Another month, another chance to start/restart/continue the 30 Day Shred, or similar - ripped in 30, NMTZ, whatever your preferred form of torture exercise with Jillian you're welcome here for support, advice and motivation!

Badminton league matches? Sure as heck that must count as exercise! (I used to like playing bad badminton). You're nearly there, of course you can do it! But don't stress about it if you're still poorly.

Am totally out of synch with this, and have not shredded since last Thursday. I weighed myself which made me feel demoralised as no weight loss whatsoever. However, I feel more toned and hope to get back in the flow on Monday. I am just having a week off that's all after 4 weeks on.

NotQuitePerfect · 17/10/2013 08:01

I think that's the best way to look at it conquita Smile
Four whole weeks 'on' is pretty good going, and something I have never yet managed!
Ellebelly I remember that agony at the beginning, as JM would say "this is no joke"! But it soon goes and you will be amazed at how quickly you can do a whole Level of 3 circuits with no after-pain Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 17/10/2013 08:05

conquita - I'm sure its fine to have a break. I did a round of shred, then had a fortnights holiday, then did it again - no repeat of the dreadful aches!

thanks guys Smile looking forward to rejoining you on Monday

L2D1 of Ri30. I'm sure I'm not doing some of those moves right! And while I can do plank jacks and mountain climbers, having them both together in the same cardio interval was too much for my arms/wrists - I think I might have to swap over the climbers and high knees or something. But quite enjoyed it.

Then as the rain had cleared and the sun had emerged I went for a trot... to the third canal bridge which is further than I've ever done before. So that was about a mile walking (to and from canal) plus nearly 2.5 'run' - which is about 5.5 km in total !! (I don't mind mixing units if it sounds goodGrin)

Blimey Errol - well done! I took a slightly different approach after completing L3D3 as I went and sat outside my local coffee shop in the sun and ate a giant choc chip cookie Halloween Smile. It's interesting that you did the shred twice as I'm thinking I might do that. Did you do anything differently second time round? I'm sticking with Anita mostly at the moment but might try to be a bit more Natalie next time.

Will - I did a bit more Natalie - though not all esp pushups! and less stopping to catch my breath.

hi all,

thanks for your kind messages.

today is the worst day of all.Sad remembering is heartbreaking, but I think sometimes the build up to a sad anniversary can be way worse than the day itself - strangely I feel not too bad today and a bit more peaceful.

I still miss her Sad and will always find this day difficult, but in a few days I can put the sad memories "back in a box" till next time and get on easier.
Any spare hugs are greatly appreciated.

keep going you all, you are great inspiration!
( I'll be back on Monday.)

ElleBelly · 17/10/2013 17:09

I've only been a lurker on here up til now Zing, but always have spare hugs and squeezes. So sorry for your loss. Xx

ZingDollyChops · 17/10/2013 17:22

thanks Elle

Well done for sticking with excercise.

I did 6 days but this long "break" means that I'll do at least 6 more before moving onto level 2, so I'm not that much ahead of you.
in fact as you are actually doing it and I'm not, you are ahead in my book! Wink

ElleBelly · 17/10/2013 17:48

Well I did day 3 today and legs feel worse than ever, but you ladies are very good motivation! I don't know how I will physically make my legs squat tomorrow though.

NotQuitePerfect · 17/10/2013 18:13

Keep at it ElleBelly, it really will stop hurting soon Grin

Zing I cannot begin to imagine how it feels. But sending hugs anyway.

ErrolTheDragon · 18/10/2013 10:09

L2D2 of Ri30. swapped the mountain climbers and high knees, that worked much better. I can't see the thing where you stand on one leg doing arm exercises ever happening! And my upper arms/shoulders were a bit stiff this morning...glad its the weekend tomorrow!

Elle, honestly once you've warmed up you should be able to do it, and you're nearly over the worst.

Zing Flowers. (you've been exercising your mind anyway on those maths threads)

L2 day 6 done. Had lost 2lbs since last Fri when I weighed myself thus morning Smile!

NotQuitePerfect · 18/10/2013 12:26

this

ErrolTheDragon · 18/10/2013 12:58

Well done! My scales are gradually inching down despite eating a lot including chocolate entirely normally on non-fast days (I'm doing the 5:2 for health reasons and to stop the scales inching up unless I'm 'careful' all the flipping time).

OP posts:
NotQuitePerfect · 18/10/2013 14:06

Am intrigued by the 5:2 thing. So many people seem to have had amazing success with it - must do some research on it & give it a go soon! Smile

ElleBelly · 18/10/2013 14:54

Well I did day 4 today, think legs feel a tiny bit better? Still find sitting down on toilet painful! Haven't weighed myself, mostly because DP bought Doritos and biscuits home last night and I was too weak not to eat them. Fool!

EauRouge · 18/10/2013 19:03

Hello! I was planning to start the shred in Nov but I'm impatient so I started today. Just did day 1 on mostly level 1. The cardio I found quite easy being a runner, but my strength is similar to that of an anaemic mouse and I don't think I actually have any abs.

I'm watching the vid on youtube, should I be doing the same thing every day for 30 days or is there a week 2, 3 and 4? Thanks.

ErrolTheDragon · 18/10/2013 19:46

Hi Eau - anyone can join these threads anytime, the more the merrier. Smile

Most people do 10 days on each of the 3 levels of Shred but you can do more or less to suit yourself. You don't have to be able to do everything full 'natalie' style before moving on - I've done it twice and still can't do full pushups.

I'm not sure if level 2 is available on youtube, don't think L3 is, but the DVD is only a fiver from amazon.

OP posts:
EauRouge · 18/10/2013 21:47

Ohhh, I thought the different levels referred to the different difficulties of each exercise, I didn't realise it was a completely different video- thanks for letting me know! I'll think I'll order the DVD then, I wanted to try it out first to see how it went. The hardest bit was trying not to clobber DD2 in the head with the weights, she kept getting under my feet.

deeplybaffled · 19/10/2013 20:13

Level 3, day 7 done, only 3 days to go, but following errol's example, am thinking of starting again after my holiday with the vague hope of finishing round 2 this calendar year....

NotQuitePerfect · 20/10/2013 08:06

Did L2 day 7 yesterday with my amazingly supple yoga-bunny dd (22) who is home for the weekend. We had a laugh exercising together, but then spent the rest of the day grazing on carbs followed by a huge roast dinner & apple crumble Blush!
