I need a Shred buddy

I had a Shred buddy but she knackered her knees. It turns out I have no self-motivation at all as I haven't done it once since she stopped.

Anyone looking at a neglected copy of the 30 Day Shred and want to buddy up? We had managed to get to day 10 and had just moved up to level 2 when we stopped, but I'm happy to start again at day 1.

Not much required, just a daily check in to say, 'yep, done it for today, how about you?'

Whaddya say?

Oh and possibly assumptious to assume you are the bessie mate?

Kbear · 22/04/2011 14:00

Do you want me to go and get the key to the box of secrets and bad things that is "never to be opened"??? Do ya? Course I'M your bessie mate. I know things.... ok ok, so do you.... so it shall always be so.!!! LOL

Kbear · 22/04/2011 14:00

and make mine a margarita...

Brahbrah · 22/04/2011 14:16

Hello all, I've had cold after sodding cold and been feeling very sorry for myself, so shred hasn't had much of a look in recently. I will be getting back on with it when I can jump around without collapsing in an unattractive wheezing heap.

This is turning into a bad Sport and Exercise thread!

What happened to the positive thinking and attitude of 20th March? (when the thread started) What happened to thinking about your goals? What happened to wanting to supporting each other, when times are tough?

(I feel like Smithy, here! Grin)

What happened to, from 20 mins shredding a day, great bodies will come?

This is NOT the thread I joined. This is NOT the thread of people who can't, but the thread of those thast CAN. This is about self control, self respect and group therapy!

It's time to stand up and be counted! It's time to say, 'I will not let my excuses get in the way of a little exercise. I will not be defeated. I WILL wear my clothes with pride and I will be able to wear my wedding dress, done right up to the top on 3rd August this year' (OK - so that one's personal!Grin)

You have until Tuesday ladies. Then the holidays are over and the excuses stop!

It's 20 mins a day. 20 mins less on MN? 20 mins less tidying up? 20 mins less in the bath? Only you can determin whether you life is worth 20 minutes a day. Only you can decide if your body and self esteem is worth 20 mins a day, only you can do this!

Here endth the lesson! Grin

See you on Tuesday, I'm havin' a drink and a fag! Grin

PatTheHammer · 22/04/2011 20:45

Hi ladies!

Done a 15 minute run earlier and plan to Shred at about 9.15 when DH buggers off to watch snooker. Have not shredded since sunday but I have done a class on monday and did a run on tuesday night so not all bad news!

Great motivational skills MaureenGrin

Oh, it's a drunk thing I do on a scarily regular basis! Grin We usually have a social gathering for our wedding anniversary. Although, that's generally an excuse, it just happens to be during the summer holidays and we don't really need an excuse for a drink! Grin

I get drunk - I put my wedding dress on! This year, it doesn't fit! I'm gutted! We'll have been married 20 years and it doesn't fit!

I'll join you all on Tuesday (if Moderation Monday round Maureen's isn't too messy, which it will be, cos it always is...). Who could ignore the rousing speech by Maureen (which you would find absolutely hilarious if you knew her like I know her.... exercise and Maureen not usually used in the same sentence lol).

Anyway, LET'S DO IT

Do I need to get a note from my doctor about my back ishoos to get out of re-starting on Tuesday? Grin

I only got married 5 years ago this year and I definitely couldn't fit in mine. Mind you, I'm the only person I know who put weight ON in the run up to her wedding Hmm

Doing well supersal!
I shredded on friday and saturday, then did gym classes on sunday and today ('work and sweat'- what a bitch that was! Bet Jillian would have loved itGrin)

Will shred tomorrow, I have gone back to level one as I am finding level two a complete bastard to the knees, think I'll alternate between the two for a bit and then try level 3 if my knees don't feel better.

Wedding dress...........hmmmmmm, now mine hasn't been out of the bag for 6 years, far to scared as I was a perfect size 10 when I got marriedBlush

Well done Pat and supersal. I haven't shredded yet today, but I'm gonna, just you watch me (or not, that would be weird). I might drop back to level 1 occasionally too, I find I do something strange to my elbow every time I do level 2, on the walk out press-ups. I watched level 3 to see if I could maybe move up, but got a bit scared so I'm demoting myself instead.

Wedding dress-wise, I'm pleased to report I can fit in to the dress I got married in and in fact will be wearing it to a ball in a couple of months (not a proper white wedding dress, just a very lovely dress). It definitely wouldn't have fitted pre-shred. I only got married 3 years ago but have had two babies in that time, so pretty happy to be wearing it again :)

OK, I need to start this. I have had it for about 6 weeks but haven't taken it out the packaging Blush. I allow stupid things to stop me. I don't have weights (do you need them? Would water bottles do?)

However this is the biggest one. I don't know when to exercise. I mean fitting it in around food (don't want to feel too full, but don't want to be so hungry I'll faint) and showering (no point being all freshly showered and made up then shredding, is there?) How do you all manage?

I feel really daft now. Is there anyone right at the beginning who wants to hold my hand? And find my dvd?

PureNewWoolWithPerfectStitches · 26/04/2011 14:13

Hello fellow Shredders (identifiable by the inability to walk downstairs)...
I've done day one.
I may never recover.
Seriously, does anyone have any advice on how to do the sit ups without pulling your neck. I've never been able to do those little b'stards properly.
I couldn't do the last bicycling sit up thingys right at the end of Level 1, they were impossible!!! I am sooooo WEAK!

PureNewWoolWithPerfectStitches · 26/04/2011 14:17

Poet - I'm finding the same thing about the timing, 'tis tricky. I'll be interested to see what others say.
Have you looked under the coffee table for your DVD, that's quite often where ours are Smile
Oh and I don't have any weights, I'm using tins of tomatoes (tescos own, not my nice Napolina ones of course Wink)
