Thanks all. Really enjoyed myself (and the sausage sandwich after even more).

cinnamongreyhound · 17/08/2014 09:50

Oooo exciting OhOneOhTwoOhThree, going to try and persuade dh to come at least for the finish! My running buddy/rd friend is on 47 with me and we're aiming to get there together, but she's away this weekend so I've given her strict instructions to get to a parkrun! We've both got an rd slot before 13th too so should stay even :)

Blatherskite · 17/08/2014 18:52

Yay for all the parkrunning! A slow time is better than no times at all.

I bimbled round with a friend this week chatting all the way so I was nowhere near a PB but had a lovely run none the less. I don't get to see her very often so it was good to have a catch up as we jogged round. Yesterday was number 80 for me. That 100 shirt is beginning to feel like a distinct possibility rather than an idea for the future. Looks like it might be late January at the moment if I leave aside a few weeks off for RD duties.

I'm going to Richmond on the 13th unfortunately otherwise I'd be over to see you for your 50th cinnamon. Have a cake for me :)

HalleLouja · 17/08/2014 19:36

I was looking at parkruns in North London which is where I am from and not too far from where I live now.

One of the parks where its held I used to help run play schemes at and the other was at a lovely park near where I grew up so will need to try. Might see if my friend will join me.

Standingonlego · 18/08/2014 18:08

I am not quite sure if i will hit the parkrun 50th and WOLF double on same weekend quite yet OhOne....but it is a distinct possibility :)

Watch this space :)

Getting quite nervous about my tourism now, hopefully feel better once we're sorted and in our cottage!

Blatherskite · 20/08/2014 21:34

I still get nervous cinnamon and this Saturday will be my 18th different course. Have never quite got over not finding Barnstaple on that first try...

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/08/2014 18:03

Wow Blathers you are doing well on the tourism. I'm on about 8 different courses I think (plans for 3 or 4 others between now and Christmas Grin)

cinnamon have a good run tomorrow - remind us where you are? I have a feeling you are in Yorkshire, but have read back a bit through the thread and can't see a post saying that now Smile

If I've got the right course, I have a feeling that your home run is in danger of being cancelled due to a lack of volunteers this weekend cinnamon Sad

Banbury and Daventry start in the next couple of months OhOne. I know Banbury is a trek for you but Daventry might be do-able? They're pinching one of our RDs to be their ED so I will be there :) Both are the day before I do half marathons though so I'll be plodding round trying not to hurt myself like I did at Aylesbury.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/08/2014 18:23

It is because cinners is not there!

I am volunteering tomorrow

I am quite limited for tourism once the rugby season starts - DS1's matches are all over the Midlands, but not far enough for us to stay over the night before and try a new parkrun. DS2's are more far flung, unfortunately his tour to Scotland isn't over a weekend, but I do have at least one Yorkshire run in the diary Grin.

And of course if I go tomorrow I will be a day early Grin

That fb post frightened quite a few into volunteering blatherskite!! It really pisses me off! All the RD's apart from one are away and we have our least experienced rd in charge and she's already crapping herself that there's no one else there :( I read in the last newsletter that only 11% of parkrunners volunteer so we are not unusual.

I'm doing Redcar which is indeed in Yorkshire OhOneOhTwoOhThree Smile

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/08/2014 22:45

Ah yes, I remember now cinnamon! Enjoy!

Volunteering tomorrow Smile

ThursdayLast · 22/08/2014 19:52

Haha, just read the last few posts Blush

cinnamongreyhound · 22/08/2014 21:04

I've bought my wrong trainers so don't have my barcode Sad

curiousrugbymum · 22/08/2014 22:09

No barcode? Can you post on their Facebook site and fling yourself on their mercy as a tourist ? Worked for me onceWink

feetheart · 22/08/2014 22:41

Chichester parkrun last week with DS. He had eaten too many M&Ms much beforehand so got a stitch which meant lots of walking. He still managed to beat me in our usual sprint finish though - he clocked 32:26 with me at 32:47.
That's 3 park runs at 3 different venues and no sign of doing my local one yet :)

thenightsky · 22/08/2014 23:13

Very admiring of you tourists. If anyone ever comes to Scunthorpe you must let me know so I can find you for coffee after!

runlikeagirl · 23/08/2014 07:21

I'm volunteering this morning. Me and dh take it in turns to run because of kids, so I'm only about 23. That 50 will be a long time coming!

I always end up volunteering in the week leading, as we've two small kids (2 and 4)and they aren't always predictable.

Our home is Temple Newsam in Leeds, but I've also done st Albans, Bedford and Pontefract.

ThursdayLast · 23/08/2014 07:50

I'm not so into this having to brush my hair and think about what I'm wearing before I go to parkrun.

I normally brush my teeth, scrape hair into bun, drag on not too stinky running gear and start driving still a bit bleary eyed!

runlikeagirl · 23/08/2014 08:01

Can't you just give them your number for the unreadable list? And beg :)

HalleLouja · 23/08/2014 08:10

Feet you know you want to come to the local one. Grin

ThursdayLast · 23/08/2014 11:04

I LOVE volunteering

cinnamongreyhound · 23/08/2014 11:24

It's great in the warmer months ThursdayLast Wink I enjoy it because you get to talk to more people.

Well I didn't even get my speech as to why I didn't have my barcode, she said if you have it on your phone pop over to that guy and he'll write you down, yay! It was a lovely park, several bridges and 3 and a bit laps. Little doggy was the only dog and big doggy wandered around with dh and boys as he decided he didn't want me to go somewhere I didn't know on my own ahhhhhh
Surprised myself and managed 27:35!! Parkrun 48 done, I'm getting excited now Grin
