Treasure-* I know you don’t know me but I hope you don’t mind me commenting...he’s gorgeous, fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

Wonky35 · 17/11/2017 07:11

Wow treasure. Congratulations. I hope you didn't buy too many newborn clothes - not sure they will fit him for long!

Good luck kwick and stork. Hope all goes well with you FETs.

So sorry london about your bfn. Take care of yourselves.

LondonGirl80 · 17/11/2017 10:28

Just had phone consult with doc. Okay to move to transfer our frozen embryo.

But so fucked off - have to wait for a month for body to recover, then a combination of clinic shut down and our holiday means we can’t start for another month. So prob mid-Jan.

Feel like I was just hanging on to having a plan and focusing on the next thing, so to be told I have to sit around & do nothing for two months is like a punch to the gut.

Sat in tears. Just too fucking much today.

pickle162 · 17/11/2017 10:45

Oh London massive cuddles! It’s so so hard when you want to get going and your being slowed because of clinic protocols. I felt the same as my clinic have a strict no back to back cycle policy so had to wait however many weeks however when I was on the enforced break I found time went a lot lot quicker compared to the twot! And I just booked myself nice things to do and brought multiple mojitos
Allow yourself to grieve because it is a loss and keep talking to us, we are here for you sweetie. Lots of love xx

kwick · 17/11/2017 17:10

london this is very disappointing. I have been on an enforced break since February due to MC then BMI. In the end I am pleased I had the break - I actually removated my flat (which has been 10 years in the making) and got myself into a better position to be a mummy.

So feel a bit naked as have abandoned work with no laptop (they are reimaging it while I am away)....I also left early #rebel!!!

london it feels weird being on a break but it will go by in no time and you’ll be prepping for FET.**

All systems go kwick are you getting excited?

Ttc2017 · 17/11/2017 19:03

Hi I am trying to decide between iui and IVF using donor sperm. IUI is most likely what I will go for as no known fertility problems (am really hoping for twins!) one miracle would be amazing but two would be fantastic! Any one had any experience of either resulting in twins also can you talk me through the iui process thanks!

Frank77 · 17/11/2017 19:44

I had a bfn this morning unfortunately, so second failed iui cycle.

I have a third already paid for but I’m like u london in that clinic won’t do back to back cycles & with xmas & new year it’s going to be 2018 before I get to try again. Gutting!

I’ve got my sister’s birthday tomorrow so an outing with nieces & nephews who I love but I think it’s going to be tricky not to be envious. Sorry to moan. X

Wish4Future · 17/11/2017 20:18

Oh london I would be gutted to have to wait that long too, I'm so sorry. Thinking of you x
pickle I'm still plodding along quietly, I'm 6+3 now, scan next week and crossing my fingers for a positive result! I'm nauseous all the time so I am really hoping that's a good sign! Xx

pickle162 · 17/11/2017 20:49

Wish I am keeping everything crossed for lovely heartbeat next week. Nausea def a good sign, mine started 6weeks on the dot and is a very positive sign of a healthy bambino

Frank I’m sorry for bfn :(

Ttc2017 i did iui. My consultant gave me odds of 28% conceiving per try and if got pregnant there would be a 20% chance of twins. I had medicated cycle so injection to build up lining, one to stop ovulation and then one trigger ovulation. I was amazing lucky and got preg on try 2. Can also have non medicated iui where you test using LH surge with ovulation sticks and when get a positive usually have iui around 24-36hours later. And you have internal scans along the way with both to see how lining is and how many follicles are growing
Ivf generally has a success rate of around 40-50% but 5-8x more expensive.
Good thing to have checked is your AMH levels which gives you a rough idea of your ovarian reserve ie how many eggs you have left and then the consultant will advice which is the best option for you
Tbh whichever way you do it, it’s stressful, doesn’t always work, complete head fcuk but we have a fab group of people here fo support all the way and there is pretty much someone who has done majority of the options so usually someone to answer questions....and we have got success stories so it’s not all negative but be mindful that even without any fertility problems it may take multiple tries but totally the best thing I ever did 😊....... sorry bit of a waffle
Response.

