Good news yesterday < gets out green highlighter >
Still work to be done but it’s another step in the right direction.

Wine

Ps: completely given up on the Brexit Arms as it’s been taken over by remainers.
This is our chilled out place to post on in the run up to March 2019.

Positive people only Smile

That's simply not good enough

did anyone actually berate you for your 'lack of patriotism'?
They most certainly did.

I personally have no interest in trans threads, so don't go on them. But people pile in on home birth threads, boarding school threads, any thread where strong opinions are held.

DGRossetti · 26/03/2018 09:57

What leavers don't seem to realise is that they need to work around the long standing agreements of other countries

While (cough, Spain - Gibraltar, cough) other countries adhere continue to the exact letter of their treaties with the UK.

gussyfinknottle · 26/03/2018 10:56

Brandy, nobody gave me a book on how to campaign for Leave. Nobody asked me to join a pack or a group or anything. I have an opinion. I express it. I voted Remain because that's what I concluded was the best for this country.
Now you are likening me to Lily Madigan and Cambridge Analytica and god knows what else because we have differing views.
Is this what you wanted our country to be? I didn't. We debate. We disagree.

gussyfinknottle · 26/03/2018 11:02

Or a book on how to campaign for Remain.

BrandySchnapps · 26/03/2018 11:08

Gussy, I already acknowledged that you had a point re my likening the tactics to TRAs & recanted.

I amended it to similarities between the right-on supporters of TRAs instead, so not sure why you're doubling down on the Lily Madigan angle tbh.

The remain pack on MN, who frequent the leaver threads just to bait & bitch to/about leave supporters are very much like the TRA handmaidens though - demographically & tactically.

BrandySchnapps · 26/03/2018 11:10

And fwiw I did not at any point say you were like Cambridge Analytica, so I'm baffled by your claim that I have.

HonkyWonkWoman · 26/03/2018 11:13

Well that was a waste of time! All the usual moaning from the losers!
When will they ever get over it?

They'll probably go mumbling into their doltage, whittering on and on and on and snore.

LondonMum8 · 26/03/2018 11:16

@BrandySchnapps

It was detailed in one of the remain campaigners books - the deliberate coordination between all remain groups & pooling of info & resources.

Hate to break this to you but your statements can hardly be considered references. Got any book titles, links etc?

gussyfinknottle · 26/03/2018 11:18

Brandy, thank you for your response.
I keep an eye on this sort of thread a lot and I haven't seen any of the stuff you mentioned from Remain supporters before and after the vote.
I have seen some naivety from Leave supporters being called out repeatedly. If you want to describe that as ranting, that is really your decision. You'll find plenty who disagree.
I know personally a few Leave voters- am related to a few too. I don't think any of them are knuckle dragging racists but I do think they are misguided and have latched into some simplistic sound bites at the expense of critical thinking. They are all uni educated, fwiw.
And no, I don't and have never seen the EU as some sort of haven of loveliness that cannot be criticised.

LondonMum8 · 26/03/2018 11:20

@surferjet Thank you for creating this thread and your contributions. If anyone ever wondered if giving people like you any direct input into serious decision making is a terrible idea, they surely would have no doubts after reading this stuff.

LondonMum8 · 26/03/2018 11:25

@HonkyWonkWoman

Well that was a waste of time

Not at all. Getting Leavers to self-expose the vast stupidity of Brexit with such a great clarity has been totally worth it.

surferjet · 26/03/2018 11:28

You’re welcome LondonMum8

My job is also to protect people like me from people like you. Because given the chance you’d go back to the days of property owning men being the only ones allowed to vote.
I suggest you read up women’s liberation and educate yourself.

London, Just when I think people couldn't possibly have voted based on a whim or an ill-informed feeling, threads like this prove me wrong.
Thanks for taking my daughter's rights off her because you wanted something you already had but were too bored to take an interest in before.

Devilishpyjamas · 26/03/2018 11:37

The sad thing is surfer the people who are going to be he most affected by Brexit are the poorest and most vulnerable. The mega-rich will be just fine and dandy.

LondonMum8 · 26/03/2018 11:38

@surfer

My job is also to protect people like me

Ah, so this is your job. Perhaps a bit surprising given how shit a job you've been doing. Which organization are contributing on behalf of?
And while you are busy protecting, please can you somehow ensure you are protected from accessing my tax contributions 😂

given the chance you’d go back to the days of property owning men being the only ones allowed to vote.

Not at all, I'm not landed gentry, but I do think that the people involved in decision making should meet certain standards, so should have just stuck to representative democracy. Now, what do we do about this bloody mess though?

LondonMum8 · 26/03/2018 11:40

@gussyfinknottle

WTF are you talking about?

surferjet · 26/03/2018 11:41

Rubbish.
The establishment didn’t want to leave the EU because it will lose them money.

Normal people will do just fine.

OP posts:
Lanclain · 26/03/2018 11:43

How does the single market impact people now.
And if we are not in it what is the impact on normal people who make things that get sold in the single market?

Peregrina · 26/03/2018 11:47

Aren't Gove, Johnson and Rees-Mogg part of the Establishment? They are certainly not ordinary working men.

gussyfinknottle · 26/03/2018 11:48

London- I wasn't clear. Not thank YOU, thank Leave voters for taking my DD's rights off her.

LondonMum8 · 26/03/2018 11:52

I think @surferjet's last contribution reveals much of the actual motivation behind the Leave vote: the desire to give "the elite" a bloody nose!

Nevermind the "elite" generates most value in this country, the idea is that the elite can be hammered and this will have no impact on anybody else. For example, surely we can shut down half of our financial services printing money off the EU business and contributing over £70B a year in TAX and everything will be absolutely fine 😂

I totally rest my case.

BrandySchnapps · 26/03/2018 11:55
