CAT stupid phone

AlmaWalkingInAWinterWonderland · 23/12/2011 12:31

Hope cat turns up soon, nice and safe Fanny. Maybe she's sheltering from the weather somewhere? Ours used to disappear occasionally in bad weather and then turn up fat and warm.

fannybanjo · 23/12/2011 12:34

Hope so. Sad I'm worried, she loves me the most this cat so sits on my knee, sleeps with us etc so I'd really miss her. People think you're daft but to me, our pets are family. It'll put a real damper on Xmas if she doesn't return.

DebiTheScot · 23/12/2011 12:45

Fingers crossed for you fanny, hope she turns up.

I've been for a nice 4 mile run this morn in the cold, crisp sunshine. F-i-l was going out so he dropped me at the next village & I ran back along the country roads. It was 3C but the wind was biting so I was a bit chilly in 1 layer! It was lovely to run in the countryside for a change.

Marzipan yuck, sprouts nice.

fannybanjo · 23/12/2011 12:53

Envy at you doing run Debi - weather here horrendous to say the least. Thanks and I'm sure she'll turn up.

DH at Costco.... 2 days before Xmas. Grin I pity the fool.

futurity · 23/12/2011 12:57

Big cat lover here ... Thinking of you fanny ... How old is she and how long has she been missing for ?

fannybanjo · 23/12/2011 13:11

Futurity - she's around 3, we rescued her early 2010. She's a lovely thing too. I'm so sad that she may be trapped or even worse, hurt or somewheres hurt her. . I love my cats, as does DH and the kids. I have told DD1 we will get another if she doesn't ever come back as in a strange way that softens the blow for her but i just want this one to trot in. Keep watching out the window but nothing. SadSad she is chipped so at least there's that.

Wheelybug · 23/12/2011 13:18

Oh dear. Hope the cat turns up fanny. Pets are definitely part of the family - especially the bigger ones. Hope DH makes it back from Costco too !

I have just despatched DH to waitrose (snigger) and to the charity shop to get rid of all teh toys I cleared out last night. The DDs are yet to notice.

Just been out for 6 miles in short sleeves as it's a balmy 11 degrees hereConfused. 6 miles with long hills and took me less than 50 mins. I managed to stop my watch for a minute or two mid run and it said 47.30 when I got back (which I was elated by until I remembered it had stopped for a bit. Still happy though).

Right on to this afternoon's domestic chores. A chestnut cheesecake to be made and 2 rooms to turn into bedrooms. Coffee first though.

peachLFDTsmuggler · 23/12/2011 13:21

Oh fanny, really hope she turns up, will keep everything crossed.

Sounds like a lovely run Debi!

Have managed to get K to sleep twice today in pram in house. Not for very long but enough time to pack and stuff. Result! DD1 if course wants to take her presents to Scotland....should have couriered them. Must do next year. We are finishing off fresh food in house but what I really want is a mince pie!

sfxmum · 23/12/2011 13:25

Oh fanny definitely part of the family. We are in motorway hell the impatient driver in the world did not want to wait in queue and we are now sort of lost. I post to keep mouth shut

fannybanjo · 23/12/2011 13:49

Grin sfx - keep gob shut otherwise murder may occur... Grin

wheely bloody brilliant run, bet your chuffed. I always aim to do sub 48 on 6 milers, don't always work that way...

I feel sorry for all you lot having to entertain at Xmas, I'm sat here with only few presents to wrap and then I'm done. Hope you aren't all too stressed.

Someone shout at me and tell me to stop letting rain stopping me from going on LSR... I've turned into a wimp.

DrNo hope all goes well with your mum. Keep strong and don't let her get you down.

P.S still no cat. Sad

bonkersLFDT20 · 23/12/2011 13:58

Am sitting at work waiting for the nursery to call when DS2 wakes from his nap. Then I am OUT OF HERE!
I put air in the tyres, topped up the water washer thingy and put more oil in the 22 YO Nissan Micra this morning so she is RARING to go.

Bumply · 23/12/2011 14:03

I like marzipan and sprouts. Strangely DS2 likes sprouts as well. Never known a child to like them before. DS1 hates both with a vengeance.

Not been running this week, other than 3k in gym as part of x-training session on Tue. I've been too tired with staying up ridiculously late and then not feeling like getting up for early morning run.

