Sorry about your BFN kwick at least you've got some still left in the freezer - how much more weight do you have to loose? Hope you don't mind me asking.

TJLL · 03/12/2017 18:54

Good luck turtle and bear
So sorry kwick hope 2018 starts off better for you

kwick · 04/12/2017 07:39

@Mandy002 I got to BMI 35 - which was the max BMI the FC would allow, so anything I lose now is a "bonus". i have lost over 1.5 stone... to be super model like I need to lose about another 5 stone and grow a metre in height. To be a voluptous size 14 I probs need to lose another stone or so Grin

Just to say I got a bfp on friday, - I’ve been letting it sink in for a few days hence the silence - this is my first bfp after after a year of back to back treatment (after waiting for 2 years to start!) so in the last 12mths, 3 ivfs and 2 FETs so I’m obviously super cautious, but super excited.

Congratulations stork! That's amazing news. So happy for you.

LondonGirl80 · 04/12/2017 13:43

Oh congratulations Stork! I know this has been a long hard road for you - I'm so pleased x

TurtleTree · 04/12/2017 17:58

Stork many congrats, such great news!

Bear good luck for EC tomorrow. How have you been feeling after the trigger?

My clinic seems rather concerned about OHSS with me, I've got 34 follies growing Xmas Confused. Bit scared of what the trigger is going to do, but more disappointed as it might mean they won't put an embie back in this cycle. Drs will make a decision on Wed at my EC.

Mandy002 · 04/12/2017 18:14

Kwick that's a fantastic loss! Well done. I'm not sure what my BMI is now I've been dieting but mine is a similar situation I was at 34 and have almost lost a stone 11.5 pounds at the moment.. I have to be 15.5 st to just squeeze into the overweight part of the chart rather than obese...so that's my goal at the moment. I still have 17 pounds to go!!! 😩

Congratulations stork!! 🎉🌟🤗

pickle162 · 04/12/2017 18:33

Yayyyyy Stork so excited for you. 🤞for sticky bean

Bear I'm so unbelievably excited for you for tomorrow, can't wait to hear how many eggs have been harvested and get fertilised

Turtle that sucks about ohss! Hope it doesn't prevent you having egg transfer.... Xmas is lovely and all but does get in the way of fertility treatment

Kwick so proud of you for the Weight loss.

LondonGirl80 · 04/12/2017 18:50

Can I ask for some advice about FET?

So, after two failed IUIs, IVF 1 failed in November. But we have one embryo in the freezer for another try.

We had to take a month off after IVF as standard. But now the timetable seems to be against us.

AF will come on 14 Dec or so. We wanted to go then but our clinic is shut for two weeks for a deep clean, so looks like a no go.

On 1 Jan, we go abroad for two weeks. Jan AF due on about 10 Jan, so we miss Jan cycle.

Then in Feb, as we're going somewhere with a slight risk of Zika (who knew?!) we can't start til back for 28 days. Feb AF due on 8 Feb - three days short of 28 days. So clinic say they won't start treatment.

So I'm looking at March - 4 months after last cycle.

Am I being silly to try to find another clinic that isn't shutting for two weeks in December and go for Dec cycle? Do people think it will fit? Or is that just crackers & too stressful?

TinyPaws · 04/12/2017 19:37

kwik congrats on the weight loss! Sorry about the BFN, that sucks, but glad you're being so positive about it.

Stork congrats, that's super news! So exciting!

In other news I have got to the top of the waiting list for donor sperm, hooray! Today I booked my appointment with the donor coordinator to select a donor and sign consent papers for treatment in the new year. I think it started to sink in when she told us to both please bring photo ID. Is it normal to feel slightly terrified?

Bear1980 · 04/12/2017 19:42

Wow Stork congratulations thats amazing news.

turtle I am ok after trigger had ovitrelle before for IUis so know I am fine with that. This time I have suprecur and ovitrelle I think the suprecur helps with potential overstimulation. I have a high amh so my clinic said that I might not use the ovitrelle but guess everything looked ok because I have to do both injections. Fingers crossed that you don't have OHSS and get to transfer this cycle but honestly if there is any risk it is better to wait.

Thanks pickle I am nervous and excited for tomorrow. Hope they get some mature eggs 😬

Sorry london don't know much about FET but think it is probably tight to move to another clinic now for December cycle and suspect a lot will be closed over xmas. Although I do understand how difficult a 4 month wait would be so no harm in trying I guess.

Tiny i think it's completely normal to get nervous at every stage but good that you are on your way now

pickle162 · 04/12/2017 19:44

Aweee tiny that's wonderful news....finally
:) being terrified is totally part of the course

London I don't know much about fet but could you ask clinic to go on pill so that jan cycle dates can line up? I did this for both my cycles so I could pre book dates as impossibly to get last minute leave from
My work
Most clinics seem to shut down over Xmas so not sure you would find somewhere else this late in the game

kwick · 05/12/2017 08:06

@StorkAhoy CONGRATULATIONS!!!

