Another month, another chance to start/restart/continue the 30 Day Shred, or similar - ripped in 30, NMTZ, whatever your preferred form of torture exercise with Jillian you're welcome here for support, advice and motivation!

fubble

yay! well done!
I'm only a day ahead of you (and not the "baby" anymore!Grin ) and I agree with oooowwwww!

I can feel a bit of pain in my back and shoulders and in my pectoral (?) muscles.
my tummy is pleasantly ouch.
I get so breathless from the cardio bits! and thirsty too.

I know it is not possible, but I felt slimmer today!Smile

ErrolTheDragon · 02/10/2013 22:10

Well done - now you've started, you know you can do it!

Just done level 3, day 3 so getting there...have swapped pendulum lunges in for the jump lunges - less cardio, I know, but I think my knees will thank me overall. Or I suppose I could do the oblique twists instead from level 2? I'll see how creative I feel tomorrow about what to swap it with!

MyNameIsWinkly · 02/10/2013 22:47

This talk of levels 2 & 3 is scaring me!! :)

deeplybaffled · 02/10/2013 22:56

To be honest, I found the first couple of days of level 2 a bit overwhelming, as I'd got used to level 1, even if I still wasn't much good, and then the same again with level 3, as i had got the hang of level 2 to some extent. I'm still trying to get the hang of level 3....!
thinking that I might follow Errol's example and start again with level 1 if I survive level 3 and see if I might be able to manage more Natalie the second time round.
< I can dream, right??? >

another question:
I do the shred in the morning but feel like doing a bit of extra abs work in the evening. (I look about 6-7 months pg!)

is that a good idea? if yes, what should it be?

ErrolTheDragon · 02/10/2013 23:14

zing - why not, if you're up for it. Did you want another dvd recommendation or just put together moves you already know? (I don't know any other dvds myself). You could cycle through the L1 abs moves however many times you felt like with a timer.

I found when moving levels that there were some things I liked better and some less so.... I was glad to ditch the L1 pushups!

Sorry, winky and zing - that came across negatively and it wasn't supposed to! I think what my addled brain really meant was that after a couple of days, my body seemed to accept the new level as something it could muddle through, in the same way that level one started to "click" after a few days. so it isn't that scary really, as you know you adjusted to level 1, and that gives you the boost to believe that you can again. ( even if you are still spending a lot of time swearing at the dvd and wishing increasingly creative forms of misfortune upon jillian and co. Or maybe that's just me;) )

ZingWantsCake · 03/10/2013 01:53

deeply

no need to apologise, no harm done! I was only kidding! Grin

WillColbert · 03/10/2013 09:33

L2D3 completed. I know what you mean deeply about how it takes a few days to adjust to each level. Can't imagine I will ever be able to do the full version of plank jacks though!

ErrolTheDragon · 03/10/2013 10:03

L1D1 of Ri30 done.

There's one thing I really can't do - the abs thing where you lie on your back and are supposed to hold your legs elevated a bit. Looks east but hurts my back if I try it (and I don't have back problems in general).

I like that she says 'its not about perfection, its about effort' - just as well!

OP posts:
Bumpotato · 03/10/2013 10:10

Errol I built up in a couple of days to doing that. To begin with I had my legs slightly higher and pulsed it so that I still got some abs in.

Bumpotato · 03/10/2013 10:13

Oh and "give it to god"!!

ErrolTheDragon · 03/10/2013 10:17

Bump - thanks - I'll try your first suggestion (but pass on the second Grin)

Bumpotato · 03/10/2013 10:23

I think that's what she says! I was a bit wtf first time I heard it.

ZingWantsCake · 03/10/2013 10:53

L1D3 done.

it went a bit faster today and I found it no harder than yesterday Confused (although still finding it very hard just not worse)
what I am doing wrong?

all I can think is that the weights are not heavy enough.
fucking Amazon, where's my delivery? Angry

I did the butt kicks higher and only stopped once, but had to hold onto furniture as I felt loosing my balance.
But I dug deep at the very end and DID NOT STOP while doing the last set of skipping!

how's everyone?

ZingWantsCake · 03/10/2013 10:56

oh and during the last set of abs (the difficult one) DD kept on kissing my head and kept me going! such a sweetie! ?Smile

ErrolTheDragon · 03/10/2013 11:20

Well done zing.

it went a bit faster today and I found it no harder than yesterday confused (although still finding it very hard just not worse)
what I am doing wrong?

eh? why do you think you're doing something wrong?

L1D3 done - got up at 5.50 to do it before school run hell. I did feel quite smug when I finished my hot water & lemon at 7.15 having shredded, showered, dressed & even managed some slap!

I def hurt less today (thank heavens) and the 1Kg weights were fine. I feel wimpy now reading that you lot are packing 2kg plus! I may trade up in a few days if I feel I can. I actually really struggle with the cardio on circuit 1 Blush. It's the jumping jacks they just kill me. All other cardio - fine. I also struggle with the bicycle crunches at the end - I did manage a few today but on days 1 & 2 just did plain crunches. Seems to be a co ordination issue!

Can't believe I may be progressing to L2 in 7 days. I may cheat and do 2 weeks on L1.

ErrolTheDragon · 03/10/2013 13:50

wasabi - oh, well done, you deserve to feel smug!

ZingWantsCake · 03/10/2013 14:48

errol coz everyone says that day 3-4 they are dying!
and I wasn't

ErrolTheDragon · 03/10/2013 15:03

Maybe you're doing your stretches properly... I think I was OK during the exercise, it was walking downstairs some time later that was the killer!

OP posts:
ZingWantsCake · 03/10/2013 16:21

walking down the stairs is ow, ow, but I do stretch properly!

we'll see tomorrow! Wink

Vagazzled · 03/10/2013 17:36

L1D3 done Grin I'm using 1kg weights, finding them fine for everything but the chest flies, need something a little heavier.... How would a 4 year old work for that Grin