Wish4Future · 17/11/2017 21:11

Thanks pickle. Nausea started at 4+3 here! No sickness, just the constant feeling of needing to throw up lol! I know it is all worth it! Just can't wait to see a heartbeat! Xx

Ttc2017 · 17/11/2017 21:30

Thanks pickle that's amazing you got pregnant with round 2 :) I'm hoping to go for medicated to get maximum chance of it working and hopefully a chance of getting two little beans as can't afford to go through it to many times. Would you advise getting the 3 cycles clinics offer? Trying to price up / weigh up options. Can't start iui until Jan due to Christmas break but I'm so excited I am wishing the time away! only just come off contraceptive pill also so hoping cycle returns to normal all in time for iui! Have ordered home opk to test this month to give me an idea of when I ovulate for when I have the iui. I'm so sorry to those of you who got bfn try to stay strong and fingers crossed you will get your bfp next time!

pickle162 · 17/11/2017 21:39

24/7 vomiting started for me At 8wks 🤢and last till about 18weeks and now at nearly 20 I am down to may sick every other day but once rather than multiple times. Found it quite reassuring in the end but never want to repeat it. Let us know how get on next week wish

My clinic didn’t do a multiple offer but I paid for enough magic potion for 3 tries as that worked out cheaper and I found it took a little bit of the stress out of it “having” to work the first time
Even if can’t start till January time still get in touch with your clinic sooner rather than later as can take a while to get things started, some clinics make you have counselling first, all make you have blood tests etc so if actually want to do it in Jan then probably need to start getting on the books now :)

StorkAhoy · 17/11/2017 21:55

Welcome ttc! I only have experience of ivf I’m afraid! Good luck with the iuis!

I had my cd10 scan today, lining is at 7.6 mm so instead of booking flights and hopping on a plane on Wednesday for an FET in Thursday, I will need another scan on Monday to check lining again, with a probable FET in Saturday.. eugh! My perfect planning has gone awry!

So im lying here drinking hot POM juice, with a caster oil pack applied to my abdomen hoping it’ll work like it usually does! Cmon lining grow grow grow!

kwick · 18/11/2017 06:21

Welcome TTC!!

frank really sorry Flowers what a fcuker

wish that is a good sign!!!!

stork you are real close though! Hoping you can make it work!
Won’t heating the pom juice kill the nutrients?

LondonGirl80 · 18/11/2017 13:37

Thanks everyone for lovely messages - pickle, kwik, bear and Wish.

Me & the missus had a cry and a rant at the world yesterday, then enjoyed our last day of sun & a nice meal out. I even had a few drinks!

Today feeling much better. Getting excited about being able to run again for a month or so, lose a bit of weight as my activity goes back up to normal levels.

The doc did say we might be able to go in Dec depending on when AF comes. I didn’t quite take it in as was feeling so rotten during the consult. So not pinning hopes on it, but quietly being prepared.

LondonGirl80 · 18/11/2017 14:05

And frank, I am so sorry. You’re not moaning. I’ll dish out the advice others have given to me this week: it’s okay to feel shit, take some time and take care of yourself.

wish, still so excited for you! Keep plodding on x

stork - the best-made plans, eh? Hoping for a nice thick lining at your scan on Monday.

LondonGirl80 · 18/11/2017 14:41

TTC, I did two rounds of iui this summer/autumn.

On both I had Gonal F injections every other day for 12 days, starting on day 2 of my period (ie CD2). Lots of scans throughout to check follicles growing. On CD14 I had a trigger injection to make me ovulate, and then IUI was on CD15. Two weeks of progesterone pessaries and then test day.

Unfortunately neither took, so we moved on to IVF. We had bought a 3 round deal, but ended up abandoning the third round. The deciding factor for us was the cost of donor sperm - and how quickly it was getting used up. We bought 5 vials for about £5k from Xytex. Using a whole vial on a sub-20% chance felt silly when one vial could fertilise multiple eggs (and fresh & frozen rounds) with IVF. So we switched last month.

We were warned about multiple birth risk but nothing more than that. Do ask any questions about IUi in general though & I’ll see if I can answer.

Ttc2017 · 18/11/2017 16:52

London thanks and I'm so sorry iui didn't work for u! How are you finding ivf? I was hoping for iui due to the fact I already have children and no fertility problems that I know of. can I ask if you had any fertility problems did you get many follicles / eggs on the iuis? I to will be using donor sperm so am worried about costs mounting up not sure weather to go for one iui or three as three package is same price as two and might take some pressure off first time. Good luck for next week stork what is fet? X

Ttc2017 · 18/11/2017 16:54

Regarding the iui how much diu you have to pay out for tests etc before the process started is it right I can go to my gp for alot of them

Mandy002 · 18/11/2017 17:04

TTC ive been told by my clinic to go to the GP for blood tests- my previous ivf most of the blood was done by the GP the only one I had to pay for was the AMH if that’s any help.
