Just watching parliament and it's like some sort of circus. They're making a show of themselves.

WhiskersOnCats · 29/03/2019 14:48

Donald Tusk's reaction is to hold an emergency meeting April 10th.

WhiskersOnCats · 29/03/2019 14:49

So it looks like we'll be going for a long extension - 2 years. Hmm, and Brexit rumbles on!

OP posts:
ilovesooty · 29/03/2019 14:49

Heidi Allen is right.

WhiskersOnCats · 29/03/2019 14:50

missyB1 · 29/03/2019 14:52

Time for Theresa to go and article 50 needs revoking.

BrexitBingoGenerator · 29/03/2019 14:53

This is so shit. Like a really shit Groundhog Day. Your deal is never going to pass, Theresa! So do we now vote in the EU elections?

How are the crowds outside parliament taking it?

Pengrin · 29/03/2019 14:53

I can’t follow it. I need a dumbed down version.

RussellSprout · 29/03/2019 14:53

Yay Brexit's cancelled!! ( I wishfully think)

WhiskersOnCats · 29/03/2019 14:56

No - the EU are saying a NO DEAL Brexit is happening on the 12th.
The UK are confident that the EU will give us an extension of 2 years.

EU fully prepared for a no-deal Brexit.

OP posts:
WhiskersOnCats · 29/03/2019 14:57

It's like the UK is not listening at all to the EU.

Pengrin · 29/03/2019 14:59

It’s all so insane. It’s being described by the government as a ‘crisis’, and it is a crisis. One that they chose to put us in.

The amount of money and time spent on this is unbelievable and we’re no nearer the finish line.

How many other countries would choose to put themselves in a crisis Confused

MockerstheFeManist · 29/03/2019 15:00

Thursday 2nd May, local elections, and maybe more?

WhiskersOnCats · 29/03/2019 15:00

The EU has played ball for a long time. I think they're at the point of 'piss or get off the pot'. A50 has been activated and will run out on April 12th. The UK is confident that the EU will grant an extension. The tweets from the EU are suggesting, this is the end of the road - you've been to the last chance saloon.

585 pages in the WA. Is there a copy of that freely available online?
What is it that they are not liking in it?

OP posts:
The80sweregreat · 29/03/2019 15:06

Whiskers, I'm sure it's online somewhere?

Fresta · 29/03/2019 15:07

They need to face facts: Brexit is dead- it was a silly idea to start with but we've tried to negotiate a good exit deal and failed so it's best to remain.

Why can the politicians be allowed to constantly change their minds? We have Boris who was originally a remainer, now a leading brexiteer, two minutes ago he thought the WA was dead and now he's voted for it etc. Yet the government won't extend the same courtesy to the British public- it's 'you voted for Brexit and that's what you'll get regardless of what you think now'- the only solution in my view is to put it back to a public vote. The only people afraid of another referendum are the hardline leavers! They know that many will have seen sense since then.

WordsAndWorlds · 29/03/2019 15:07

@Whiskers I believe, other than the backstop, it's not the WA per se but that they feel the WA will just be a gateway to manipulate into something harder. So they prefer to vote against to keep the chance it could not happen at all than vote for it and have it twisted into a hard brexit that we are then stuck with