@TurtleTree what an amazing number! Well done! I hope you can go on to have FET. A friend that had had 24 eggs collected yesterday has to now wait until the new year for FET.

@Mandy002 well done you too! I need to reset over weightloss- I feel like my brain is too busy to concentrate in that at the moment.

@Bear1980 best of luck!!!

@LondonGirl80 many clinics slow down over Christmas. I think you will find it really hard and probably very expensive to try and move now. I know 4 months feels like an eternity but hopefully it will come sooner than you think.
What I do not understand is your comment about travelling to a zika risk area. I think my clinic expects a 4-6 month wait after that type of exposure. Can't you go somewhere else?
Forgive me though as I am operating on very little sleep and may have misunderstood.
What @pickle162 Said!

OP posts:
Bear1980 · 05/12/2017 11:15

Well that's me home, only 3 eggs collected so a bit disappointing (they usually aim for 4 or 5). Embryologist said 2 look good and 1 not so good but difficult to tell at this stage. Can't do anything about it now so will just have to wait till tomorrow to see how many (if any) fertilise.

turtle etc was fine. I was put to sleep in theatre and woke up about half an hour later. I had some cramping (not really pain) and they gave me some painkillers, going to continue with paracetamol today. Feel a bit tired and nauseous from the sedation but sure I will feel better after a nap and some food. Good luck tomorrow with yours

Wonky35 · 05/12/2017 14:25

Am glad things have gone well Bear. I only had 2 fertilise so I had them both put back on day 2 and am now 13+5 weeks. You definitely don't need masses of eggs to be successful. Fingers crossed for yours to fertilise.

I agree with kwick and pickle I'm afraid London in that I can't see there is any way of you getting a FET before Xmas. Even the logistics of getting your paperwork and the embryos transferred to a new clinic will be a headache and will probably take a while to do. I also don't see why you couldn't start on the OCP in order to hangs your cycle to suit your timings and potentially get the FET done in January. Do you have to go to a Zika area though, especially if you do manage to have your FET and get a BFP?

TurtleTree · 05/12/2017 17:21

London I agree with the others that transfer to another clinic would take time. They may well want to do their own blood tests etc as well.

Bear glad things went well, and as my friend keeps telling me you only need 1 so don't dwell too much on the number. Were you expecting more - how many large follies did you have at last scan?

kwick hehe I got an email to say I was mentioned in a post because you started with the '@' - maybe I should start doing this! I don't seem to get an email any more saying there's been a new post on a thread I'm involved in which I used to get - is anyone else finding this?

Bear1980 · 05/12/2017 17:36

Thanks wonky it's good to hear some success stories, there seems to be a few for people with only 3 eggs. Quality not quantity and all that. Just have to wait till tomorrow and take it from there.

Thanks turtle I am trying not to stress too much till I hear tomorrow. I had about 8-10 follicles above 10mm on Friday and dr said he had expected to get 4 or 5 eggs.

pickle162 · 05/12/2017 19:00

Oh bear i hope your baby to be is in those eggs, only takes one so 🤞sweetie. Let us know how things go tomorrow

Turtle I'm having the same, haven't had a notification in quite a while and then I come on in the eve and there is loads of updates

Mandy002 · 05/12/2017 19:19

Hi ladies does anyone know anything about medications that can be taken instead of the combined pill in DE cycles that does the same thing? Thanks I'm kind of freaking out as there are risks for me and the combined pill. 😫😭

pickle162 · 05/12/2017 20:14

First cycle I had mycrogynon but then 2nd I had norethisterone for one of my cycles but just chat with your clinic as you won't be first that can't have combined pill.norethisterone isn't contraceptive pill but works by controlling progesterone levels so can still be used for getting cycles aligned

Mandy002 · 05/12/2017 21:35

Thanks pickle. I will email them tomorrow and see what they say. I'm just so worried they're going to say it's a no go. But I'm sure you're right that I won't be the first. Hope you're doing ok. X

Mandy002 · 06/12/2017 18:48

I emailed the clinic and they said they can use injections to down reg- they haven't said but I'm guessing that might be burserilin as they said it will involve needles- no worries about that though been there before ☺️

pickle162 · 06/12/2017 19:47

Really pleased Mandy

Any news @Bear1980, been checking in all day

Bear1980 · 06/12/2017 20:18

Out of the 3 eggs 1 was immature and 1 doesn't look like it fertilised normally(they are going to keep it going to see what happens). So I am left with 1 fertilised. Not looking great but at least there is 1 left. It was up to me whether I went for 2-day or 5-day transfer. I decided I would rather wait till 5 day to know if it is still developing. They usually don't touch them till transfer day but they are going to check on Friday and see what it looks like (save me going all the way to the clinic unnecessarily). Just a waiting game now, not out yet but odds are not in my favour 😢
