Looks like we'll get to 1000 posts before 1000 miles! We talk to much between runs Wink.

I would have thought that if you were sub 9mm you will beat 27 min fingersonbuzzers, it's only an extra .1 mile :)

Another parkrun to add here, 1 min slower than pb but it was really muggy here! Took my big doggy and although he ran really well he only pulls the first half if re first lap and then I keeping nearly tripping over him a lot of the rest!! It was warm for him so he had a little paddle in the pond when we'd finished :)

Makes a total of 756 I think!

Mitchy1nge · 17/05/2014 13:54

want to get to a parkrun so badly but it's incompatible with being lazy having horses and their morning routine

one day it will feel worth getting up for at 5am

today's run should have been 4, and the mid week runs should add up to 6 for the first 4 weeks but somehow I was already at 8 miles

postmanpatscat · 17/05/2014 14:49

I was second in my age group at parkrun today! Clearly all the other 45-49 females were having a lie-in Blush

fingersonbuzzers · 17/05/2014 15:01

Glad you enjoyed PR Morrigu, and that's an excellent time even if it wasn't quite a pb.

I don't know what it is about running in those sort of situations - everyone else looks like they know what they're doing and I just feel like a fraud being there Blush even though I know pr isn't competitive and people of all levels join in. I just get this thing in my head that I can't run at all.

I think I need a PR to go with, though, as that would take my mind of things. My friend has been recovering from surgery since christmas, but is going to start running with me now she's getting back on the mend, so maybe if she comes to PR that will help Smile

cinnamon I hope so! Was getting a bit confused at the maths, but worked it out and the 3 mile time must have been 26.24 so the extra bit on the end (which my garmin says was 0,14 miles, which I'm not so sure about) taking an extra 1 minute(ish) sounds about right. Something to work towards for me, anyway!

There were 502 runners at ours this morning and I had to run on the grass for a while at the start, so I'm hoping to be get a better time next time there are fewer runners. It's not much of a training strategy, granted Grin

patscat that's bloody brilliant, you should rightly be well chuffed!

KristinaM · 17/05/2014 15:30

Another 6 miles from me. 5km yesterday ( intervals ) plus Parkrun this morning

postmanpatscat · 17/05/2014 15:45

Thanks fingers but there were only 40 women out of a field of 83 so it's not an achievement I could replicate at your parkrun!!

Kristina's run brings us up to 762.

Blatherskite · 17/05/2014 18:37

I got a shiny new PB at parkrun this morning and finished in 25:18. The course I was on is much flatter than my usual course but being as I never thought I'd get anywhere near my PB again, I'm still amazed at myself, especially in the heat!

I got 4th in my age category but being as the lady that ran the Marathon des Sables was there and is also in my age category, I'm very happy with that.

ThursdayLast · 17/05/2014 18:59

Well done Blathers!

Blatherskite · 17/05/2014 19:06

There's a photo from near the beginning that shows me right on MdS lady's heels. I may keep a copy for bragging rights Wink

You'd have flown round Thursday. It was almost flat.

ThursdayLast · 17/05/2014 19:20

I was first in my age cat today. Then I looked at the results, I was also serving to last Grin

Can't wait to find a flat one to try Blathers, I got dizzy coming up the muddy hill bit earlier, had to walk I was so HOT

ThursdayLast · 17/05/2014 19:21

*second to last

fingersonbuzzers · 17/05/2014 19:40

Ooh blathers well done! That's a great time! I'm tempted to try Buckingham soon - wondering if it's anywhere near the soft play place there as the DC like it there and I thought they could come and cheer me on then we could go there for a bit. Will wait for some rubbish weather first.

Do you think you'll go there again? MK was rammed this morning (I've just worked out the extra 0.04 of a mile on my garmin was cos I was running on the grass on the outside of the route for a fair bit at the start Blush)

I'm tempted to drive somewhere quieter, but ashamed to admit I cba to get up and out any earlier on a Saturday morning Blush.

fingersonbuzzers · 17/05/2014 19:41

that should have said 0.04 of a KM!

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 17/05/2014 19:41

My first parkrun this morning was hot - must get some shorts and vests! I came in at 32:24 which I'm pleased with seeing as I've only been running for a few weeks. Enjoyed it and will definitely return Smile.

I think our total is now 765.1

Sirzy · 17/05/2014 19:43

Some great runs today well done everyone!

Well done kitty!
And well done for doing it!

Blatherskite · 17/05/2014 19:54

I think we will go back, yes. It's a good, flat, PB potential course which is always nice. It's near to Waitrose if that's any help? I have no idea where the soft play there is I'm afraid.

I thought MK might be busy. It always is when it gets warm. 503 there this morning apparently which would have been a course record again if the 30-odd of us that defected to Buckingham had been there too.

My friend and I were asking ourselves on the way to Leamington last week at what point leaving the house at 7am to drive for an hour to get to a parkrun became normal :) It soon creeps up on you. I did 40-odd at MK before I ever went anywhere else but I can't imagine only running there now. I've been really enjoying the tourism recently. I'm off to Cleethorpes next week Grin

ThursdayLast · 17/05/2014 20:00

I'd love a bit more variety, but I have to drive 25 mins as it is!
Really determined to try the 3 lap course at Southend in the summer

pootlebug · 17/05/2014 20:09

Well done to all the parkrunners this morning, especially those of you with new PBs!

Orange i really hope your cat turns up soon.

Fingersonbuzzers - totally know what you mean about the feeling of not being able to do it beforehand. I have my first triathlon in 12 years (and my longest ever) tomorrow and I feel totally bleugh about it.

Sirzy - good luck for tomorrow!

emummy · 17/05/2014 20:26

sirzy goodly luck for tomorrow. I will be thinking of you; unfortunately this stomach bug isn't shifting, so my first 10k will have to be the race for life at the end of June. Cheesed off but never mind. I hope all those running tomorrow have a lovely day with perfect weather!

Fishandjam · 17/05/2014 20:47

Best wishes for tomorrow sirzy!

Sirzy · 17/05/2014 20:54

Good news my cat is home!Smile We got a call late today from a lady living on the estate where he ended up saying she thought she'd seen him. DH drove up there and eventually found our cat hiding under a car. I think he's been very frightened and hungry but otherwise fine. He's just eaten some fish and a load of treats. I'm so happy!Smile A great end to the daySmile

Also good to read about everyone's park runs today. Well done! I must get round to doing one sometime soon.

Sirzy · 17/05/2014 21:35

Orangeflutie - fantastic news :)
