Thanks late. I was on progesterone pessaires last time I did IVF. Apparently they work just as well as the needles and although a bit messy are definitely not painful.

Pez82 · 07/11/2017 19:34

Congratulations Karen!!! So happy for you. Hope you and Baby are recovering fine and you can be home soon. If I remember correctly you were 6 weeks ahead of me so you basically went into labour on your due date??!!

pickle162 · 07/11/2017 19:44

Ah Karen I’m so pleased your beautiful baby is finally here safe and sound.
Thanks for sharing a pic, often wonder how you’ve been getting on...and finally some time off work :)
Huge congratulations sweetie xx

EarlGreyT · 07/11/2017 21:48

Mandy002 the clexane is an injection (with a fine needle!). There’s some evidence it helps with implantation and with uterine/placental blood flow and reduces the risk of miscarriage.

EarlGreyT · 07/11/2017 21:50

Oh and, of the medication I mentioned, clexane is the only one which is an injection.

Somewherethatsgreen · 07/11/2017 22:39

Congratulations Karen! Your little one is lovely!

Somewherethatsgreen · 07/11/2017 22:40

Thank you Wonky, that's good to know. I will try and get this done early in the new year.

Latenightreader · 07/11/2017 23:57

The pessaries weren't a high enough dose for me Mandy (according to the doctor) because I was spotting fairly early and they should have prevented it completely at that stage, hence adding in the injections this time! I sometimes wish they did more blood tests - I am sure it isn't, but does feel a bit like guess work...

witchmountain · 08/11/2017 00:40

Congratulations Karen! Had been thinking you must be due soon! Long labour followed by emergency C section sounds like the worst of both worlds but I hope you’re both recovering and getting to know each other now. So pleased it’s all happened for you, what a different year to last year!

Wish4Future · 08/11/2017 07:06

Congratulations karen! How exciting, a beautiful bundle of joy xxx

kwick · 08/11/2017 20:45

@Karendvm the best news!!! Thank you so much for the photo!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! 😘
Are we allowed to know the name pleeeeeeeeease???

late I have taken Prontogest but before I knew about Asda. If you have an original prescription you should be fine.

mandy my previous FC, CRGH, obliged me to use a specific pharmacy and I also had to take a shed load of drugs. I hope you do not mind me asking but why are you on Metformin? I am on it too for PCOS - 3 tablets a day.
With my first BFP I was on 3 types of progesterone to boost my levels - crinone gel, cyclogest and prontogest.

What a week!!! Crazy busy at work - but better busy than bored right?

Latenightreader · 09/11/2017 11:42

Asda don't do prontogest or lubion... I have asked the clinic for a separate prescription in case I need it and I'll get the injections at Boots, and the rest of the patches and pills at Asda. I have to buy the needles from the clinic as Boots don't supply them!

At this stage in the previous two ivfs I'd been spotting increasingly heavily, and I haven't at all this time. I'm not getting too excited though - I'm on that many drugs my hormones wouldn't know where to start!

StorkAhoy · 09/11/2017 18:43

Congrats karen how beautiful!!!! Do we have a name yet?!!

I’m on clexane - oh the fun. IVF meds used to be 2k per round, now I’m paying 250 for my first round and only 100 for this round of donor eggs..... as i had some meds left from round one. Love it when that happens!

Pez82 · 09/11/2017 20:40

Late, keeping everything crossed this is your time xx

Wish4Future · 09/11/2017 21:04

Fingers crossed late, I'm the same, no spitting so far so fingers crossed!

Wish4Future · 09/11/2017 21:04

Spotting lol!

TreasureInMyTummy · 09/11/2017 23:55

Congratulations karen, I have c section booked for Wednesday and can't wait to meet my little one.

Hi everyone, lots of new faces on here- good luck to everyone. I still lurk and catch up on the feed to see how everyone is doing - especially those ladies who supported me when I was going through my iui process xxxxx

Pez82 · 10/11/2017 16:42

Oh exciting treasure, it’s odd to be getting there after the disappointments earlier in the year. Mine is pretty much engaged at 34+3, I feel like my pelvic floor won’t hold her for much longer!!!

Best of luck for next Wednesday xx

Wish, Late, keep us updated as soon as you have news!!!

pickle162 · 10/11/2017 20:13

Ahhhh treasure Wednesday you must be beyond excited 💙💗 please let us know how you get on and what you have. I’m so so happy for you sweetie

Not long for you pez :)

Wish/Late keeping everything crossed

Latenightreader · 11/11/2017 07:06

Another negative for me. The one thing I can take from this is that I can drink at Christmas. Might start tonight.

Pez82 · 11/11/2017 09:26

Oh Late, I am so gutted for you, I don’t know what to say apart from look after yourself and let us know if there anything we can do. 2018 will bring you your baby I’m sure. Xx

kwick · 11/11/2017 12:31

So sorry Late 💐xx

Mandy002 · 11/11/2017 15:54

So sorry to hear about your BFN late. Look after yourself. I’m sure you will get there in the end.

Mandy002 · 11/11/2017 16:02

Kwick I don’t mind you asking...I was on menopur with the last IVF I did which wasn’t successful. I’m hoping that this DE cycle will be more positve. I had an appt yesterday and they said I will be on the pill for 4 weeks when they find a donor then progesterone pessaires and oestrogen tablets until FET. Does anyone have any advice on what else I should be doing or should know.