Still got my cough, and seeing Dr for something different she actually managed an intake of breath on hearing I'd had said cough for more than 2 months and has given me a referral to get chest xray to get it checked out. Don't think it can be anything too serious as it doesn't stop me running, just I could probably go faster if lungs were working to full capacity.

I've signed up for a 10k race in May (part of the Edinburgh Marathon festival), and I've got my bib and chip for the 5k on the 7th Jan.

Still trying to decide on whether to do a 10k on 21st Jan. I was googling for 10k races and came across this one in Buchlyvie. It's in the middle of nowhere, but only a couple of miles from where I used to live. Umming and ahing over having to travel to get there, but it shouldn't really be an issue considering I used to commute to Edinburgh from there every day...

Healing vibes for those who are poorly or injured.

Hope the thread babes enjoy their first christmas.

Happy Christmas to all if I'm not back on the thread before then.

sfxmum · 23/12/2011 14:06

Oh Lordy pissing down near Warwick. Need coffee, have been thanked for keeping gob shut and not giving. Reproachful looks that is near 20yrs together for you Grin

peachLFDTsmuggler · 23/12/2011 15:38

And we are off! In taxi on, both car seats successfully fitted. Yayyy.

That's a great time wheely. maybe go for 47 on Xmas day?

Hope the cat is back when you return from lsr fanny

AlmaWalkingInAWinterWonderland · 23/12/2011 16:33

Pets are definitely part of the family Fanny, although our cat has been in a permanent state of grump since we had the kids. We have two guinea pigs as well who are fab.

I'm sick in bed while PIL are downstairs, quite convenient really! We took the DCs on Santa Special train, then DH is going to Lidl later (hahahahahaha). That'll go well...

fannybanjo · 23/12/2011 17:00

Managed 6 miles, 48 mins average pace 8.00m/m.

Cat still not back. Sad

LittleChiefRunnyCustard · 23/12/2011 18:06

Just been out for a walk/run with heart rate monitor. I am glad I had the HRM on as I was feeling a bit nauseated due to foolishly letting my citalopram run out this week. I usually run an easy run with my HR about 145 - today it was sitting at 150 just walking slowly Shock. Everytime I jogged for longer than 30 secs it shot up above 160. I am sure if I had not had the HRM on I would have ended up puking in a ditch somewhere. As it is I did 4 miles in magnificent 16min/miles!

Have your neighbours checked their garages and sheds Fanny? One of our cats is always getting stuck in them - he even got into the space between the breeze blocks of our own garage wall last summer.

fannybanjo · 23/12/2011 18:18

The. Cat. Is. Back!!!!! Yeahhhhh!!! DD1 and I cried!

littlechief good job you had HRM on. What's the medication for?

LittleChiefRunnyCustard · 23/12/2011 18:25

It's an antidepressant - I need to take it every winter otherwise I can't get out of bed.

Glad cat is back - is she ok? Last time one of ours disappeared he came back with an infection in his paw.

rhetorician · 23/12/2011 18:38

very quickly - another busy day - DD2 not keen to be put down; off to residents' carol singing with DD1, and then home to put her to bed/have dinner and back out for a few post singing drinks...good luck to all the travellers - hope you arrived safe and sound, and hope those staying put are tucked up warm and toasty Xmas Smile

peachLFDTsmuggler · 23/12/2011 18:42

Yayyy fanny, so glad the cat has returned. Great news. And well done on your run too!

God bless the HRM chief!

Sitting in Gatwick, waiting on gate being called. K been asleep since we left!

fannybanjo · 23/12/2011 18:46

littlechief Sad so sorry, hope you didn't think I was prying. Blush is it a form of SAD you have? My mum also very low in winter, I'm sure she suffers a form of it.

rhet busy fambo hey! Have a good one.

peach have a safe journey and so pleased that K being good. Best wishes to your dad also, very sad time for him,

LittleChiefRunnyCustard · 23/12/2011 18:52

Not at all Fanny. It is SAD but I have been unlucky enough to have it during a summer pregnancy too. I feel fine if I take the anti-Ds and sit myself in front of a light box every day. Has your mum tried a light box? My DM has milder symptoms than me and gets by just using a light box for 20 mins a day between October and March.
Running helps a lot too Grin.

futurity · 23/12/2011 18:54

Yay to cat returning!

I was on that anti-depressant for a year, 6 years ago I think it was...went on it just before Xmas and came off just before a year later. It helped me through a grim time and I started to run whilst on it and did my first Race for Life during that year.
