orangeLFDThead · 22/12/2011 22:08

No not been back to docotors yet shred. I will give it a couple more days for antibiotics to kick in.

peachLFDTsmuggler · 22/12/2011 22:15

Mo has the same birthday as me! He is however, significantly younger...

rhet, I am often accused of being a doctor due to my scrawl.

fanny, you didn't miss much running, put it that way ; )

fannybanjo · 22/12/2011 22:21

Oh I'm on the fence re marzipan. Can't take it in a Mr Kipling Battenburg but not on a Tesco Christmas cake.

rhet get thee to Wilkos. Pack of 50 bin bags. Take no prisoners and get rid of anything that has a 1/2p label on it. Job done.

fannybanjo · 22/12/2011 22:21

Can take it not can't!

AlmaWalkingInAWinterWonderland · 22/12/2011 22:22

Made it to running club tonight but not a great session. There weren't many people (or coaches) there so the beginners group got merged with the next group up - unfortunately only the only other beginners were 2 of the fastest. We did speed sessions, 3x1k which were OK but I was lagging way behind. I've not really shaken off this cough yet and it was quite demoralising really. During the normal jogging (not the speed sessions) we weren't doing any looping back and they stopped to wait for me a couple of times but started again as soon as I caught up. The coach was running ahead with everyone else as well so it was a bit lonely way behind everyone else! Very glad I went though, good to get a session done before Christmas and I feel very virtuous now. Went for a haircut afterwards to treat myself :)

Bit surprised about SPOTY win, didn't watch it but saw it announced on Twitter. Someone has edited Mark Cavendish's Wikipedia page to be less than complimentary about the win Xmas Confused

ShredMeJillianIWantToBeNatalie · 22/12/2011 22:24

wheely naughty you interfering with the Virgin Mary. Just make sure there's enough left for the Baybeh Jeeeesus as ds3 calls him.

Well cest sadly no obscure novelty electrical items. But I was right about the alcohol. DH was "too tired" to carry more spuds but strangely managed to lift several bottles of Hoegaarden with ease Grin.

peachLFDTsmuggler · 22/12/2011 23:01

Just watched The Hobbit trailer sfx. Oooh! Hope the journey goes well tomorrow. We are leaving in cab at 3.30 tomorrow. Flight not till 7 but need to feed my own face DD1 at airport. Let us see what travellng with two wee ones is like...

sfxmum · 22/12/2011 23:07

peach is that am? we must geek up together sometime next Christmas Xmas Grin

was looking at races online with dh we are daring each other to do a half by Autumn, oh yes we will

still have to finish wrapping and packing

rhetorician · 22/12/2011 23:08

am or pm, peach. Fair play to you as they say round here, can't imagine getting beyond the ring road, personally...

bonkersLFDT20 · 22/12/2011 23:15

Finished my wrapping! It's a Christmas miracle!

Trying to sort out the house ready to leave for over a week. Found about 15 bananas in the outside bin. My DH eats loads of bananas and obviously didn't get around to eating them before he left so thought outside would be a good place for them. They are still hard, but sort of brown and green to look at. I have put them in the freezer and will make a mahoosiv banana loaf in February.

Alma well done for going to your club. You can put your feet up now for a few day. Wouldn't want to mess your nice hair up and all.....

Peach isn't fluffy duck a drinking game?

Rhet good luck with the nursery tomorrow!

I like marzipan AND sprouts.

1/2 day at work tomorrow. I suggested the boss bring in his dance mat. He thought I was joking.....

peachLFDTsmuggler · 22/12/2011 23:29

Fuck no sfx! PM!!! DP looked horrified when I said film wasn't out for another year!

bonkers, you are making bread with bin bananas?!? Wink

Rhet, it's gonna be fine. Taxi to Gatwick, then picked up in Edinburgh. What could be less stressful with a 3 year old and a 4 week old!!! Grin

fannybanjo · 22/12/2011 23:38

I'm having palpitations remembering when we moved house, DD1 school and DD3 was only 5 weeks old, DD2 17 months... . I was unpacked (not one box left) within 48 hours. Grin My Auntie didn't recognise me when she saw me a week later, I look so wretched. It was horrendous. It's amazing what you manage to do when you have to. peach travelling with newborns easier than with 3 year olds! Honest! You'll be fine.

sfxmum · 22/12/2011 23:49

Best of luck peach there are video logs on youtube documenting the production Xmas Blush

fanny that is impressive, last time I moved I was heavily pregnant and slightly mental

alma really good effort you should be well pleased with yourself

bonkersLFDT20 · 23/12/2011 00:00

peach I feel the need to clarify. The bin is not used for rubbish, we put out glass in there for recyling and the bananas were in a carrier bag.

So feel free to drop by for banana bread in February!

Night night folks. Looking forward to lots more inane drivel from you lot tomorrow!

