Boris outmaneovered. Et tu Gove & Corbyn? The Westministenders Hunger Games Continues

Following the Machiavellian Govian shambles? Utterly gobsmacked at the Labour clusterfuck?

Who will strike next?

Who will the shadowy hand of Osborne back?
Can Gove be launched back into space and back to the planet he came from?
Can May save the country from almost certain doom?
Will Leadsom patronise us all to death (whilst silently stabbing people in the back with a sweet smile)?
Can Johnson make a decision he can stick to, and can we persuade him to give up being a politician?
Will Steven Crabb get rid of that god awful beard?

Will Corbyn shoot himself in the other foot?
Will Angela Eagle get a spine and just stand?
Who the fuck is Owen Smith?
Will the Blairites be foiled and damned?
Are momentum a bunch of thugs or a force for a better, for the people?

Will Farage disappear back under his rock?
Will people wake up to Arron Banks?
What will Dominic Cummings destroy next?

Have we seen a coup d'état?
How do we improve democracy and representation?

All these questions and more.
Sense of humour compulsory. No experience necessary though

Red - I'm just left wondering what search terms you've been using...

The 4% UKIP remainders are people who voted UKIP at the last election, not necessarily how they describe themselves now. So either they've changed their mind since then, or could just be lying.

Coldest · 04/07/2016 22:28

Why is may better?

RedToothBrush · 04/07/2016 22:28

Twitter.
The known source of all modern day evil.
It came up on my feed.

Not the worst thing today though.

I hate twitter.

Gracegrape, don't think it's quite like that though presented as if it is. I think of those who think feminism is a force for evil, 78% were leave voters. Roughly a third of leave voters overall thought this. Still not great!

RedToothBrush · 04/07/2016 22:32

Why is May better than Leadsom?

Because the chances of May going into negotiations with the EU and talking about being bankers, brussels and babies are zero. Leadsom however is a liability who believes that fairies live at the bottom of the garden.

Probably.

"Your [sic] also forgetting that the tory party is currently being investigated for electoral fraud in a number of constituencies throughout the country, which could wipe out the small majority they have in parliament. If this were the case it would cast doubt on the legitimacy of the referendum, since it would be unclear if they had a mandate to call the referendum in the first place"

I read this comment on one of the links up thread.

I have done a bit of googling, but I can't see whether it is a serious point or not. It's to do with the Tory battle bus being claimed as a national expense, rather than local, or something of that ilk.

Does anyone know anything about this, or is it just straw-clutching?

QueenLaBeefah · 04/07/2016 22:36

I've taken an instant dislike to Leadsom. Can't really explain but could never vote for her.

GraceGrape · 04/07/2016 22:37

Thanks Steve. Glad I misread it! Still not great though....

GraceGrape · 04/07/2016 22:37

Queen, I just read that Andrea has the endorsement of Katie Hopkins. Could give you a good reason for not liking her.

QueenLaBeefah · 04/07/2016 22:45

GraceCape - yet another time I've vigarously disagreed with Hopkins. Thank fuck for that!

colouringinagain · 04/07/2016 22:48

Thanks everyone for this thread. It's proving a lifeline at the moment!

RedToothBrush · 04/07/2016 23:06

I would have thought it was straw clutching as the democratic vote would take precedence over whether it was legitimate to call for it in the first place.

However getting rid of a few Tories, could spark a General Election, which WOULD be rather useful right now.

Just saw Juppé comments on Brexit and Le Touquet, he's probably (?) going to be France's president from next year.

He has a reputation for moderation, but he's not sounding as conciliatory as I expected, especially on Le Touquet - probably trying to cut the grass from under Le Pen's feet?

This is the problem with have far right parties, they bring everyone down to their level. Sigh.
