Runners United - Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

MoshiMoshi · 29/11/2011 09:04

All ye fine runners who wish to get together to discuss running-related topics, or otherwise, come and join us here. We are a friendly and incredibly supportive group of runners, varying in ability, but all bonded together by a common theme of loving running, committed to squeezing it into our busy lives and wanting to improve our own PBs. So whether you are a full-time mum, part-time working mum, full-time working mum, working from home mum, mum who is studying, or even a dad Grin, add your race to the list so you can be sure of some moral support and advice along the way. And if you aren't racing, don't worry as you can enjoy the race reports and race vicariously.

Haven't told him it's both ends yet either - no easy way to tell him that one!

monkeyLFDTwench · 05/12/2011 21:52

Harsh but fair fanny, harsh but fair.

Noticed we're talking at cross purposes here bum-wise?!

fannybanjo · 05/12/2011 21:54

Jesus I had one up the jacksy when I was 18 to check for Crohn's Disease (my brother has it) and I nearly bit the nurse's hand off. We are discussing endoscopy now aren't we...

fannybanjo · 05/12/2011 21:55

squix · 05/12/2011 21:57

Ohhh rhet & family - congratulations Grin

monkeyLFDTwench · 05/12/2011 21:59

Hope so fanny! Luckily they will be knocking him out for this one! Can't say I fancy a camera up the tradesmens ......

orangeLFDThead · 05/12/2011 22:00

fanny paypal on the way to you. Had to use dh account as for some reason I can't log into mine.

fannybanjo · 05/12/2011 22:02

Cheers orange! All we need is ice and snow to look complete twats in our Trax!

orangeLFDThead · 05/12/2011 22:06

Poor ds monkey Do you have a date yet?
I have had one both ways (the endoscopy that is) Wink. The one up the backside makes you do the most loudest longest farts for the rest of the day. Dh took me to the hospital and bought me home we had only been going out a few months o I was very [bush] Blush Blush

orangeLFDThead · 05/12/2011 22:12

New video on youtube for this years goody bag for the stockport 10, no song though Sad and nothing wormy [wipes brow, thank goondess] and the person sounds a little like me when runnning Blush

monkeyLFDTwench · 05/12/2011 22:18

Oh God orange really? Given that's one of his problems, I can only imagine .......

Few years back I was woken by a loud rumbling noise in the night and assumed it was ds2 farting in the next room. It wasn't. It was Buncefield exploding about 8 miles away from us - the largest peacetime explosion in this country since World War II!

orangeLFDThead · 05/12/2011 22:22

Grin they are that loud.
They pump you full of gas to seperate everything and have a good view, its got to come back out.

monkeyLFDTwench · 05/12/2011 22:25

Oh yeah I had similar with a hysteroscopy - except they used freezing cold water instead of gas and I couldn't stop shivering afterwards!

peachLFDTsmuggler · 05/12/2011 22:43

Aww poor wee DS2, monkey, hope he is ok with it. Never had an endoscopy. Can't imagine they could fight their way past the hanging jungle vines haemmaroids at the moment. I did have a colonic once, it was quite the strangest thing. The woman said I didn't really need it though as my gut was like a new pin. My friend that I went with, on the other hand, was backed up to the junction with shit and almost passed out when it was being pumped out. Her jeans were hanging off her afterwards. So you see ladies, my slatternly ways do not extend to my intestines...

peachLFDTsmuggler · 05/12/2011 22:45

Glad all serene chez Rhet!

K been cluster feeding for last 5 hours. We are now in bed and she is still going! Midwife coming tomorrow to weigh her. Really hope she is back up to her birthweight!!

rhetorician · 05/12/2011 22:47

A feeding now too - had to wake her up. Hope DP manages to get a little sleep - she should have gone to bed earlier on as baby asleep from 7 til about now...so that 3.5 hours sleep she missed.

peachLFDTsmuggler · 05/12/2011 22:53

Omg orange, am so excited to find out the contents of that bag! Can't believe there's no mealworm....

peachLFDTsmuggler · 05/12/2011 22:55

I just found those early days I had too much adrenaline to sleep Rhet. too busy bouncing off the walls with excitement!

monkeyLFDTwench · 05/12/2011 23:04

peach was it um productive?! LOL at jungle vines ....

Rhet hope you and DP are ok and enjoying being mums of two!

sfxmum · 05/12/2011 23:20

Orange best of luck

Rhet good to hear it is all snuggly and lovely

Will avoid getting to the bottom bit for now
Very sleepy

Btw (whispers) I got the number of the lovely singing teacher, at dd's music thing, it will be my goal as soon as I can afford it to get some singing lessons Grin

fannybanjo · 05/12/2011 23:23

sfx are these singing lessons for you...?!

I'm getting hardcore, I want running sunglasses. Does that make me a ponce with a Jilly Cooper bed AND aerodynamic sunglasses?

fannybanjo · 05/12/2011 23:28

Yes rhet glad to hear that all is lovely. Talking of having two Mums, the postmistresses in our local Post Office are in a relationship with a daughter and I smiled when I heard her today say "Mum, can I have...?" then to her other Mum the same question. Cracking couple. One of them was wondering why I was sending 7 parcels the same. I told her they were spiked handcuffs for all me mates. Grin. She believed me too! No idea why..

sfxmum · 05/12/2011 23:31

(whispers) yes Blush dd wants the flute next and possibly also drums

rhetorician · 06/12/2011 09:22

fanny yes, DD1 is quite adept at playing us off against one another. She just asked who was the baby's mummy...

not a great night, but somehow we are more chilled about it; DP so much more smitten with this one - it took a few days with DD1. Midwife coming sometime today so we can ask her various things that we should know but have completely forgotten loads of questions

stickyLFDTfingers · 06/12/2011 09:51

peach am so pleased to learn you have sparkly clean intestines Xmas Grin

all this talk of endoscopies and colonic irrigation and worse (am looking at you fanny) Xmas Shock. I think I will have a nice conversation with sfx about singing lessons instead (which sound very exciting - is this a new thing or have you always sung?).

running no, I'm born and bred Devon (oo arr oo arr). Lived twixt Exmoor and the sea, it was idyllic (but not so great for jobs, so left at 18 and don't know will I ever get back. Sad really).

rhet am very Xmas Envy of all those newborn cuddles. Sounds like you're all taking the new arrival in your stride! I bet the scooter will be greeted with more excitement.

Not planning to run today, though it is lovely and sunny so am a bit Xmas Confused. Got to get the Canadian post out though, so really must knuckle down
