Good news yesterday < gets out green highlighter >
Still work to be done but it’s another step in the right direction.

Wine

Ps: completely given up on the Brexit Arms as it’s been taken over by remainers.
This is our chilled out place to post on in the run up to March 2019.

"I accept that’s the way you are & let you get on with it."

Bwahahah, thank you kind sir/madam!

I let you get on with it with my fucking tax bill. For now.

Good morning Inkanta SmileBrew

No, they’ll give up. I’m just ignoring them mostly.

You are wrong about this little detail too @surferjet :)

surferjet · 21/03/2018 09:23

LondonMum8
If you keep coming on here with your threats & passive aggressive smiles. lurkers ( & we have loads ) will think you’re stalking me - because that’s what it looks like.
Do you want people to think you’re a stalker?

OP posts:
Inkanta · 21/03/2018 09:32

Well I'm a Lurker and I have wondered.

So we’re back to making ridiculous comments about stalkers as opposed to discussing anything more complicated.

Absolutely no attempt to explain what is so positive about the transitional agreement or lack of progress on NI.

TheyBuiltThePyramids · 21/03/2018 09:43

It remains a clusterfuck of epic proportions. If this has any effect on my current reciprocal pension arrangements I am hoping Surfer will let me come and live with her in HappyLand.

surferjet · 21/03/2018 09:55

Moving on.......

So Brexiteers,

March 29th 2019 is the date in the diary - keep it free. Grin
This threads sole purpose is to post as & when we feel like it, it’s not a ‘fill it up quick with a load of arguing bollocks’ - that’s so last year.
The U.K. is leaving the EU - the vast, vast, majority just want to get on with it & make a success of Brexit - & that includes the majority of remainers.
Here’s to success Wine

Blah blah blah.

"the vast, vast, majority just want to get on with it & make a success of Brexit"

That's massive bollocks right there. It's 50/50 for and against Brexshit.

Peregrina · 21/03/2018 10:52

The vast majority are sick and tired of the nonsense from politicians, and are more interested in what's happening with their local hospital, finding a local school place, getting decent housing, finding a decent job, depending on which age group they belong to. They were promised that Brexit would deliver this. So far one time Remainer May isn't making a good job of delivering, and Leavers like Gove and Johnson are making sure that they don't have to put up as Leader because they know they would make as big a hash of it. Meanwhile, Rees-Mogg was trying some silly stunt with fishing, although his only acquaintance with fish is what's served up on his dinner plate, cooked by someone else.

OliviaD68 · 21/03/2018 11:14

Unemployment, Shit. It's hitting us faster than I expected. Not good.

Talkstotrees · 21/03/2018 12:14

Anecdotal I know, but all of my friends and acquaintances who voted to remain would still very much like to remain if at all possible. All of the (admittedly very few) who voted leave could not give a monkey’s chuff. Yes, they still want to leave but they really don’t care when or how and they’d rather not discuss it at all.

So I very much doubt that the vast, vast majority want to get on with it. But, if we have to have this bollocking Brexit then, yes, of course I want to us make a success of it. However, I can’t see any kind of success on the horizon.

howabout · 21/03/2018 12:15

You're a tad out of date Olivia.

OliviaD68 · 21/03/2018 12:30

@howabout

Damn. You're right. Old news. Somehow I had not seen it. Too much other stuff going on!

Figmentofmyimagination · 21/03/2018 14:08

I wonder whether any of our pro-Brexit politicians were targeted on the fields of Eton/Cambridge etc and are actually batting for another power.

LondonMum8 · 21/03/2018 14:53

@Figmentofmyimagination An absolutely valid question. I'd be super-surprised if that wasn't the case. Recent events suggest our counterintelligence services are failing to keep up.

Hasenstein · 21/03/2018 15:29

Surferjet

"Here’s to success wine"

What in your view would constitute "success"? Perhaps you could give some idea of how we will be better off if we leave the EU.

JWIM · 21/03/2018 16:03

Hasenstein not sure there is much more of an answer to what constitutes success than we 'leave the EU'. And as for 'better off' not sure I have seen that result put forward by leavers recently. Maybe they are satisfied with no 'better off' element to evidence the success that is leaving the EU immediately on leaving, sometime after leaving, ever?

celesti · 21/03/2018 16:11

Why does it disturb you so much that people are happy about leaving the EU ?

The fact that anybody is happy about it just demonstrates exactly why the public shouldn't have had a vote on it in the first place.

I do wonder at what point leave voters will wake up to the reality of it all. When you lose your job perhaps? Would you concede then your utter stupidity?

Hasenstein · 21/03/2018 16:30

JWIM

I was just hoping for a bit of flesh on the bones of "success". I wouldn't want to open a good bottle of wine until I know exactly what I'm celebrating. "Here's to success" seems just a bit vacuous as a toast.

LondonMum8 · 21/03/2018 16:58

Well, Putin would certainly join @surferjet's toast. He's def always keen to see the West weakened and divided, plus both the EU and Britain are always first to lash out with sanctions any time he just wants to annex a territory or something minor like that.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 21/03/2018 17:03

No, they’ll give up. I’m just ignoring them mostly

They wont give up

You know they wont

surferjet · 21/03/2018 18:19

They’ll have to give up one day, unless they want to spend their entire lives making fools of themselves on the internet.
We’re leaving the EU. Calling me mental isn’t going to change that.

OP posts:
bearbehind · 21/03/2018 18:49

We're not actually leaving though surfer

You'll be given enough to pacify your flag waving tendancies but actually we will still be 'in' the EU.

Only without a say in the rules and with none of the exemptions we previously had.

The only people making fools of themselves round here are Leavers who still think that's not going to be the case.
