Oh pickle! I'm so chuffed for you. Good luck everyone else!
I've been feeling very 'ordinary since the IUI, am on day 3 now. Waiting sucks! I have tender breasts but I had them before the IUI a little too, so thinking that's from the hormones I was injecting! I had one 30 second twinge yesterday but I have no clue. No symptoms as yet. It's super early days and I keep reminding myself to be positive but it's super hard! I get what you've all been talking about with the TWOT now! Fingers crossed thay one of the sperm found one of my eggs (there were potentially 2 as I had 2 mature follies) I'll keep you posted!!! X

LondonGirl80 · 04/08/2017 12:23

So so delighted for you pickle!

And keeping everything crossed for you wish - I feel like I'm following along behind you!

Today I went for second scan, 4 nice big follicles 10-13mm, so carrying on with Gonal F til Tuesday when I'll go back for another scan. And then probably IUI on Wednesday. Of course, if I ovulate before then all that is off and we're back to the clinic that day for IUI.

Trying to keep a lid on wishing time would speed up... all in good time!

TurtleTree · 04/08/2017 18:20

Pickle brilliant news! So exciting.

Good luck to everyone else with imminent treatments too.

Ever I'm single, 34, in Herts. Had a frustrating experience with Create which were nearest (despite me chasing and chasing and chasing no one has still got back to me to price up my treatment plan and book next appt) so have given up on them and think I'll be carrying on with Herts & Essex Fertility.

Everhopeful76 · 04/08/2017 20:38

Stork the test should be included anyway really, I had this one done as a whole package but for some reason they didn't do it at Concept, even though they do the test separately for 35 quid. Hmmm. Think its 30 euro to have done at Serum. So may as well just do it there, they ve said its fine. I think the first round of IVF I had chlamydia test too, but seems to be a lesser requirement. Would be great if the tests needed were a bit clearer for what is required for your specific clinic. Always seems to be a communication breakdown with this.
They ve also said that when Despina, the paperwork lady returns from hols they can book an appt for the notary certificate. So will stick with that too.
Did you have any of your embryos PGS tested? I guess with using a very young and fertile donor this will get to the bottom of whether its a seed or soil issue. My protocol includes steroids, and antibiotics, never needed those before. Hopefully it will go amazingly well and you will not need to look back. You deserve it xx

StorkAhoy · 04/08/2017 21:02

ever thanks honey! I'm probably going to need that as I think my last chlamydia test was a year ago ahead of my first ivf round.

Love that they are still answering emails!

I had antibiotics and steroids on this last ivf round, so yes, changing the egg situation should give us a seed or soil nod!

Wonky35 · 04/08/2017 21:19

I am also going to Herts and Essex Turtle. When are you planning on starting your treatment?

pickle162 · 05/08/2017 08:55

London exciting about follicles :)
have they said what will happen if 4 remain big-will they aspirate (suck some out before iui)
Not long to wait then you can join wish on the dreaded twot 😬😁😫🙃

Think I'm going to have to test again today, womble felt quite similar to how feels before af (which apparently can be normal) still boobs seem to be bigger, mild cramping and bloating. Just brought some more cheapie tests 20 for £2.50 of eBay so I can just test until the scan. For 2.50 to keep mind at rest I thought it was worth it. I'm not particularly panicking about it but think I set myself up for this when I started testing daily since Sunday
I can't believe when my sister got pregnant a year ish ago she did one test and that was it.....no more just one!!!!! 😱how?!?!??! She is a completely different character to me (obviously!!!!)

LondonGirl80 · 05/08/2017 14:49

I hadn't thought about that pickle. Will have to ask when I go in on Tues. they did warn us about multiples, though. Thank you - something to add to the list of questions.

This thread is really helping me feel prepared and more knowledgeable about what might happen & what I need to think about. Thank you ladies Flowers

pickle162 · 05/08/2017 16:47

My clinic won't allow anyone to do iui with more than 2 dominant follicles. If more they either advice the cycle is cancelled or under sedation whilst doing the iui they suck the excess out cos really don't want 4 babies 😱 but usually when you have your next scan 1 or 2 will have jumped again.
First time round I had 2 dominant ones and this time I just had one lovely juicy one which was bigger (even if was a bit of a mission to get there)
So excited for everyone, we have a lot
Coming up on this thread :)

kwick · 05/08/2017 17:08

pickle I see no harm in testing throughout, if it gives you peace of mind.

TurtleTree · 05/08/2017 22:17

Wonky, I've just started initial queries with them, waiting to hear back as have asked about egg share (getting IVF free if you donate half your collected eggs). Would be so excited to do that and help someone else but not sure if family medical history is up to scratch. Got a big trip coming up so hoping to start in Oct when I'm back (but do the prelim testing etc before hopefully). So only just behind you! What's been your experience of the clinic so far?

Angliski · 06/08/2017 09:29

Pickle so so happy for you congratulations!!! An inspiration to us all.

