pickle I'm on Cyclogest progesterone for luteal support, my OTD is day 16 and I'm going crazy lol. Did you see 2 lines from day 13 then?
Also, I think you've already said but did you feel any symptoms? I am (trying not to and failing miserably) reading into everything! Lol!

pickle162 · 09/08/2017 20:17

I don't think progesterone shows up on pregnancy tests but others that were on that would know better than me. I tested the whole way through my first cycle, because of the injections I was on I had a positive from day 1 but that wasn't anything to do with my body just the injections but on cycle 1 by day 15 the tests were getting lighter, this cycle the lines got darker and then stayed the same
No didn't have any symptoms except for 5 mins of sharp pain on day 9 and then from day 13 onwards I had cramping and twinges in lower abdomen/pelvis and a creamy stick cm fluid all the way through from around day 7 I think

Feeling a bit ropey and sicky this evening, think I'll head to bed at 9

TreasureInMyTummy · 09/08/2017 20:21

Yay congrats Pickle. Great news and pic xxxxxxx eat all you can and want and desire for next couple of weeks as morning sickness made me really sad when I went off all food xxx

Great to see new people joining this thread - welcome - it made it feel real for me when I came on here to start talking about it with the other ladies :) good luck to all and thoughts to those in TWOT xx

26 weeks on Friday and I look big - never felt so big before people constantly asking when due and when I say November they follow with 'twins?' I have started saying to one or two people it's trapped wind when they look at my tum just to avoid the questions lol xx 😘

Karen - I am still anxious too. I have an anterior placenta ( it's at the front) some days I still don't feel anything, other days I feel slight movements ( which still feel like wind) maybe once or twice a day. It's so hard not feeling kicks as a way of reassurance that everything is ok. Still waiting for day I feel happy and confident with pregnancy x

StorkAhoy · 09/08/2017 20:39

Oh ever did they send you a prescription for the injection to fill here, or send the meds?

TurtleTree · 09/08/2017 20:56

Gosh Snork that has taken a while to get sorted. I am glad now that I've moved my timelines up a bit as I had slightly unrealistic expectations - I've started inquiries now rather than the New Year but will prob end up starting actual treatment at a similar time to I originally thought by the sounds of it. Best of luck with your first cycle!

So great to hear from you guys that are preggers - thanks for coming back to give us inspiration!

TurtleTree · 09/08/2017 20:57

Also pickle I completely awww'd at "picklet"

pickle162 · 09/08/2017 21:19

Thanks treasure lucky no.2 try for me to :) xx

🐢 picklet is one name, he/she tends to be called sprout or beansprout 😁

Pez82 · 09/08/2017 21:57

Hey treasure, nice to hear from you 😊
I have a low lying placenta so not great either but at least it means I feel plenty of kicks and somersaults which has helped me relax a bit in the past weeks (I'm 21 weeks now so not too far behind!). I hope you start feeling regular movement very soon but at 26 weeks it's looking good, and even if you're not feeling much I'm sure the little treasure is training for the next olympics in here!
This said, I'm not sure we'll ever be able to relax fully after the journey we had conceiving 😉

TinyPaws · 09/08/2017 22:37

Wow, just got caught up on everything.

Amazing news pickle!

Well, I went to my appointment. There were some surprises. The staff all treated my girlfriend really well - no more Hmm moments!

I was quoted the following options/success rates:
Unstimulated IUI ~10%
Stimulated IUI ~15%
IVF ~45%

I was originally thinking IUI but if those % are correct it might be enough to push me straight to IVF. Anyone know what the chances of having frozen embryos left over are after an IVF cycle?

The other surprise was that the wait time for another appointment is 6 months Shock. It's been enough to make me look at other clinics, however the one I'm at is both significantly cheaper and more convenient to get to than all alternatives I've looked at so far. It's not that I don't want to move it's that I haven't found anything else I like enough to move to. I'm researching other options though (including IVF abroad).

I've been referred for a hysterosalpingogram - waiting for my next cycle to begin so I can make the appointment. Hopefully my tubes are patent but if not at least that will make the IUI vs IVF decision for me.

Lots to think about!!

Everhopeful76 · 09/08/2017 22:57

Stork it was recommended that I had the period blood testing, and think its 300euros for 2 separate tests. Yes have to post it in a urine sample bottle and wrap it well haha. I also have to stick it in fridge till 20th August as cant post it till then because of the summer closure.
I have the prescription (in hard copy and emailed), not the drugs yet!!
Found out tonight the success rates are based on double transfer, not single, so its around 33% chance with 1 (5% chance of twins) 65% with 2 transferred (and 40 % chance of twins) Eek x

TreasureInMyTummy · 09/08/2017 23:35

Pickle I say little sprout too! Xx

Pez lovely to hear from you - agreed re journey, makes this extra special but also extra worrying. X

StorkAhoy · 10/08/2017 07:50

yeah, those stats are saying pop in two ever!

crikey!

