Just watching parliament and it's like some sort of circus. They're making a show of themselves.

@Whiskers - I was talking about the thugs who will riot and many of them went to today’s protest. They are not angry with the EU, they are just generally angry and will stay angry whatever happens.

Fresta · 29/03/2019 19:04

I don't see leavers being quiet where I am- they're the ones ranting on facebook about democracy and how the gov are letting down the 17 million who voted, demanding we leave without a deal etc.

Bornfreebutinchains · 29/03/2019 19:04

Bearded I think that too. Unfortunately some people latch on to anything and just want trouble sadly.
Same with far left.

WhiskersOnCats · 29/03/2019 19:08

Yes @Fresta - from what I've seen, there is a massive leave consensus outside of MN. It's not allowed really on MN.

bornfree - the reasons for leaving have never been an issue. There are many good reasons to leave just as there are many good reasons to stay. The theoretical side of leaving has never been for me the issue.

The problem is (and I suspect is why many wanted to remain and get angry now) is HOW we leave. And thats the issue. The practical side of leaving is next to impossible to do without a mandate as to how the majority of leavers want. Which was the fault of referendum in part. But also a practical one. Different reasons for leaving mean different models for leaving. You solve one reason for leaving it causes another.

I agree that on this forum the leave consensus is underestimated. What is also underestimated is the number leavers that just want to leave regardless of the consequences.

Bluelonerose · 29/03/2019 19:38

So mps have said no to
No deal, wa, revoke, soft brexit, hard brexit which leaves us... here

Its all the bloody uncertainty, everyone changing their minds on a daily basis.

I've had enough of it all now. I get leavers in one ear remainers in the other and I can't deal with any more brexit shit

TheWaiting · 29/03/2019 19:48

^ This with bells on! On QT last night, they were discussing how social media has made these slightly unhinged, angry people convinced that everyone shares their extreme views. When actually, it only appears that way to them because all 800 people on their niche closed FB group agree with them. Hmm

WhiskersOnCats · 29/03/2019 19:50

It's funny how the Leave protesters are thugs, but the Remain protesters are saints.

OP posts:
Bluntness100 · 29/03/2019 19:59

that is precisely why an extension will not be granted

I categorically assure you it will be. Let's chat again in a couple of weeks and see who is right op.

TheWaiting · 29/03/2019 20:01

It's funny how the Leave protesters are thugs, but the Remain protesters are saints.

NO. To misquote Mr Self, not all leave voters are thugs, but all thugs are leave voters!

Peregrina · 29/03/2019 20:14

They will revoke over no deal for sure - because they know no deal will put peoples lives and livelihoods at risk

I am not at all convinced that would stop them - the Tory party's policies have done damage to many. Businesses leaving might concentrate their minds a little better, and with Boris's F*ck business, they might realise that their reputation for being the party which represents business has been trashed.

Peregrina · 29/03/2019 20:16

It's funny how the Leave protesters are thugs, but the Remain protesters are saints.

How many Police were at today's demonstrations? Compare that number with how few we had policing our million plus demonstration.

WhiskersOnCats · 29/03/2019 20:25

And how many arrests were made?

OP posts:
TeacupDrama · 29/03/2019 20:25

The Story of Brexit,
Once upon a time a long long time ago well two years ago a question was asked
" shall we stay or shall we go" then the answer came as clear as mud perhaps Go well maybe perhaps sort of stay or perhaps Go
now options and answers
so after two maybe three years of anger, talking, subterfuge, back stabbing and double dealing, disingenuity but for most just boredom. A deal was done or maybe it wasn't but anyhow the answer is no to the deal they tried twice and then a third
so what they planned was a whole series of options
1 shall we definitely GO oh no no no

  1. shall we maybe go oh no no no
  2. shall we maybe think about going oh no no no
4 shall we think about going next year oh no no no
  1. shall we think about staying next year oh no no no
6 shall we think about staying oh no no no 7 shall we maybe stay oh no no no 8 shall we definitely stay oh no no no 9 shall we ask the questions again oh no no no no no no

they all put their heads in their hands and screamed

THE END

NoWordForFluffy · 29/03/2019 20:29

And how many arrests were made?

I didn't read about any last weekend. Today's protests are still going on.

WhiskersOnCats · 29/03/2019 20:32

How can you negotiate with idiots who don't know what they want. I've had similar negotiations with my two year old.

Do you want a banana? No!!!
Ok, fine.
Screams - I want a banana!!!!!
Ok - here's the banana.
Screams - No - I don't like that banana.
Ok - but that's the last banana
Throws self on floor in despair
One walks away......

I want a banana and you won't give me a banana!
Yes, here's the banana
SCREAMS

Would you like me to peel the banana? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Ok
Well perhaps you should go into time out until you figure out whether you want a banana or not - I'm done here.
SCREAMMMMMMSSSSSSSSSSSSS

I make myself a coffee.

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 29/03/2019 20:34

Blunt are you still confident no deal isn't going to happen? I really hope not.

StealthPolarBear · 29/03/2019 20:35

Really hope there's not a no deal I mean

The80sweregreat · 29/03/2019 20:36

Whiskers, I hope it wasn't a bendy banana!
( sorry)
I hope it doesn't kick off tonight. The police are stretched as it is.

WhiskersOnCats · 29/03/2019 20:38

It's exactly the same with the UK.

We want to leave

Ok fine. Here's the deal

NOOOOOOOOO

Well what do you want?

We don't know.

Ok, well think about it for 2 years and come back when you know.

OK, WE'RE BACK.

Have you decided what you want?

No.

Ok, then you'll have to leave.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

And on and fucking on and fucking on the UK toddler goes...... Thinking that Mummy EU will pander to them.

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 29/03/2019 20:38

I think Bluntness is far more optimistic about no deal than the reality, taking into account it's the default.

WhiskersOnCats · 29/03/2019 20:44

The UK is very much a toddler throwing a tantrum. They don't know what they want! How is the EU supposed to give them what they want, when they don't know themselves.

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 29/03/2019 20:47

They want all the benefits of staying in the EU with none of the awful 'downsides'. And not to pay

StealthPolarBear · 29/03/2019 20:51

How is may still in power
