Supposed to be working but could not resist challenge of new thread title!

OP posts:
ShredMeJillianIWantToBeNatalie · 22/12/2011 16:59

Hah! futurity got there first!

notyummy · 22/12/2011 17:01

Just popped into to say how much I love Shred Me's name Grin. Was on this thread for a while and still run regularly (well twice a week at the moment...), but work and winter mean I have done nothing over 8 miles in months. I do a lot of Jillianing though!!

peachLFDTsmuggler · 22/12/2011 17:06

shredme did you see that program the other night about the two rival houses with all the Xmas lights. T'is a very strange sub culture!

cestlavie · 22/12/2011 17:11

Thanks shredme, the kids will love the house and since I'll be leaving any sense of taste or rationality at home for the afternoon it'll be a perfect way to round off the day...

Yep peach saw that programme whilst DW was out on the town. 'Tis a bizarre sub-culture indeed (and reminds me of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation!)

Good to see you again notyummy!

ShredMeJillianIWantToBeNatalie · 22/12/2011 17:17

Why thank you, notyummy! No shame in a bit of Shred!

Yes I saw that programme, I thought it was a bit sad when the brothers were saying it was all to do with their dad who died Sad. We love NLCR in this house, watched it at the weekend ......

AlmaWalkingInAWinterWonderland · 22/12/2011 17:33

One house near us always has a great Christmas display. This year they have new neighbours who also put up lots of lights - cue the old house getting a load more stuff. Still, it does look pretty, although DD thinks that's where Santa lives.

sfxmum · 22/12/2011 17:38

peach that is how it is done plus lively buttered chestnuts

cest Panto might not be too painful just sat trough one quite entertaining but you do need a stiff drink prior to sitting down

stickyLFDTfingers · 22/12/2011 17:45

I must have the most juvenile sense of humour - I love panto! Or maybe it's because the Newcastle one is particularly funny probably not.

ONly managed more Shredding here. I guess I should move on to level 3, but I'm scared....

Am very impressed by the toy culling. I did mention that there would need to be space for new toys, so perhaps some old ones could go to little children who didn't have any toys.... didn't cut any ice. I should have done it while they were at school.

squix sounds like you've been having fun!

Wheelybug · 22/12/2011 18:01

No peach my list is the old fashioned pen and paper sort. More satisfying to cross things off. It is sorted into days as well, thereby less daunting !

I love panto. Dh doesn't (or at least pretends not to) but I always insist on it between Christmas and new year. sfx - I heard Richmond (is that where you went) is good this year. We're going to Wimbledon.

In other news - I have opened my marzipan to find it is sort of yellow not White as the packet suggests. All rolled out and now I can't get the jar of apricot jam open. Whose bloody idea was it to make a
Christmas cake anyway ???

Wheelybug · 22/12/2011 18:02

Aha! Just got cross with it and it did the trick Grin

sfxmum · 22/12/2011 18:31

wheely that us the one thought last year's was better but still fun the ugly dusters were very good almost too bawdy, missed Tim Vine better that thus guy Jenny Eclair was sick so got understandy

peachLFDTsmuggler · 22/12/2011 18:36

sfx, you win the award for worst spelled/iPhone autocorrected post, my dear ; ))) Can I come to you for sprouts and chestnuts???

Sorted into days too wheely??? wow, that is organised! I am impressed. My problem with lists is that my handwriting is so appaling that I often cannot read it 10 minutes after writing. Which is why I NEED an ipad.

peachLFDTsmuggler · 22/12/2011 18:37

I would be tempted to take the cake outside and drop kick it into the bin by that point...

sfxmum · 22/12/2011 18:43

Yes peach but oddly sort if in the spirit of things and almost accurate Grin still have to pack I never leave it this late, starting to twitch and we are still in town

Wheelybug · 22/12/2011 18:44

The Marzipan is on Grin

Bet you can't wait for the icing instalment.....

peachLFDTsmuggler · 22/12/2011 18:45

You should set up a webcast wheely!!!

squix · 22/12/2011 18:48

shred that's the one that gets me too!

peach - no more rowing on the water but I have used the machine in the gym a few times. Starting to get a tiny bit concerned about the event - more concerned about the conditions than anything else. I expect I shall look like Envy if it gets too choppy.

sfxmum · 22/12/2011 18:50

See you have your little helper there Wheely bring on the icing
Dh swearing at drivers so glad this is not a daily event, so looking forward to more of this tomorrowHmm

squix · 22/12/2011 18:51

Oh - and I have made my Christmas cake but don't ice it. I do however feed it with brandy every week for 6 weeks to keep it moist / make it v. alcoholic

peachLFDTsmuggler · 22/12/2011 18:51

Are you leaving hideously early to avoid traffic tomorrow sfx, or, like any normal person, fannying around for hours beforehand!

peachLFDTsmuggler · 22/12/2011 18:54

Good idea squix, am not mad about the icing and the less said about the marzipan the better. Not that I have ever, or probably will ever, make a christmas cake....

Wheelybug · 22/12/2011 18:58

The cake is DONE !

Feel free to resume your normal lives Grin

peachLFDTsmuggler · 22/12/2011 19:14

Ooooh! Fb picture???

sfxmum · 22/12/2011 19:29

Well done Wheely will be looking for pic
peach ah blardy ah if we ever leave before 12 it will be a miracle, the only time I manage to marshal them out on time is when we have a train/boat/plane to catch. And even then I lie that it's booked at least an hr earlier to instil a modicum of haste.
It is the only stressful but of holidays for me

sfxmum · 22/12/2011 19:30

Stressful bit
