This thread is for anyone trying to conceive... or thinking about doing so through donor IUI or donor IVF. Nothing TMI - feel free to join, we are a lovely group here to support and help keep the cray-cray away!

I'm so sorry late take care xxx

LondonGirl80 · 11/11/2017 17:32

So sorry late. Big hugs x

A quick update and a question (maybe tmi). Embryo transfer was 4 Nov (ie a week ago). OTD is Thursday 16 (this Thurs).

If I weren’t pregnant my period would usually come today. I have just had some very limited brownish discharge. Anyone experienced this?

Hoping it’s just the meds messing up my body... but a bit scared and weepy if I’m honest.

Mandy002 · 11/11/2017 18:45

Fingers crossed for you london x

kwick · 11/11/2017 20:27

@LondonGirl80 deep breaths darling.
Are you on Crinone Gel? That can give a discharge.

@Mandy002 I am going to start my hypnosis CD after FET - which helps you get through the 2WW. It is by Helen McPherson.

Thanks kwick I’ll give that a go when the time comes. Good luck to you x

pickle162 · 11/11/2017 20:32

London - could be implantation or just old stuff coming out.
I didn’t have anything like that- had more creamy sticky cm fluid during last week but think it’s pretty normal to have something with implantation.
If you had ivf only a week ago your cycle would unlikely to stay the same, ie af would most likely be delayed. Keeping everything crossed x

Wish4Future · 11/11/2017 21:21

Crossing everything for you london, I didn't have IVF so it's probably different but this time I had some brown/pink spotting for a day or so (which after last time freaked me right out!) But it stopped after a day. Sending all the luck!

Munrowalker · 11/11/2017 23:49

So sorry to hear of your BFN late. Nothing we can say except that we are all hoping that 2018 will be our years.
London. It could be so many things. I guess it's easier said than done but try to not dwell on it too much until official test day. So hard I know.
I found the free bits of the calm app to be helpful for mindfulness and also like the sleep stories to stop me overthinking and not sleeping.

kwick · 12/11/2017 06:14

I have recently downloaded an app called “Aura” - which gives me a free 3 minute mindfulness session each day (you can pay to upgrade to get longer sessions and unlimited times).

Hi does anyone know how to access PMs on here? I had an email saying I had one the other day and can’t figure out how to see it.

Pez82 · 12/11/2017 09:26

I think PMs are only accessible via the website, not the app - which is a bit of a pain

Mandy002 · 12/11/2017 11:01

Thanks pez how do u do it on there?

kwick · 12/11/2017 17:51

@Mandy002 if you are in the app and click on “Topics” then the right hand menu icon you will get the screen below, click on Policies and you will be able to access your InBox

Thanks quick found it x

LondonGirl80 · 13/11/2017 13:40

Thanks for the support & suggestions Mandy, kwik, Pickle, Wish, and Munro.

I’ve been taking your advice & chilling out - helped by being on a long-booked (but perfectly timed!) holiday in the sun with the missus.

No further spotting to speak of thank goodness, so feeling much better. Just putting it all out of my mind and resting up!

OTD is Thursday. I’ll still be here, so my consolation if it’s bfn will be wine with dinner that night!

Hello lovely ladies Smile

I've been AWOL for so long now that I've completely lost what's going on, but I'm going to try my best to catch up. Might take me a while though Wink

Everything here has been so hectic the last few months. Every plan I had baby wise has completely been put on the back burner and I'm gutted because I'm itching to get started but it just hasn't been possible. I'm really hoping that at some point next year I'll be able to start... This year has been a complete waste of time in all shapes and forms so fingers crossed next year is better!

How's everyone doing? I've missed you ladies!

kwick · 13/11/2017 18:37

@CautionHormone so nice to have you back!!! I have PMed you 😘

Welcome back caution I have been wondering how you have been. Hope you are doing ok, what’s your new plan?

SuzieBergman123 · 13/11/2017 21:15

Hi all, I am 45. Been TTC for the last 4 years. Have had 4 miscarriages (natural conception) as well as two failed IVF PGS procedures. Chromosomal abnormalities. DH has been tested and he is in a good shape – I am the problem. Bad old eggs. Sad, I must admit. I am considering trying another round of IVF PGS. I have read about donor cytoplasmic transfer – or what the press calls: 3-parent-babies. They take the protein/embryo from DH and I - and inject it into the mitochondria of a donor egg. So if successful – the baby may have 5-15 per cent DNA of the donor egg – but the rest is us. It is not available in the EU – but available in the following 3 clinics:

nadiyaclinic.com/news/worlds-first-baby-with-dna-of-three-parents-was-born-in-ukraine-after-using-the-pronuclear-transfer/

www.fertimed.cz/en/infertility-cytoplasmic-transfer/

www.northcyprusivf.com/treatments/cytoplasmic-transfer/

The BBC has covered the story – so I reckon it’s a matter of time before it becomes available here:
www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-38648981

Has anyone tried cytoplasmic transfer or considered trying it? Looking for thoughts, guidance and personal experiences....Thank you!

kwick · 14/11/2017 08:09

Welcome @SuzieBergman123 !!!
I am very sorry to hear of the hard road you have been on so far.
I had not heard of the below - very interesting.
I am just about to have (well hopefully and in a few days) a FET using donor eggs and donor magic potion.
I thought I would not be comfortable about this choice but you know cytogenetics rock 🤟🏼 and I also am a great believer in nuture over nature.
Best of luck with your journey.

Wonky35 · 14/11/2017 11:24

Hi suzie. I was aware of this for use in cases of mitochondrial disease but not for infertility so definitely no expert. What I don't understand is how they expect it to help you given that your previous problems have been with chromosomal abnormalities. Did they discuss this with you?

kwick · 14/11/2017 12:20

My lining scan went well and now I am just waiting to hear back from IVI so I can book flights.

So, stupidly tested two days before OTD. BFN. Will test again tomorrow & thurs, which is my OTD. Everyone telling me to keep chin up, lots of stories of negative results before pregnancies... No AF yet. We’ll see.
