't tried them all,so need help!

PeaceOfWildThings · 12/03/2015 20:00

Ok. Fingers crossed!

4nnabella · 12/03/2015 20:43

Jumping on the inspiration bandwagon! I am 3 stone heavier than I want to be and haven't exercised since I fell pregnant with my now 3yo daughter! I read most of this thread earlier at work and bought the DVD on my way home. I've just done warm up, box fit and the stretching and my legs are jelly! Will try for arms/abs tomorrow.

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 12/03/2015 20:50

I've downloaded the C25k app for the third time this week. Grin

Running is so boring but it makes my thighs look less sausage like.

Lyndie · 12/03/2015 21:12

Warm up, tone and sculpt, fitness challenge and stretch. Done! Grin

holidaysarenice · 13/03/2015 01:03

Thanks guys! I'll find a copy and get stuck in on Monday!

stevienickstophat · 13/03/2015 06:56

Morning all!

Felt ill again last night (sick of this) so ended up asleep in my onesie instead of Davina'ing Hmm

Have a funeral to attend today along with an annoying head cold, so I'll see how I feel.

What's great is, I know I'll go back to it.

Today's Little Difference - reduced back fat Grin

I decided to just wake when I wanted rather than putting on my alarm because I'm not at work today, so I've not yet done it. I woke at 6.40 and I actually felt as though I wanted to get up and do it Shock just as I was sitting up DD woke and I can just about get her to stop talking for one section, but not 3 or 4. When she talks, she puts me off.

I can't decide whether to do the DVD or whether to go for a swim. Either way I will do some exercise today. I will come back on later to tell you all what I decided to do.

Moodykat · 13/03/2015 08:31

Oh Stevie, that is rotten. Hope you feel better soon.

I did tone and burn this morning again and enjoyed it. Not sure if I will like it so much once my proper weights arrive!

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 13/03/2015 10:01

Morning all!

Today I've done: Warm Up, Fat Burner, Legs and Total Stretch. I was going to do abs but the legs killed me.

Little difference: in the total stretch I can touch my right toe. I've never been able to do that! Also can sometimes hit my hand when doing the kicks in Fat Burner.

PlumpingIsQuiteUpForScrabble · 13/03/2015 10:32

Little difference: I think I may have stomach muscles lurking under the flab Shock I told DH that I need to diet the glab off so as to meet the muscles in the middle, as it were, and he cheerfully said 'You'll be like a muscly caterpillar bursting out of a fat cocoon'!

Right, thanks love Hmm Grin

I am only doing this every other day at present as I don't want to put myself off by overdoing it too early. Quite pleased with my perseverance tbh, and I do feel more energised several hours afterwards. Go 7-minute fit!!

BuzzardBird · 13/03/2015 14:18

Oh Stevie. Sorry for your loss and hope you feel better soon...you slacker! Grin.

Have not done any yet today as have been to see the Physio with the death grip fingers and now have a beetroot red leg. She said I need orthotics before I do any more excercise (if it involves knee work) so instead of getting on-line and ordering them I am messing around on here Blush I am such a procrastinator!

PeaceOfWildThings · 13/03/2015 14:41

Buzzard check with your local hospolital podiatrist department to see if you can self refer to get yourself custom made orthotics. They really work, although I had to go back and get a higher pair made too. Generic ones through the post are too...generic and do next to nothing for people who need them.

Plumping my DH comes out with such gems, but has a tendency to keep them to himself now. I've learned not to ask what he's thinking unless I'm in the right frame of mind and can take it!Grin

Stevie Flowers am having a rest day today too. Back to it tomorrow or Monday - that is the beauty of it.

BuzzardBird · 13/03/2015 14:51

Ooo, that's interesting Peace Will look into that thanks Thanks

Sallystyle · 13/03/2015 15:02

Just finished

Fat burner, box fit, legs, ultimate fat burner,

I did some random ab work. I have a bad back so like to do my own in my own pace.

I lost my Davina 15 minute DVD which I was planning to start today think my dog ate it

RabbitsarenotHares · 13/03/2015 15:20

How much jumping about is involved?

Really need to do something, but hate doing stuff like this at home. Am now in a new office, by myself, so could do something here but as I'm in a portakabin I fear I have to be careful. This elephant doesn't want people running in to the office wondering what's causing the earthquake!

velmadinkly · 13/03/2015 17:59

I didn't end up doing anything exercise wise Blush I'm not too bothered though because I'll have a good session tomorrow before the madness of swimming and dancing lessons in the morning. I instead did very little and caught up on the tv I miss during the week due to going to bed at 9pm due to the early starts Monday - Thursday.

I noticed a small difference today, when I was shaving my legs, my thigh muscle above the outer part of knee looked more toned, I had a little ridge going on!
