Just putting a marker down for a new thread for the Shreddees! All welcome, and it's not limited to the Shred - all those working through any of JM's various forms of torture are very welcome.

Can i join? I'm not shredding (although i have done it twice before) but in going to start JMs Yoga Meltdown tonight, although i think only part one is on youtube, so may move onto another JM routine afterwards (i like the kickboxing one she has on youtube)

Decided today it was time to get back into healthy eating and exercising, i desperately need to tone up all over

MagpieCursedTea · 09/02/2015 19:51

Having a rest day today but feeling like I actually want to shred which I guess is a good thing!
I was planning today and tomorrow as rest days, worried about losing momentum though. I'm working late tomorrow so I'll see how I feel when I get home.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/02/2015 19:51

Welcom vito - actually quite a lot of us are doing non-shred JMs including some doing the yoga and kickboxing I think.

VitoCorleonePart2 · 09/02/2015 20:02

Only managed half of the yoga meltdown, not sure its my cup of tea.

Done the kickboxing one instead, i used to be able to do that routine without even breaking a sweat, 12 months of not exercising and it was a struggle! I'm dripping with sweat. Definitely doing that one again tomorrow!

AtAt · 09/02/2015 20:03

Day 28 done
I don't quite know how how to word this, so here goes. Does anyone else feel like they should be concentrating on their pelvic floors more? Some of the jumps in level 3 make me feel everything is going to fall outBlush

ErrolTheDragon · 09/02/2015 20:09

AtAt - I'm not too bad myself, but some of the high-impact moves do act as a reminder!

ImogenQuy · 10/02/2015 07:17

RI30 L4 D1 done. I'd forgotten that this one has scissor hops in it: for some reason I can't do those without hurting my knees. I suspect I twist the knee slightly to try to cross my feet in mid-air. Apart from those I think this one's actually easier than either 3 or (my nemesis) 2.

Three more workouts till half term, and then I'm going to award myself a week off as we're going away. And after that we'll be into Lent, and I'll have to work out a way of motivating myself to do my JM without this thread for support.

vito, between us you and I might make the perfect Jillian devotee: I like the stuff with no or very little cardio (including Yoga Meltdown), and I sent the kick box DVD to the charity shop after one viewing!

30DS L3D8 done, by some miracle.

Now for a riveting day of washing baby spew off pretty much everything Hmm

ErrolTheDragon · 10/02/2015 11:24

Imogen - those 'scissor hops' are nasty!

Flowers elpheba - you need something nice to smell!

Did my Ri30 L2 day 5 - used larger weights for most of the moves, think I may stick with this for the rest of the week after all. The 'stork stance' with row I find it's actually easier to balance with larger weights - the laws of physics being helpful for once!

VitoCorleonePart2 · 10/02/2015 14:55

Yeah i definitely prefer cardio, the yoga one had me sweating but not as much as i wanted to Grin i will still do a bit of it as stretching is good, but cardio kickboxing is my video for the week

Its a shame as i really wanted to do yoga but i just cant get into it

PorkyMinch · 10/02/2015 22:39

I'm setting my alarm early for level two day five tomorrow. I found day four almost, if i dare say it, fairly easy.

I was a regular Jillian girl until getting depressed last summer. I stopped exercising and sat around smoking and taking these antidepressants that made me want to sleep forever. Now I'm back shredding from the start, I was worried about how long it would take to get some fitness back. It's really encouraging that it has come back so quickly.

That said, I'll probably die on my arse tomorrow and my last sesh will have just been a fluke. I'll report in the morning!

ErrolTheDragon · 10/02/2015 23:06

porky - sorry you've not been well, but glad you're back with Jillian and us now! As you've done this before, I think day 4 being OK won't have been a fluke - even for newbies it usually gets better after the first 3-4 days.

Well, my alarm goes earlier than I'd like every weekday in termtime so I really ought to be off to bed. The dog's lying beside me snoring already.

ImogenQuy · 11/02/2015 06:44

Yoga Inferno L1 D7 done. Boy, did I want to stay in bed this morning. I have to go to work extra early, sadly. Didn't see DS at all yesterday, and won't again today or tomorrow morning Sad.

