I'm 5 mins into the dvd and pop out for a sip of water.

DS2 looks at me: "Mummy, are you excersicing like that?"
me, looking at my clothes: "yes, why?"
him: "because you don't look fat like that at all! in fact you look lovely!" Smile Smile Smile

aaawww!

ZingWantsCake · 06/10/2013 09:46

L1D5 done, but had to take DS1 to Chapel so only back now.
looking forwards to hot shower then I'll concentrate on my water intake.

have a great day Shredders! Smile

WillColbert · 07/10/2013 09:02

L2D5 done. I found it so hard to motivate myself today - not sure if that's because I'm at the mid point or because I don't shred at the weekend. All was fine once I got going.

ZingWantsCake · 07/10/2013 09:51

AF arrived so I'm out till WednesdaySad

(first 2 days are so heavy, my blood pressure drops and even walking makes me feel dizzy)

I did walk to kids to school instead, pushing the double pushchair for an hour is kind of like a workout!Grin

good luck for today!

ErrolTheDragon · 07/10/2013 10:00

L1D3 of Ri30 and then I had a go at the L1 of Killer Buns and thighs... Some of that is really difficult even at the first level... I was quite relieved when I was interrupted by a phone call part way through the third set so didn't finish it.

Bumpotato · 07/10/2013 11:01

zing sorry to hear about your awful AFs. I had my second AF last week since starting Shred/ripped. There was a huge improvement in pain and I didn't have my usual day or so of flooding. Just one night when I was heavy overnight.

I mentioned it to my GP and she said that exercise can improve periods.

deeplybaffled · 07/10/2013 21:17

Level 3, day 6 done...wonder if there ever comes a point where I can get to the end and not be wringing wet?? All
Jillian, Anita and Natalie seem to do is glow healthily - I look like I've been dragged through a wet hedge backwards!

ErrolTheDragon · 07/10/2013 22:51

deeply - I'm sure they have air conditioning. We have nice natural moist air Grin

deeplybaffled · 07/10/2013 22:57

errol - thank you! I hadn't thought of that, so can only assume that our nice moist air had boiled my brain, along with everything else :)

conquita · 07/10/2013 23:24

Level 2 day 5 done, 3 days to go then level 3.

conquita · 07/10/2013 23:24

Also, meant to add I have ordered 30 days ripped shred to do next, in two weeks time!!!

DorisShuttAgainstGhosts · 08/10/2013 06:16

Can I sidle back in? Blush

Was supposed to start level 2 last week, but it ended up being such a crap week with work, health and general "stuff" that it didn't happen. However, I in a fashion very unlike me! just wrote it off and started again yesterday in level 2.

So... can someone explain wtf the skater jumps are?! I tried it and fell over, so went back to butt kicks. Quite like the twisty ab jumps though.

conquita · 08/10/2013 06:26

Welcome Doris! When I do the skaters I just leap from side to side with great gusto swinging my arms furiously.

DorisShuttAgainstGhosts · 08/10/2013 07:03

Yeah. It's the leap and cross that gets me into a "graceful" tangle Grin

ZingWantsCake · 08/10/2013 07:36

doris try a less wide stance to learn the move.

ErrolTheDragon · 08/10/2013 10:23

L1D4 of Ri30, followed by removing the junk that had accumulated on the rowing machine we've got in the garage and doing 20 mins on that. Which I'm pleased to find I seem to have more stamina to keep a decent pace going than last time I used it. Smile

Doris - glad you've jumped back in, even if in a tangle! Wink

I reckon the main thing with skaters is to start off in the right position. Have you tried just watching that section and doing it slowly to get the feel? I really like it!

Another one sidling back Blush!

Absolutely rubbish last week, managed 2 x days of L2 then nothing for 5 days.

Back in at L1 yesterday, then 40 x min brisk walk this morning followed by L1 again.

DS (18): "do you think you'll ever get to level 3 mum? Seriously?"

Yes I blooming well will! If it kills me,

Also trying to follow the Christmas Countdown/Renovation thread. All this grooming is exhausting but it's got to be good for us. Determined not to just give in to middle-age "meh" Smile

BurningAsh · 08/10/2013 11:57

Just completed L1D7 - I missed a few days towards the end of last week as I was doing a big clear out of furniture.

I'm aiming to look much more toned for a special even next week so added in L2D1 yesterday as well, now trying to decide if I can do D2 today.

Anybody else doing 2 workouts a day?

ZingWantsCake · 08/10/2013 11:57

notQuite

Grin @ your DS. best motivation? Wink

DorisShuttAgainstGhosts · 08/10/2013 12:22

NotQuite - I'm also following (but lurking and not posting) on the Christmas thread. Moisturiser, body brushing and defuzzing seem to be my main thing.

Still not giving up coffee though! Wink

DorisShuttAgainstGhosts · 08/10/2013 12:23

Oh. DS is going for a nap in a bit. I know I should shred... CBA!!!! Shock

Someone slap me!

WillColbert · 08/10/2013 12:25

L2D6 done. I couldn't manage 2 workouts a day Burning!

Bumpotato · 08/10/2013 12:36

I did day six of level 2 of ripped this morning.

That means I've now done 46 workouts since 18th August. I'm doing ten days of each of the ripped levels. I'm slightly firmer, I feel LOADS better to be finally be regularly exercising again (I went to the gym every weekday for years before kids who are now 9 & 5). However, I've only lost 5-6 lbs. I need to add a diet, because it is the weight loss I really need.

wasabipeanut · 08/10/2013 12:53

Hi everyone, not popped in for a few days. Had a day off on Sunday but did L1D7 this morning. Bit bored with it tbh. I not loving the idea of basically having to do this 5 days a week forever. I know it's good for me and I do feel better for it - it's just boring. I hate exercising! School managed to put me off sport forever Sad

Having said all that I am getting better. I'm now more Nat than Anita on the moves and managed a whole set of proper press ups this morning. Had to do the second set from the knee but hey - that's progress!

Doris I sympathise with your cant be arsed tendency - I share it :) This is why I get up and shred early. If I don't get it out the way first thing then it won't happen.

Burningash Is 2 workouts a day recommended? They are quite full on work outs and 2 may be overdoing it. Or maybe that's my laziness talking. I don't know, I'm not an expert (far from it) but that seems quite hard.

Zing also sympathising with horrible post baby periods. Mine took a year to return after DS2 and when they did it was horrendous - flooding etc. I'm now back on the pill which calms them down thank heavens.

Anyway, enough rambling and sorry for being negative. Happy Tuesday shredders!

Bumpotato · 08/10/2013 13:14

Wasabi I'm planning on mixing up the workouts after I've done ripped. I have six altogether on my iPod as I did shred level one one you tube. If and when I get utterly fed up I will look for more Jillian workouts online and maybe even invest in some more I iTunes.

I think that however boring we pretty much must do some form of regular exercise to help us be healthy in the long term.