Everhopeful76 · 10/08/2017 19:39

stork I hadn't realised. Bloody hell!! Just hope I do get 4 or 5 embryos in a cycle so have a few options!! Might have 2 back then, although 33 pc is only like any other ivf cycle I guess xx

StorkAhoy · 10/08/2017 20:41

Yes, it's is ever that is a standard ivf cycle, and no good that did me! 2 embies ahoy!

Everhopeful76 · 10/08/2017 20:55

It does make me wonder where these stats come from stork because you also had 2 with OEs so you d think yr odds would be higher then too!! Maybe I'm 2 embies ahoy 2 x

Wonky35 · 10/08/2017 22:17

I am shocked on how long it is going to take to get started with treatments tiny and turtle.

Is the delay on starting because you are planning on donating your eggs turtle? Seems a bit unreasonable to not be able to start treatment until next year! I had my first appointment with the consultant only 1 month after I went to the open evening at Herts and Essex. The only reason why I have had to wait an extra couple of months is to fit in with my work schedule, holidays and annual leave.

So is the ~65% success rate that is quoted for normal IVF always based on transferring 2 ever? I definitely haven't been told that before!

Can I ask singles on here, how do people generally react when you tell them you have had IVF with donor sperm? I'm not meaning friends and family but more like acquaintances or work colleagues.

pickle162 · 11/08/2017 02:26

Wonky I've worked with my colleagues for 10+ years so they are more like friends/family but no one was surprised for me, apart from the odd short relationship they know I'm really not fussed about having a boyfriend so don't think it was a huge shock. The only person from work that reacted badly was one of my close friends who said I "should just wait and do it the proper way" but she is a bit traditional ( some May Day judgemental) I imagine those outside the main people
I work with like some of the admin may wonder but I don't really care this is so the right thing for me.
More worried about what my mother will say as although a good chunk of friends and a couple of family members know my mum and dad don't as think (know) my mum will be negative......"ah you've ruined your life! How will you cope?! You won't have enough money" etc etc but she won't be told until at least 12 weeks and I've had a scan and then there isn't much she can do about it 😬

Bear1980 · 11/08/2017 06:34

I have decided to only tell close friends and family and they have all been really supportive. I am sure work colleagues etc will wonder as they know I am not in a relationship but I feel like it's really none of their business. The people who need to know are those who will interact with the child on a regular basis because they need to be prepared for any questions.

kwick · 11/08/2017 06:46

Thanks Ever so in theory you could do a day trip? Just trying to figure out if I need to keep vacation days for this. Probably best to!

Getting close now stork!

snork so pleased everything is finally falling into place 😘

Well done london and 🤞🏼

pickle it is sooooo good to see two lines!

wish progesterone will not impact pregnancy tests but may delay AF if it is a BFN. My old FC said to stop taking if you got a BFN on OTD.

Haha treasure!! trapped wind 😂

wonky I do not necessarily mention IVF - as I have done different treatments but all work colleagues I have told have been very supportive. Less have known about my 2 MCs (very close ones or ones who have found me crying). I am not sure what kind of reactions I will get when I do actually have a bump - I think most will just think I have gained weight again 😬

Ladies I am happy to kick off the new thread but will not be ablt to do so until Sunday - hope this one does not run out before then!

Hi all,

Can I ask a slightly icky question about progesterone pessaries?

I can't get them to stay in! Is there an instruction I'm missing - just told to pop them up vagina or rectum in the evening and then just carry on. Ended up with it melting into my knickers on two days.I feel pretty stressed about this... is this usual? Has anyone else had any experience of this?

Thanks in advance for your wisdom ladies Flowers

Wish4Future · 11/08/2017 11:57

london they do melt and my clinic assured me that's fine and enough of the drug is absorbed before that happens. However, they did also to tell me to do it before bed and lay down for about half an hour while the absorbing happens. I tend to then go wipe myself before sleeping, because it's so icky! They said that's absolutely normal due to the vegetable fat they are encased in so don't get yourself worried over it! Xxx

Wish4Future · 11/08/2017 11:58

Ps I just do the vagina as I couldn't manage the rectum! Lol

LondonGirl80 · 11/08/2017 12:11

Oh that's so reassuring, thank you wish! Flowers** So, tonight I'll make sure I lie down after inserting, and maybe do a bit later then.

Wish4Future · 11/08/2017 12:17

Yeah I've been doing it about half an hour before bed!

kwick · 11/08/2017 14:49

london I had a pessary leakage through my knickers, through my trousers on to a chair at work 😩 not my best day
At one point I was on 3 crinone, 3 cyclogests and a progesterone injection every day... I found the melting situation worse when I went up the jacksie so I just did regular intervals up the fanjo and wore pads...
