Good news yesterday < gets out green highlighter >
Still work to be done but it’s another step in the right direction.

Wine

Ps: completely given up on the Brexit Arms as it’s been taken over by remainers.
This is our chilled out place to post on in the run up to March 2019.

I'm positive- you're getting BINO! Grin

OliviaD68 · 20/03/2018 10:15

What was the good news @surferjet ?

bearbehind · 20/03/2018 10:20

surfer, and most other Leavers think that as long as the ignore NI it will go away.

On that basis, yesterday's transition agreement is good.

That's also leaving aside the fact we've rolled over on everything we insisted we wouldn't.

Just need the u-turn on CU/SM now.

OliviaD68 · 20/03/2018 10:25

@bearbehind

Drones and blockchain-"technology "-will solve NI. No need to verify origin, regulatory compliance or taxes because a camera does it.

No need to stop all vehicles to check for customs fraud because drones take care of it. And people are honest.

So because we won't stop vehicles - because fraud in Ireland won't happen - then the CTA is maintained.

Get with the programme!

OliviaD68 · 20/03/2018 10:55

@surferjet

DUP just rejected Irish border language. So did TM. All other conditions have been agreed to by the UK without counteroffer.

what do you believe has been achieved?

LondonMum8 · 20/03/2018 14:24

I thought we already had this lagoon and it turned out to be basically a place for banished loons to stay and keep dreaming of sunlit uplands, baby seal and foreigner bashing or whatever.

surferjet · 20/03/2018 15:55

You’re a right charmer aren’t you.

OP posts:
LondonMum8 · 20/03/2018 17:04

In this context more of a whisperer, and def not right.

TomRavenscroft · 20/03/2018 17:25

I'm very much looking forward to the white heat of the Ireland solution.

I'm imagining it'll look a bit like Minority Report, or some other Philip K. Dick story.

LondonMum8 · 20/03/2018 17:33

@TomRavenscroft

Yep, prob won't be far off "Impostor".

Mistigri · 20/03/2018 17:43

Apparently the article relating to the rights of the British in Europe has completely disappeared.

Fortunately the EU parliament is showing some concern, because the UK govt couldn't give a fig about its own citizens.

surferjet · 20/03/2018 17:44

What part of ‘positive people only’ don’t you understand?

mrsreynolds · 20/03/2018 17:45

Not exactly inundated were you surfer?

🤔🤣

LondonMum8 · 20/03/2018 17:55

I'm absolutely positive Brexit is a quite terrible and reprehensible endeavour.

time4chocolate · 20/03/2018 18:21

Wine cheers Surfer - I’m here and still in my usual positive mannerSmile

OliviaD68 · 20/03/2018 18:27

Very positive that Brexshit won't happen.

And very positive it's a pile of crap and will make the UK much much poorer.

Cupofteaandtoilet · 20/03/2018 18:28

I'm positive that Brexit will leave the UK poorer & weaker.

But I expect I'll be OK, so that's good Wine

bearbehind · 20/03/2018 18:31

Seriously Leavers, what are you actually positive about?

We have committed to abiding by EU rules with no say for 2 more years, full FOM and can't commence any new trade agreements.

That means we would have 2 years where it becomes blindingly obvious the price of trade agreements will be very high; increased visas, chlorinated chicken, privatised NHS, but we can do sod all about it.

Having said that, as NI has not been resolved, and cannot be until we commit to remaining in the SM/CU, yesterday's agreement isn't really relevant.

Peregrina · 20/03/2018 19:38

The Leaver Richard North sums it up beautifully:

But, not only has she caved in and is dumping Northern Ireland by apparently accepting something unacceptable, fishing also gets the "sell out" treatment. Had this travesty been proposed the day after the referendum, it would have been rejected out of hand. But now, it is been lauded as a "success" by our Brexit minister.

surferjet · 21/03/2018 06:52

Hi time4chocolate
I was going to call this thread ‘countdown cafe’ but I’d just have visions of the game show Grin
The clock is ticking though - less than a year now till freedom 🌈🇬🇧🌈🇬🇧

What colour is the sky in your world surfer?

We are not going to be ‘free’ in a year.

We are actually going to be in a much worse position for the following 2 years under the transition agreement.

And that’s all assuming we get that far by reaching agreement on NI which would mean remaining in SM/CU.

Why does it disturb you so much that people are happy about leaving the EU ?

Why don’t you just ignore this thread ?
I’ll never understand your utter devotion to a trading bloc, but I accept that’s the way you are & let you get on with it.

It’s a pity you can’t accept differences.

It disturbs me you're happy we will be worse off

It disturbs me you're happy as a result of a brainwashing exercise

It disturbs me anyone can so emotionally support something but can't factually say why

It disturbs me that your desire to leave has been enhanced by Russian actions

It disturbs me that you most likely have no idea what you're leaving.

Inkanta · 21/03/2018 08:04

Surfer - nice new thread! Brew Smile

Looks likeLondonMum and Olivia will take residence here instead.