Thanks, Elphaba. I hope the baby's stopped spewing.

How old is your DS, Imogen?

I've decided against doing it this morning. I set my alarm early, but it woke my son up. So I'd just got everything almost ready and looked at the time and thought I'd be cutting it a bit fine. So now doing it after work.

Bollocks.

blodynmawr · 11/02/2015 07:55

30DS L3 D2 done.
Well done on the weight loss AtAt.
I don't do diets or weighing but last year dropped a couple of dress sizes when doing the Shred.
This time need to keep it off and keep exercising!Smile

Jacksterbear · 11/02/2015 09:37

Vito I like the youtube kickboxing one too! I wish it was a bit longer though.

Errol well done on upping the weights.

Porky I have definitely found it much quicker to get fitness levels back after a break when I've been fit before, compared to the very first time getting fit! And I also find exercise really good for helping keep depression and anxiety under control.

Have done Ripped L4 and L3 so far this week. Planning to do all 4 levels in reverse order over the course of the week! Using 3kg weights which is fine for most of it, although the weighted superman thingies in L4 are not easy with those weights! L2 later today:

"2 minutes of cardio in plank position - who DOES that? ME, that's who!"

ElphabaTheGreen · 11/02/2015 10:24

30DS L3 D9 all done.

Imogen He's pretty much stopped. He was fine all day yesterday, then during his pre-bed feed last night he looked up at me, smiled sweetly, then released a tsunami of barf that soaked through to my undies Hmm No further 'output' since then, thankfully.

Porky Well done on getting back on the horse, mentally and physically.

ErrolTheDragon · 11/02/2015 13:34

The weighted supermans I have to go down to 500ml water bottles! But todays Ri30 L2 was using 3kgs for the serving biceps, one 6kg for the triceps extension (find that easier to hold than the pair); both 6kgs for the chest press and 10lbers for everything else.

I can only do the plank cardio with pauses between! The last cardio interval I don't need to stop though. Maybe I'll give the first set a go without stopping tomorrow or fri, or not after each 30s. But the squat thrusts... I can't quite get through the whole lot properly but then again I didn't used to be able to do even one!

Jacksterbear · 11/02/2015 13:56

Ewwwww @ "tsunami of barf" Elphaba! Poor him/you. Hope the worst is over now.

Errol that's great work re the weights. I need to do that - using different weights within a workout. I tend to use just one set, which means I end up in danger of bad form in some of the harder exercises but not pushing myself enough in the easier ones.

Well I did Ripped L2 - and in a fit of over-enthusiasm decided to precede it with PiYo Upper Body (pilates/yoga hybrid - the upper body one is unsurprisingly full of plank/downward dog/tricep push ups etc) - I may have underestimated how brutal that would be on the old shoulders!

I usually don't have to stop during the plank cardio circuit of L2 Ripped, but did today (2-3 seconds in between each 30 second interval). I quite impressed myself with my squat thrusts though - after years of only being able to jump in and out a few cm, can now do them almost how they do them in the DVD!

MagpieCursedTea · 11/02/2015 13:59

30DS L1 D6 completed after a 2 day break. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be but I've done other exercise for the last couple of days.

Silly question, but what's the strength move called where you're on your back and lifting the weights and squeezing in the middle? I think she's saying 'chest wides' but can't quite make it out.

ElphabaTheGreen · 11/02/2015 14:04

Chest flies.

VitoCorleonePart2 · 11/02/2015 14:12

Jackster yes i agree, wish it was a bit longer, i hate all the "punching it out" on there though, it absolutely kills my legs!

Done day 2 last night, tonight the plan is bit of a run on the treadmill then cardio kickbox again Smile

VitoCorleonePart2 · 11/02/2015 14:14

Think im going to do cardio kickbox all this week then next week move onto the shred

MagpieCursedTea · 11/02/2015 14:15

Thanks Elphaba!

blodynmawr · 11/02/2015 18:21

30DS L3 D1 Smile.
Made it to Level 3 and reminded why I don't like some of the moves!
Will stick it out for a few days before mixing up with Ri30 or NMTZ...
My sister has Yoga Meltdown and does not like it!
