Great minds Marsha Grin

sashagabadon · 24/12/2020 16:00

Why would it be hot air Hannibal. Sounds perfectly doable and possible to me

HannibalHayes · 24/12/2020 16:01

I wouldn't trust this government to paint a road sign...

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 24/12/2020 16:02

@tinselearedcow

I am a remainer, but glad there is a deal. No deal plus the pandemic would have been awful.

Will it be known as the Christmas Eve Deal from now on?

Agree

And i bloody hope not 😀

(Hopefully its a good deal... haven’t seen yet)

Hmm
HannibalHayes · 24/12/2020 16:02

But, hey! You True BeLeavers keep celebrating. You've sold a mansion and bought a caravan.

MarshaBradyo · 24/12/2020 16:03

Nope voted remain.

Still I can see people will go on and on no matter what

Merry Christmas instead

CherryRoulade · 24/12/2020 16:04

Hah the only deal worth anything would have been to remain in the EU. It’s a deal to live by worse arrangements than we had already.

Confused Remainer here and I hope we will rejoin.

Surely no remainers wanted no-deal?

HeyHeyImABeLeaver · 24/12/2020 16:06

It is absolutely right that the Opposition votes in the best interests of the country rather than trying to score political points. Anyone who doesn't agree is probably so financially secure as to not being scared shitless of no deal and its effect on the poorest people in this nation.

That'll be Lord Adonis then!😉
Not quite sure what SNP will do and not forgetting Macron has a veto. I suspect ERG won't be the problem here.

CaptainMyCaptain · 24/12/2020 16:07

I'm a remainer but agree a deal is better than no deal. I always kind of suspected there was a bit of play acting going on so Boris could pull it out of the bag at the last minute. I won't be celebrating.

I voted remain but I am really pleased we have a deal and I think the negotiators have done a good job and Boris did what he said he would do ( whether you voted for him or not)
Summerstorms · 24/12/2020 16:08

WTF would anyone think remainers wanted a no deal?

Bathroom12345 · 24/12/2020 16:11

I am a Leaver. Junker actually did it for. Honestly though there are some moaners on here. There is no way anyone on this thread has seen the 2000 pages and worked out what it all means.

The fish issue wasn’t worth trashing the deal for and for all those who are saying it shouldn’t have been left until the last moment have clearly not done any large negotiations.

Come on - whether you voted leave or remain this is better than No Deal.

MajesticWhine · 24/12/2020 16:13

This is good news surely. I am very relieved.

MarinPrime · 24/12/2020 16:13

Some remainers on mumsnet will be disappointed. They were convinced Johnson was going for no deal and gleeful about the prospect of brexiteers suffering the consequences.

GinAndTonicOnIt · 24/12/2020 16:14

I'm a hardcore anti Tory, anti tori, anti Boris, BUT I'm celebrating and giving credit where it's due..... THANK FUCK FOR THAT 😁

Xiaoxiong · 24/12/2020 16:14

Hardcore remainer here, so relieved we have a deal. So, so, SO relieved,

BBCONEANDTWO · 24/12/2020 16:14

Thank goodness so holiday next year - for SURE!

GinAndTonicOnIt · 24/12/2020 16:14

Oops should say anti Tory, anti Brexit, anti Boris

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 24/12/2020 16:17

@Summerstorms

WTF would anyone think remainers wanted a no deal?
Ive heard it said a few times by people who say they voted leave

Made no sense to me either

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 24/12/2020 16:17

Actually thats unfair of me

Apparently it was some times said by people who SAID they voted remain

Again...makes no sense to me

Kazzyhoward · 24/12/2020 16:18

Who fucking cares about the bloody fish? It was daft to hang so much on so little of our GDP (0.12%).

It was a hell of a lot more before the EU! I'm sure all the decimated fishing communities care that they may now start to rebuild/recover their fishing industry.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 24/12/2020 16:19

What great news, just what we all needed at this very challenging time.

Of course we don't know the details but free trade and control of fishing were the sticking points which they have successfully negotiated.

Frost and Johnson have done so well. I wonder if the msm will give them any praise and acknowledgement for holding their nerve.

Let's hope that is the end of the doom and gloom 'the end is nigh' flappy threads.
