Just putting a marker down for a new thread for the Shreddees! All welcome, and it's not limited to the Shred - all those working through any of JM's various forms of torture are very welcome.

Tango, you could mix Shred L1 with Ripped L1, or maybe one of her others - I keep recommending Killer Abs, though I know others aren't keen, and L1 is relatively gentle and would help strengthen your core (always following Elphaba's tips for modifying moves to protect your lower back).

Day 25 complete! I'm looking forward to day 31 when I watch all 3 work outs sat on the sofa with a bottle of wine and a bar of chocolate...

MagpieCursedTea · 06/02/2015 21:47

Great plan AtAt!

Tangoandcreditcards · 07/02/2015 07:06

I have ordered RI30. I'm going to have to move on from the shred at some point. I did it from my bed and am still lying here thinking I should get up and shred but wondering if maybe ordering a new DVD is enough for today.

Now that's what I call phoning it in.

blodynmawr · 07/02/2015 12:57

Grin at AtAt
30DS L2 done.
Have got over my cold and did not phone anything in today Smile so tomorrow is definitely L3.
Not a fan of L3 Shred and I usually mix it with No More Trouble Zones on some days but am thinking of trying Ri30 and Yoga Meltdown this time.

MagpieCursedTea · 07/02/2015 13:19

L1D4 complete! Getting easier but still needing to catch my breath two or three times. Already sick of the dialogue!

AtAt · 07/02/2015 13:44

magpie go into audio options, and you can have the music only on. Grin
D26 done. I did my shred late last night, and then again this morning before work, which wasn't the best idea. I was still tried from last night, so didn't work as hard this morning, but it's done for the day at least.

MagpieCursedTea · 08/02/2015 11:12

AtAt thanks for the tip but as irritating as it is, I think I need the audio or I'd get lost Blush

Just did L1D5, I know it's still early days but feeling proud!
Starting to quite enjoy the strength and abs bits, really disliking cardio though.

ErrolTheDragon · 08/02/2015 11:29

I find the music irritating, I wish there was an audio option for the voice but no music. I don't know how anyone would manage without it on some of the moves where you really can't be looking at the screen (leastwise not without doing something very bad to your 'form')

LeonardaCohen · 08/02/2015 16:47

Hello all, just done 30DS L2D3 - blimey, level 2 is hard. Or I am much less fit than I thought!

Just wondering for anyone that has completed this before, how much weight did you lose? Did you notice a big difference after the 30 days? I'm not looking to lose that much but am hoping my post-preg belly will go

AtAt · 08/02/2015 19:22

Have to shred. I don't want to, and I have to clean the living room first, which isn't helping..

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 08/02/2015 19:57

After the discussion earlier about Ri30 not playing on PS/XBox, what should I be looking for? If I buy a DVD that says PAL, will it play on a PS2?

Have fallen off the Shred wagon. We still have no running water and DH stubbed his toe yesterday (poor bunny) and is limping heavily. Quick poll: if you break a toe, can you still wiggle it?

AtAt · 08/02/2015 19:58

cheddar think it depends on the type of break. If it's a hairline fracture, I would think so, but it may really hurt.

ElphabaTheGreen · 08/02/2015 20:09

You can still wiggle it. Not much you can do about toes, unfortunately, except say, 'Gee, I bet that hurts.'

Tape the offending toe to the one next to it to splint it while also keeping it mobile and wear sensible shoes.

ElphabaTheGreen · 08/02/2015 20:19

Leonarda I'm on L3 and while I'm not counting calories as such, I am watching what I eat (sort of) and also doing a lot of walking, but I don't think I'm losing any weight. I'm not weighing myself but my clothing size is refusing to budge. I suspect I may be one of those that hangs onto weight while BFing, though. DS2 is a massive feeder (18-20 times in a 24 hour period. That is not an exaggeration. He is six months Hmm) so I think my body just hangs onto every calorie it can get to keep up!

AtAt · 08/02/2015 20:47

I weighed myself before I began, and I weighed almost 16 stone. I'm on day 27 and when I weighed myself a few days, I was 14.87. Not sure if that's a fluke and I haven't been brave enough to get back on again! I'm not on a diet, but I am just having fruit for breakfast most days, and have cut fizzy drinks out of my diet. I'm also trying to only have naughty snacks on the weekend.

MagpieCursedTea · 08/02/2015 21:56

That's brilliant AtAt!

ImogenQuy · 09/02/2015 06:59

Yoga Inferno L1 D6 done. I think I may give myself permission to modify the jumping lunges from the start every time: they hurt my knees and they make me feel (more of) an uncoordinated failure.

AtAt, I love your plan for Day 31 of the Shred -why did I never think of that? And congratulations on your weight loss - that's amazing.

Hi Unleash - Google IT Band Syndrome for your knee to see if that matches.

Puking baby here. Don't think Shred will happen today. He's just fallen asleep on my lap and I've not had breakfast Angry Fortunately, I've had coffee or else he would find himself ejected.

Tangoandcreditcards · 09/02/2015 08:42

Fallen right off the wagon. Not shredded since Fri and couldn't drag my butt out of bed this morning. posting here to prompt me to get back on it tomorrow.

Leonarda: I lost a stone (13st8 to 12st8) back in the summer - I didn't 'diet' - just laid off the biscuits. I put half of it back on over Christmas (but I was VERY greedy and lazy). At the end of the shred I definitely looked like I'd lost more weight than 1 stone (muscle denser than fat etc) and there was a visible difference after day 15. I'm struggling to get to day 5 at the moment, so doubt I'll see those sort of results. Grin

AtAt · 09/02/2015 09:29

I did weigh myself this morning, and am back to about 15, so must have been a lucky time when I weighed myself before. I am feeling good for doing the shred though. Day 28 tonight, almost there!
Well done to everyone else as wellThanks

AtAt · 09/02/2015 09:30

tango hope little one feels better soon

As I only did 3 days of Ri30 L2 last week, I stuck with that this morning - will do a day or two more, then L3 and hopefully some more L3 next week, but halfterm hols may disrupt my habits. Well, I don't want to either wake or disturb the revision of my DD who has GCSE mocks the week after that. (good excuse as it's perfectly true!)

Re weight loss - I started doing 5:2 at about the same time as shred, and have gradually lost over a stone. But apart from that, I've lost inches especially at the waist, while gaining some muscle, I'm definitely quite a lot stronger than when I started, which was my motivation for exercise more than weight loss. People do sometimes find when they start exercising that they may actually gain a little weight- (a) muscle is denser than fat and (b) muscles can contain extra water during the initial repair stage. That's one reason why it's a good idea to use the tape measure/jeans fit as well (or instead of) just scales.