LittleChiefRunnyCustard · 23/12/2011 08:22

Hi Squix. The Smokies is a great race but I think it is probably full already. There are only 400 places and I got no. 328 about 3 weeks ago - worth a try though. I love doing the Smokies - it is one of our club favourites. The route is described as "undulating" and we all know what that really means! Sandwiches, home baking and spot prizes more than make up for the hilly course.

I nearly inhaled my coffee wheely - leave that poor virgin alone.

I really need to do some toy clearance too but am complicating matters for myself by vowing not to throw anything in the bin that could be sold, donated or recycled. What I should do is just run round randomly shoving things into black bags and throwing them into the big bin before my kids can sense what I am doing.

peachLFDTsmuggler · 23/12/2011 09:12

fanny, that sounds insane!

sfx, thanks, I shall check those out!

Ahh bonkers, that makes more sense!

We have just "done" Xmas with DD1. Biggest hit was the Princess Celestia "talking" My Little Pony. Sample phrase "I'm a princess, are you a princess too?" . less successful was the poundshop Xmas bowl in her stocking. "That's a bit strange Santa" Hmm

right. Stupid amounts to do and a mere 6 hours to do it in!!

DrNortherner · 23/12/2011 09:14

Morning All, might not get time to post much over the next few days. Off to do some housework, then picking up my mother. Things already a little tense here due to her pending arrival as I am an emotional fuckwit when it comes to her. Then food shop, then relax before the big day.

Hope you all have a truly wonderful Christmas Smile

AlmaWalkingInAWinterWonderland · 23/12/2011 09:36

Fanny - that move sounds insane! Very impressed.

I loved the Hobbit trailer, we were big fans of LOTR so geeking out about it a little bit. Year to wait though :(

Woke up feeling shocking today, think I really need to learn when I'm well enough to run and when I'm not!

ShredMeJillianIWantToBeNatalie · 23/12/2011 09:46

Banana bread sounds nice mmmmmm ......

peach good luck with the journey!

drN I hope all goes ok with your mum. It's a trying time isn't it, I have thus with my MIL where there's a hell of a lot of silently counting to ten. Then twenty. Then thirty.

Talking of insane moves, last time I was 20 weeks pregnant with twins, ill, having a horrible time at work, and we had the Bastard Buyers From Hell. Oh and three days before we moved someone set fire to my car. Nice. Would like to move next year but I'm dreading even thinking about it.

peachLFDTsmuggler · 23/12/2011 09:57

Agree. Am never moving again, unless it's back to Scotland. If the owners want to sell this house then I'm just going erm..squat.

Hope you have a wonderful Xmas DrNo, sympathies on the mother situ. Gritting of teeth and pints of Baileys in order!

Oh dear Alma, take care of yourself today!

cestlavie · 23/12/2011 10:27

Jesus Christ. Just back from Waitrose. It was like being back in 'Nam. There was some serious shit going down in there. (Shudder). I literally saw a sweet old lady pistol whipping a shop assistant over a tub of spilt bread sauce and a young mother pull a shotgun on another mum over the last mince pies. Folks, do not go to the supermarkets today. They are bad places.

Oh, and having just moved house I would heartily recommend never doing so. It's awful!

Right am off to start drinking now in advance of pantomime this afternoon. Just joking. Sort of. Definitely no running for me today though.

(okay, not actually literally, more figuratively)

fannybanjo · 23/12/2011 11:14

Oh everyone keep your fingers crossed. DD1's beloved cat gone missing and she's distraught Sad she's never done this before. DH looking for her - weather horrendous. I pray she's just stuck somewhere.

stickyLFDTfingers · 23/12/2011 11:14

I did some running! Only 4.5 miles, but it was very nice. Really enjoyed the non-icy (but rather rainy) conditions too.

alma get well soon! What a time to be ill :(

drno hope all goes well with the mother. Deep breaths, count to ten, walk out the room- go for a run! Have a lovely Christmas.

Also can't wait for the Hobbit. I love Martin Freeman, so hope he comes up to scratch. The clips that you've posted look good sfx.

cest are you sure you were in Waitrose not Iceland? Iceland scares me at the best of times...

peach that pony sounds truly hideous. I just can't see the appeal of them, but both my DDs are big fans {bleeeeergh}

Everybody have a wonderful Christmas! Hope you get lots of running in (jet propelled by the sprouts perhaps Wink) and have a good rest too. See you all soon xxxx

sfxmum · 23/12/2011 11:22

DrN sympathies hope it goes as well as possible

peach there were 2 white Shetland ponies on stage last night leading Cinders carriage they know their audience Grin

Re Freeman all that I have seen bodes well.
alma get well soon

What did I say about leaving? Packed car sat here waiting for last 15mins, fixed smile

Supermarkets oh no 'tis madness the only place and time that WW3 breaks out over sprouts

sfxmum · 23/12/2011 11:26

Meant to add fanny hope car is found safe and sound Sad
