MoshiMoshi · 29/11/2011 09:04

All ye fine runners who wish to get together to discuss running-related topics, or otherwise, come and join us here. We are a friendly and incredibly supportive group of runners, varying in ability, but all bonded together by a common theme of loving running, committed to squeezing it into our busy lives and wanting to improve our own PBs. So whether you are a full-time mum, part-time working mum, full-time working mum, working from home mum, mum who is studying, or even a dad Grin, add your race to the list so you can be sure of some moral support and advice along the way. And if you aren't racing, don't worry as you can enjoy the race reports and race vicariously.

I've found them...how much were they again..I think I would like them if that is alright?

futurity · 05/12/2011 17:16

oops..too late...sorry...was sorting out fighting DS's! Don't worry about it..I'll leave it.

fannybanjo · 05/12/2011 17:20

futurity sorry. Blush. Please let me know if you really want them, when I'm next there, I'll pick some up.

rhetorician · 05/12/2011 17:27

the thing I like about the Parker book is the testimonies - it's just a form of training that allows you to train harder in fact - so the aerobic running is like tuning your engine, or adding petrol, or whatever..more later

fannybanjo · 05/12/2011 17:42

My intentions are to keep to aerobic heart rate on LSR and easy, obviously top whack on intervals and hills. That right Rhet?

N4NNY · 05/12/2011 17:58

Go on I'll let futurity have them I don't mind I still have them on my Christmas wish list so Santa may bring some.

futurity · 05/12/2011 18:03

no..you have them N4NNY ...its not a problem! That's my last word on it Xmas Smile

In running news...I may actually...wait for it..GO FOR A RUN tomorrow! I am over my weird week long bug and feel raring to go (apart from a weird neck pain which has come on from no where...think I slept weirdly). Haven't been out for just over a week..wonder if I will remember what to do!

N4NNY · 05/12/2011 18:17

futurity thanks I won't argue with you x

DrNortherner · 05/12/2011 19:13

Sorry for absence lately, I am thinking of you all, esp Rhet and the imminent arrival of dd2.

Just manically busy here. Will be back soon I promise, Am still running though Grin

rhetorician · 05/12/2011 19:46

dr no; she's here!

WishIwasCherryMenlove · 05/12/2011 19:58

Quick pop in to say congrats rhet. Lovely name. How did dd1 like her? I think the thing that worries me most about another baby is the effect on ds!

Fanny sorry to hear your Dubai trip isn't going to work out.

Monkey when you mention a lovely independent coffee shop with a morrocan coffee maker - is it the merchant tea and coffee co, or have I missed out on a delicious other coffee establishment elsewhere? The mtc co is a small chain I think though?

My coffee tip to you all is McDonalds. Surprisingly nice!

DrNortherner · 05/12/2011 20:37

What?! She's arrived? And I missed it. OMG, feel terrible.

How is she? How is dp? How are you all? Must read through thread. Love to you all xxx

sfxmum · 05/12/2011 20:55

quick drop by fanny paypal on way (I think) first time I used this thing, not sure if my name shows or just email in which case starts mrsF

fannybanjo · 05/12/2011 21:05
Wink

sfx and wheely thanks, I've received funds.

fannybanjo · 05/12/2011 21:13

Just did 2 mile warm up at 10.0m/m then 6 x 0.25 mile intervals at between 6.25m/m and 6.50m/m with recovery of walking back to start. Heart rate average 176bpm. Hard. Then jogged back home do another 2 miles easy at 10.30m/m and heart rate average was 158. rhet these stats are for you. On warm up it was 139. Now I feel very very tired tonight as was up for 4 hours in night with DD2. Does that effect heart rate?

rhetorician · 05/12/2011 21:13

dr no we are all fine - dd2 is doing well, dd1 is being very nice to her little sister, although getting her to bed wasn't that easy (but I suppose it's not every day that your mother disappears and comes back 24 hours later with a small baby!). DD1 will get her orange scooter from the baby tomorrow (not much point giving it to her today because it was dark when she got home)

DP is actually in great shape - moving about fairly well, no painkillers since this morning, although she has had almost no sleep...

I really think I might get out for a short run on Wednesday - yay!

orangeLFDThead · 05/12/2011 21:26

monkey yes appt tomorrow. Thankyou everyone for good luck wishes Smile.
Don't peach you will get that song back in my head.
Glad you all home rhet
My fanny pack arrived today, can't remember who recommended it but it fab. Thanks.
Monkey I hate those big bowls mugs that your coffe goes cold quicker too.
Ah thats nice about the flowers fanny, any particular occasion. Don't forget to pm your details.
Made a delicious chickpea and spinach curry tonight, it was really nice. Dh moaned all the way through me cooking it, he hates stuff like that and he is the most fussiest eater. But he loved it and polished off his plate Grin. The boys said it was ok, but ate most of it.
I seemed to have had an allergic reaction to my moisturer that I have used for years. Gone blotchy all over my body. Very strange.

Wheelybug · 05/12/2011 21:30

Glad all going well rhet

Good luck tomorrow orange

fannybanjo · 05/12/2011 21:35

orange what fanny pack is it? can't remember if it was me who recommended... Flowers were because I am the best wife ever... he wants anal Wink Grin Good luck for appointment tomorrow. How is the knee? You nervous about race?

rhet glad all is well with the fambo. How on earth will you manage to wait until Wednesday to go for a run?! Shock

orangeLFDThead · 05/12/2011 21:44

Bet your not joking really fanny Grin. Its precision running, it was only about £6. Knee feels ok but not sure it will be ok for 10 miles, just have to try and and see. But yes very nervous and hoping it not icy on Sunday.
Just sneaked upstairs to nick a hot water bottle from one of the boys and they still awaken , damn.

monkeyLFDTwench · 05/12/2011 21:47

cherry is the Beech Tree cafe opposite Morrisons - used to be the public toilets! - though DH told me earlier that our Moroccan friend is no longer there and now works in the barbers just by Londis, which is a great shame.

On my own tonight, DH at the first of many Christmas parties. Bit of a shit evening, ds2 is now suffering really badly with his tummy as he needs to be on a normal diet until his endoscopy. Finding it very hard to keep feeding him food that's making him ill Sad.

fannybanjo · 05/12/2011 21:47

I can assure you, nowt goes through my back doors that ugly.. Grin You'll be fine I'm sure and hey, turn your trainers into racing spikes with the Fanny Trax.

monkeyLFDTwench · 05/12/2011 21:48

Oh and fanny do what you will but give those White trousers a miss tomorrow, yeah? Wink

fannybanjo · 05/12/2011 21:49

monkey oh I'm sorry, your poor DS. Sad hope things better for him once he's had the endoscopy.

fannybanjo · 05/12/2011 21:51

I only go that far if mega dosh laid on the table monkey and DH ain't got loadsamoney no more so tough shit, he'll have to go elsewhere. Wink Grin
