Supposed to be working but could not resist challenge of new thread title!

OP posts:
rhetorician · 17/12/2011 23:22

good luck with the 20 fanny

sticky surely there must be a support group you can join?

dd1 has ear infection, dd2 has horrid cold, I am full of snot as well. Christmas cheer? Xmas Grin - girls had fun in hotel having hot chocolate and mince pies. Much to DP's relief there was not only a huge curtain she could hide behind, but there was another woman bfing her baby (she is, by her own admission, Irish and repressed about flopping her boobs out in public). We went out! All of us! and DP fed the baby in public/ And also expressed 3oz no bother this evening.

now, if I could only find some time to go running...

Themasterandmargaritas · 18/12/2011 07:37

Hello all I'm afraid I've no idea what you've all been up to recently as I've been flat out and no time to keep up sadly, so I hope December has been treating you all well

The goodnews is that I am finally garminified! It's a 110 and I've taken it out for a couple of spins. I have also signed up for Reading half, Kilimanjaro half and a triathlon at the beach!

I'm on the road to Tanzania for two weeks with a week on a remote beach GrinGrin so just wanted to say Merry Christmas all and here's to a great running 2012.

peachLFDTsmuggler · 18/12/2011 10:18

Ooooh master, . Your race itinery always seems so glam (Readin notwithstanding!) Enjoy your hols and Merry Chrimbo to the master clan!

Rhet, well done to you all for getting out there! And to DP for the public feeding. It has never bothered me, but the we live in a very pro-bf area. I can see that if I didn't it would be a different ballgame. I once fed DD1 in a Starbucks in the City which was full of a load of suits and it did feel a bit uncomfortable. Hope the colds and infections go away.! K is still very snuffly at night but fine during day. Probably cos she is either feeding, or on someone's shoulder or in sling!

My day for lie in, so in between feeding K on bed have wrapped DD's Xmas presents. Doesn't seem like she has my much....but then what does she need that she doesn't already have. Am a bit of an ascetic, non-materialist at heart but then, foisting that on a 3 year old at Xmas feels a bit scroogelike!!!!

orangeLFDThead · 18/12/2011 11:32

Hope you all feeling better soon rhet. Sounds like a good day Smile. The first bf in public always gave me confidence that it wasn't that bad. From being very shy about bf in public I ended up bf whenever needed with a thought and had lots of positives about it and no negatives.
Hello master glad you got a garmin, not at all jeaslous really. Have a good time.
Hope the 20 miles go ok fanny

peachLFDTsmuggler · 18/12/2011 13:03

Goodness, after my last post, fel. Back asleep on bed with K and we didn't wake up till 12.30. Awesome. Get together at friends house in a couple of hours. Must motivate. Those mince pies won't eat themselves!

Happy running, those of you who are out there. fanny, how was the 20??

fannybanjo · 18/12/2011 13:36

20 miles. 2hr58m average pace 8.56m/m. GrinGrinGrin. Chuffed!!

orangeLFDThead · 18/12/2011 13:40

Well done fanny, did you wear your trax or is it not too bad.
Just tried doing this squats this morning, they made me feel like my heart was going to pop out of my body and then ended up having another coughing fit, oh well back to the sofa then.

monkeyLFDTwench · 18/12/2011 13:48

Well done fanny!

rhetorician · 18/12/2011 14:29

great stuff fanny - you're on track for a good marathon time, I'd say

futurity · 18/12/2011 14:30

Blimey fanny ..that's amazing! Smile

Am also lying on the sofa Orange wondering when I will ever do any exercise again (self pity!)

peachLFDTsmuggler · 18/12/2011 14:32

Awesome work fanny, how do the legs feel?

ibbydibby · 18/12/2011 14:49

Brilliant fanny how are you feeling?

Master am v envious of your race plans.

Am just back from 10 mile Turkey Trot. Think did about 1hr 25 though not too sure as started watch just after race started. Lovely route around Beccles (Suffolk) & surrounding area, though more undulating than anticipated. Route was icy and snowy in places making the going underfoot a bit tricky at times. Also punctuated by a few snow showers. Not surprisingly there were very few spectators but was well marshalled. Entrants were given a Christmas pud at the end which was a nice touch.

ibby great work - full report please!! especially for the vicarious runners? please. I am ridiculously excited at the prospect of getting out for a bit tomorrow morning - think I might aim for 12k

monkeyLFDTwench · 18/12/2011 15:44

Wheelybug · 18/12/2011 17:19

argh.... Christmas getting in the way of mn !

Well done on the Turkey trot ibby - did you get a medal as well as a Christmas pudding ??? I like a medal me.

well done on the 20 miles fanny - great time too.

lots of great running going on. I am still running - intervals in the gym yesterday whilst dd1 was at a party there. long run tomorrow,11 miles. although feeling a bit chesty but doesn't seem to be coming to much so hopefully ok.

Glad thread babies doing ok. well done on the outing rhet and to your dp for getting them out in public Grin.

I have a Facebook query- someone is obviously 'one of us' but I am not friends with them (on FB obv). Trying to work out who it is before I send off a request - is it Bonkers ? I don't want to put the initials on in case you don't want me too but you were referring to rhet as a mad cow if that helps Grin

Right back to the list of jobs (currently looking at new house insurance.... Honest)

futurity · 18/12/2011 17:59

I don't think I have Bonkers on my FB? Just going through my list but I may be wrong. I still get confused who is who!

Wheelybug · 18/12/2011 18:12

No futurity - I've just had a nose peek and the mystery gal is friends with drno rhet moshi and sfx.

How's the neck ?

Wheelybug · 18/12/2011 18:14

just re read my first message of today and would like to clarify that the 'lots of great running' was a reference to you lot not my running by the way.

sfxmum · 18/12/2011 18:27

maybe we could PM around with initials and so on I only have a few notes on who is who but does not include all

hello all

fanny great times, you will ace that marathon

glad to hear babies are ok

hope everyone poorly is feeling better

had some time visiting with family today, still a bit out of sorts but will do at least a couple of miles tomorrow

dd still has a couple more days at school and dh at his job
have been polishing CV and preparing essay notes due Jan 5th

happy running and rest for those who can't yet

sfxmum · 18/12/2011 18:29

Wheely think mystery gal might be N4NNY? or maybe bonkers not really sure or Ibby Xmas Grin

futurity · 18/12/2011 18:56

wheely feels slightly better this evening actually...really hurt this morning so took the hardcore pain killer but that was at 11am and not had anything since and it isn't so stabby so we shall see. Saying that I have done nothing all day involving lying on the bed and occasionally on the sofa :)

DrNortherner · 18/12/2011 18:56

master welcome to the world of being garminified! Merry Christmas to you and your family. Enjoy the remote Island Smile

Wow fanny what an amazing 20 mile time you got there kiddo. How do you feel now? Knackered?!

wheely the Fber who referred to rhet as a mad cow is indeed bonkers, hope this helps!

No running for moi today as I donated a pint of blood, did 8 with dh yesterday, have a drill sesh tomorrow. Very cold here. I bought one of these very warm and it does a great job at keeping me toastie in all temps. Of course I wear my high vis bib at night too.

Off to snuggle with ds, only a week till the big day guys Grin

futurity · 18/12/2011 19:02

ahh...right..I have found Bonkers now on FB...off to request friendship!