Had my third iui two weeks ago started spitting on day 12 thought it might be implantation bleeding but it seems to be getting heavier so is prob earlier af. We are very disappointed after losing number 1 and bfn on number 2. After the holidays we will go straight to ivf as I don't think I can take this any more!!!

pickle162 · 06/08/2017 09:52

Oh angliski I'm so sorry sweetie 💐 I would have probably moved to ivf to as at least you know the sperm meets the egg plus hopefully can get some Frosties too. xx

Karendvm · 07/08/2017 03:44

Hi everyone! It's popping on to see how everyone is getting along. I'm so far behind I'll never catch up. But pickle! Congrats! Very happy for you. Best of luck to everyone. Currently 27 weeks. I have to say the stress and anxiety had not settled down. But my dr has been great. Currently thinking about selling my house and moving back east to live with my parents for my mat leave. Lots to think about. Anyhoo just wanted to say hi! This thread was a life saver for me.

Wish4Future · 07/08/2017 09:01

Hi all, hope everyone is plodding along happily.

London I'll be interested to see what they say abbot your follicles. Our clinic told us if there are more than 3 the HFEA guidelines say they aren't allowed to inseminate, so that's when aspiration or abandoning the cycle would come into play. Your clinic might have different rules? Did they reduce your medication when there were four? I'm so excited for you, hopefully tomorrow there will be some mature follicles and you can trigger!

As for me, we are on 6dpiui. I've had really tender boobs from day one, which I was convinced was the injections but it's continues so may be the progesterone or something else. I had a twinge on day 2 and several crampy twinges yesterday at 5dpiui. It's so easy to read into everything so I'm trying not to do that! Fingers crossed for a good result! Xx

Wonky35 · 07/08/2017 10:41

Really sorry to hear about af angliski Flowers. It is particularly tough if it looked like you had implantation bleeding. As pickle said at least with IVF you know the fertilisation has happened and the stats are generally better for IVF.

Turtle I have found Herts and Essex okay. A friend of mine had a really good experience but mine has been mixed. They seem to have a tendency to assume you want all the expensive extras that don't have much evidence behind them (SIS, pipelle, embryo glue, ICSI due to donor sperm etc.) and don't really discuss them with you unless you specifically ask. Also found the embryology lab a bit annoying. Firstly they said that I could choose a donor from LSB then when I chose one they said they would not accept any donor from Seattle Sperm Bank (I.e. Half of the people on the LSB) and wouldn't tell me why despite me pushing. Secondly you seem to have to chase them a lot. They were supposed to send my contact details to xytex so they could contact me to pay for the next sperm I had chosen. They neglected to do so, I had to chase and then phone xytex myself and then found out they have run out of amps from my preferred donor. Aahhh!

StorkAhoy · 07/08/2017 17:51

Hey karen great to hear from you! My goodness that has gone by quickly! Lots of changes for you clearly! Stay in touch! Xx

ever re notary, apparently one needs an appt at their offices, so bear that in mind if you are planning on having it all (transfer and notary) done on one day!

pickle162 · 07/08/2017 18:16

Hey karen I was thinking about you the other day and how You were getting on. Sorry the anxiety hasn't settled xx
Thank you. So chuffed (want to test multiple times a day tho as don't believe it)

TurtleTree · 07/08/2017 18:48

Oh Wonky thanks for the info but how annoying. Having to chase is a real bug bear of mine. I also don't want them to assume all the extras. I'll be prepared now!

I'm finding it all very frustrating. They both say no waiting list so I excitedly thought I'd have a few appts and start a cycle within 2 months. But now it's looking like not happening any time soon Angry. I'm not patient at the best of times!

pickle162 · 07/08/2017 19:09

🐢 I found the same about expectations of how quickly I could get things done. The consultant made it out that I could be seen quickly but then when tried to book things it was like no you need to wait for the nurses to contact you 🙄 in the end I waited till may to have first treatment but could have had it done sooner but wanted to be in control of it lol!
You will get there in the end :)

Everhopeful76 · 07/08/2017 19:43

Stork yes I will be booking an appointment with notary office, when the clinic reopens on 28th August!!
Just waiting on my period to get the down reg date. If its late, I might u-turn and do donor embryos!! x

StorkAhoy · 08/08/2017 08:11

Oooh Ever help! I don't get the link between down reg date impacting your decision to u-turn? Whats your thinking? xx

Wish4Future · 08/08/2017 08:23

Good luck london! Looking forward to hearing about your follies! X

kwick · 08/08/2017 08:25

Hiya karen!!! Any chance we can get a piccie of your bump! Good to hear all is well.

wish progesterone definitely can make boobs tender

angliski Flowers what a fcuker

ever I am a tad confused... if not doing donor embryos what are you doing? Confused

OP posts:
StorkAhoy · 08/08/2017 08:54

Kwick Ever is doing double donor, i.e. selected donors for a fresh transfer, rather than embryo donation, i.e. already created embryos for a FET.
