Brexit

Do any of the people who laughed and rolled their eyes at those of us stockpiling six months ago care to comment?

I seem to remember some rather scathing comments. I wonder how many are quietly buying a few extra bits each week and smugly congratulating themselves on being prepared. Forgetting the scorn and contempt.

Not sure what it's like in other areas, but there's a massive shortage of Paracetamol here!

Manontry · 06/09/2019 23:50

Paracetamol in Lidl and Boots today, no obvious shortage.

Hushabyelullaby · 07/09/2019 00:05

None here in Lidl, ALDI, B&M, very reduced amounts in Supermarkets & Boots.

We haven't left yet.

Shortages will happen when we leave - if we leave with no deal.

This intrigues me - people seeming to think because nothing bad's happened yet, it won't. People don't seem to realise what leaving with no deal will mean.

Why on earth do you think so many Tories have put their actual careers on the line here? MPs are sacrificing their careers to STOP no deal. Because no deal is when the shit will hit the fan - and it will be too late to do anything then.

Manontry - that might be the case if the UK had left with a good deal, but I don't think the political chaos within the UK, the EU showing itself capable of a united front and leaving with no deal is setting a good precedent for leaving. The UK posed a massive threat to EU stability by voting to leave, but the result has been instability in the UK, not the EU. And if the EU falls, the entire continent of Europe, including the UK, will suffer massively - why would the UK want to be blamed for that, anyway? I doubt many of them would thank us for putting them out of their misery and giving them more misery.
