Another month, another chance to start/restart/continue the 30 Day Shred, or similar - ripped in 30, NMTZ, whatever your preferred form of torture exercise with Jillian you're welcome here for support, advice and motivation!

Can I ask a daft question, do you all wear trainers when you're shredding? Cos I've been doing it bare foot on laminate floor and my feet and ankles aching a bit today. Just wondered if I'd be better with trainers on. Day 12 done today. Starting to be irritated by Natalie's grin, I'm sure I don't smile like that until the end!

SeaSalt1 · 29/10/2013 20:02

Thanks Wasabi that's good to know!

Elle, yes, I always wear trainers, think my ankles and knees would struggle from the impact otherwise.

wasabipeanut · 29/10/2013 20:17

I think a half decent pair of trainers are really important to protect joints from the higher impact stuff. They also help to stabilise you in things like squat thrusts and plank jacks.

ElleBellySkellington · 29/10/2013 20:36

I'll dig them out, thanks ladies :)

ErrolTheDragon · 29/10/2013 21:41

Elly - yes, def best to wear trainers - I had to do some of my first time round barefoot because I'd hurt a toe and couldn't get my trainers on, was much better with them - and that was on carpet. Do you have a mat for the floor stuff?

Defo wear trainers, you need all the support you can get.
Thanks for the info on ripped Errol, hope you enjoy the half term hols.

Well I did day 1 level 3 today, sweet baby Jesus! words cannot describe it. I couldn't do all the strength movements but hope my stamina will get better with each session. The mountain thrusts! at first I was jumping my legs back and forth but realised you don't jump, you just climb. I feel really really great though. I do the shred in front of a mirror so I can keep an eye on my form, and I rolled up my t-shirt and tucked it in my bra and was checking my abs out man! they are there, I just need to lose a layer of fat, but the abs are there!!!

conquita · 30/10/2013 22:19

Level 3 day 2. It is hard.

conquita · 30/10/2013 22:53

oh and carpet burns on the arms, not a great look. Tomorrow I will use a yoga mat.

wasabipeanut · 31/10/2013 09:24

Conquita I did L3D4 today. It isn't getting easier. By the end I have nothing left and I still can't do the sit ups Nat style

ElleBellySkellington · 31/10/2013 09:41

Just did D13 (4th day of L2). Phew! I think I enjoy L2 more cos I'm sweaty at the end of it, feels like its working! L3 feels like a long way off though. I'm struggling with the abs bit of circuit 2, my tummy muscles are useless.
Thankyou for the support and advice on this thread, been feeling blue recently and I feel noticeably better in the days I shred. So thanks for the motivation!

conquita · 31/10/2013 22:41

Elle, it makes such a difference to your mental head space that's for sure! Well done on keeping it up. I would not have kept this up without you guys support.
Wasi it is crazy isn't it.. the travelling push ups! I can't lower myself down properly. I actually dream of level 2! At least level 3 goes very quick though Smile.

I did not shred today, my abs feel like they have been punched. Also I didn't want to worsen the carpet burns.
