Runners United - Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

All ye fine runners who wish to get together to discuss running-related topics, or otherwise, come and join us here. We are a friendly and incredibly supportive group of runners, varying in ability, but all bonded together by a common theme of loving running, committed to squeezing it into our busy lives and wanting to improve our own PBs. So whether you are a full-time mum, part-time working mum, full-time working mum, working from home mum, mum who is studying, or even a dad Grin, add your race to the list so you can be sure of some moral support and advice along the way. And if you aren't racing, don't worry as you can enjoy the race reports and race vicariously.

I've got more the George Michael than the Santa, but clearly not in the same class as fanny.

Given up on Sky, just fancied some crap telly while I ate my dinner for one. Watching Rita Sue and Bob Too Smile.

fannybanjo · 08/12/2011 21:28

I'd paint in huge red letters DANGER above mine. G'awn sticky get artistic and post some pics.

monkeyLFDTwench · 08/12/2011 21:29

sticky you need some glitter too for festive cheer?!

fannybanjo · 08/12/2011 21:30

Ahhhh Rita Sue and Bob Too is Q.U.A.L.I.T.Y! George Michael circa 1982 or 2005?

fannybanjo · 08/12/2011 21:31

My muff is buff. That is all.

monkeyLFDTwench · 08/12/2011 21:42

Ha ha, I should say more 2005 - just think of all that bleach and hairspray in '82!

stickyLFDTfingers · 08/12/2011 21:47

oh yes, you can buy edible glitter in Fenwicks...

I saw George Michael in a pub once. He was a really odd colour and his hair was all plastered down with too much gel. So I'm wondering about you now monkey

monkeyLFDTwench · 08/12/2011 21:54

I imagine him being quite short sticky, was he? No stranger to being tangoed spray tan I should think ....

stickyLFDTfingers · 08/12/2011 22:01

yes, he was disappointingly small and orange. I was so in love with him aged 10.

YeahThatsTheBadger · 08/12/2011 22:25

I've been struggling to read the last few posts because I've been laughing with tears in my eyes at the muff posts! Grin

Not been on here for a week or so. So, a big congrats rhet. Lovely pictures on fb. There have been quite a few of you with recent pics of little ones on fb. Whose DD has the beautiful blonde curly hair being cut? ( peach ?) She looked very cute! Oh and glad that the babies are easier 2nd time round for you both.

Well done on your first night at running club fanny.

Good luck for the job possom.

Orange so sorry you didn't get better news from the docs. Hopefully you get to see a different doctor when you get the test results, who may refer you sooner.

Only got to the gym once this week. Feeling knackered and a bit sicky, and dragging myself onto the treadmill hasn't made me feel any better but it hasn't made me feel any worse either. Going to try to get out Saturday in the open air for a change.

DebiTheScot · 08/12/2011 22:33

I've been trying to read this even

DebiTheScot · 08/12/2011 22:34

Grr stupid phone.

I've been try

DebiTheScot · 08/12/2011 22:36

Let's try again on the app rather than the mobile site.

I've been trying to read this evening's posts without laughing as if I laugh dh will want to know what I'm laughing at and if I try to explain it just won't be funny Grin

fannybanjo · 08/12/2011 22:39

What. The. Fuck. There's photos of %23babyrhet on FB! What about us who aren't allowed FB accounts?! Hey rhetorician email me just one photo pleaseeeee!! (when you've got a minute like)

badger I ask you this... Is your muff black with a white stripe through it? Wink

I have to laugh at when GM came out the closet. I mean, who on earth ever thought he was straight... me

stickyLFDTfingers · 08/12/2011 22:43

fanny I understand you've had the problems with FB in the past - but I understand some MNers have a fb account set up with their MN name, so as to preserve their anonymity. Would that let you stay safe from dodgy blokes while at the same time seeing all the cute baby photos? They are really cute!!

monkeyLFDTwench · 08/12/2011 22:43

I know fanny, I felt the same about Freddie Mercury Grin.

stickyLFDTfingers · 08/12/2011 22:44

oh yeah, me too with George. I didn't develop a gaydar til I was about 20!

fannybanjo · 08/12/2011 22:45

debi I'm like that, DH goes mad!! Best was the trip to Costco to buy everyone a load a snow Trax. I said "no, I've never met them, yes they'll pay me, yes, it's a bit mad buying things for strangers BUT you just don't understand...". He smiles cos he thinks I'm actually very sweet under my tough demeanour.

Badger sorry to hear you're unwell. Don't go mad if your ill.

To get back to the rubbing spirit of things, I'm entering the Wrexham HM in Feb. so that's a HM in Jan, Feb, March and marathon is April.

fannybanjo · 08/12/2011 22:48

sticky I broached the subject with DH a few weeks ago. He hates it and after all the shit I had with it, I kind of agree. Me and FB don't mix well.. People take my humour the wrong way and think I want sex with them.

fannybanjo · 08/12/2011 22:49

Sorry multiple posts but do you think
I've become a race addict? I mean, REALLY?

stickyLFDTfingers · 08/12/2011 22:52

I think it's brilliant you've entered lots of races fanny. I'd imagine the running club people would be entering lots? The local club here organises transport etc, so there must be take-up? You go girl. Keep on keeping on racing. Etc.

fannybanjo · 08/12/2011 22:55

It's very obsessive compulsive behaviour though isn't it? Like the racing equivalent of my ironing. Hmm. Thanks though sucky and any more thoughts re Marathon?

runnerstipple · 08/12/2011 22:55

Wow fanny you are hard core - a hard core rubber that is. I'm freaking out about one HM and a 5 miler both in March.

stickyLFDTfingers · 08/12/2011 22:57

who are you calling sucky, fanny Xmas Grin

I'm holding the thought on the marathon. I had thought I needed to be decided by 30/11, but actually the saving for enrolling early was only £5. So I'm going to see what's happening with the rest of my life before entering, and keep on training as if I am going to do it.

fannybanjo · 08/12/2011 22:58

Hardcore Fanny. I like it. Tipple you'll be fine, which race is first? I did 2 HM within 2 weeks and it was great. Took it easy between the two.
