I need a Shred buddy

I had a Shred buddy but she knackered her knees. It turns out I have no self-motivation at all as I haven't done it once since she stopped.

Anyone looking at a neglected copy of the 30 Day Shred and want to buddy up? We had managed to get to day 10 and had just moved up to level 2 when we stopped, but I'm happy to start again at day 1.

Not much required, just a daily check in to say, 'yep, done it for today, how about you?'

Whaddya say?

Yoohoo! Grin Someone else we know, will be joining very shortly! Wink

Brahbrah · 06/04/2011 19:20

Right, I have an evening by myself, so really have very little excuse. I'll just get my dinner (and let it digest...) and I'll be on it!

supersal - does C25K mean you're running about 25 kilometres after only 4 weeks training??

I've got an evening to myself too. Dinner done for all and both family members out until 10'ish.

Trouble is, truely shit day and work and I've just poured a glass of extremely strong red wine! Grin Will not let the side down though. I can't yet see any results, but even my tummy is hurting now, so I am encouraged and positive!

KeepCalmAndCarryOnMNing · 06/04/2011 19:56

Gah, I haven't done it today. Didn't manage to get up at ridiculous o'clock. And I have an excuse ready before you tell me I've still got time - I have exams in a few weeks, and I need to revise in the evenings after work and after DS in bed so really can't take any time out from that tonight. However, I have made DH promise to kick me out of bed in the morning so I can crack on. Will missing a day make Day 3 harder?

Welcome, supersal. Brahbrah - good luck with it tonight!

Brahbrah · 06/04/2011 19:57

Me too! I've done race for life a few times but never managed to run the whole thing, so the idea of 25K seems madness. Though I guess it's only about half a marathon. How are you finding it?

Oh, that was to supersal. Right, I'll be getting on with it shortly. See you all on the other side.

Missing a day is ok I think. It's like dieting, as long as you get back on it, and don't decide that you've failed and give up on the whole thing, then it still works out in the long run.

I have a fairly thick rug on a wooden floor and it's fine. I used tins of tomatoes for a while, but if you stick with it I'd recommend getting weights. Workout 1 doesn't need much space but there's a bit of flinging yourself around on workout 2, I can just about stay on my rug.

Sal, you should be fine on rug on wooden floor, that's how I do it!

Feeling guilty cos I haven't done tonight, been really busy since getting home from work and had a late tea. Usually do after dd has gone to bed, cos I work 7am to 4pm.

Ah well, back on it tomorrow.

Finally managed it last night, albeit with a 20 minute break in the middle when dd2 woke up. Just as well she did as I think the window cleaner knocked while I was up there and I'd have had to open the door all redfaced and sweaty.

C25K looks great, I'm a bit housebound in the evenings at the moment (see above re dd2) but maybe when she's settled down I might give it a go.

Oops, not doing a very good job of keeping this thread going. I've shredded this morning, level 2 is not getting any easier, tho that's probably because I've been rubbish at getting round to it. I'm considering giving DH the authority to make me do it in the evening. Drastic step, I know.

I've had a rest on Friday and Saturday. Although, if I'm honest, Friday was due to too much wine, too soon and Saturday was out, since I'd been gardening all day and asleep by 7pm!

Right now, tonight is debatable! Just come in from the garden again and my back is killing me!

Fear not though, I am determined to loose the flab! Grin

Keep going girls! Summer is clearly, well and truely on it's way!

KeepCalmAndCarryOnMNing · 10/04/2011 15:45

I've well and truly fallen off the shredding routine now. I can also blame a wee tipple or two this weekend! Plan to start with renewed vigour tomorrow. The first of the many summer parties I wanted to get in a bit better shape for is next Saturday, so I think I need a miracle, never mind a week's shredding!!!

MaureenMLove · 10/04/2011 18:11

Umm, Houston, we have a problem!

I appear to have broken my toe! Well, I don't know for sure. Not sure whether to bother with the hospital really. They won't do much.

I was helping DH put a new top on the garden table and the wrought iron side fell down and landed on my flip flopped feet! Swelling and much pain at the moment, so I'll have to give it a miss today, I think.

Brahbrah · 10/04/2011 18:59

Well, you can have a free pass for today, but I want to see you shredding tomorrow, broken toe or no Wink

Seriously though, that sounds painful. I hope you're not too damaged and it's just a lot of bruising.

its not fair!!!! Have ordered DVD and am waiting for it to arrive so I can get started and am beginning to quite nervous reading all your posts! DH is away this week so it would be ideal for me to get started without an audience..

KeepCalmAndCarryOnMNing · 11/04/2011 19:34

Boo, woke up feeling ill this morning so will need to delay my re-start.

TrinityIsABunnyMunchingRhino · 11/04/2011 19:35

I have the dvd, I was so motivated but the first time I did it I nearly threw up and that was just the first 6 minutes Blush

then that evening I was floored by some awful head cold thing and I've never done it again
