Hi everyone else, hope your all doing ok?!

@INeedNewShoes how are you feeling? Managing to do much at the mo? Oh how is your mums arm getting on?keep us updated about next week (when your up to it-obviously )

LRDtheFeministDragon · 29/04/2017 10:01

Oh, sorry! I could have sworn I posted under this name, but I didn't. I was briefly on as robinsareterritorialfuckers. Apparently. DP had IUI with donor sperm. We were hugely lucky and we now have DD. So I'm back to try for me this time.

Bear1980 · 29/04/2017 18:05

Nice weekend away before I start traetment next week 😄

Munrowalker · 29/04/2017 18:36

Bear that looks fab!!! Well jealous
I'm having a quiet one at home.

Pez82 · 29/04/2017 18:47

@Munrowalker, have you had your second IUI done? I think you said it would be either Friday or Saturday?

Munrowalker · 29/04/2017 19:21

No...pee stick says no!
And it's still negative today. Not sure what's going on...trying not to panic. I'm normally day16 ovulation and today is 18 😨

pickle162 · 29/04/2017 19:24

Ooh yes @Munrowalker did u have your iui?

@Bear1980 what date are you thinking iui will be?

pickle162 · 29/04/2017 19:28

Oh bugger @Munrowalker hopefully tomorrow and then you'll be able to have iui Monday/Tuesday. Our bodies really are crap when they need to be

Munrowalker · 29/04/2017 19:33

I know pickle! Just when you think you have it sussed. Just annoying

Bear1980 · 29/04/2017 19:36

@pickle162 I am expecting it to be around 19th May. Baseline scan and start Letrozole hopefully next week. Will have a couple of scans week 10th May and then trigger shot whenever the follicles are big enough. What is your schedule again, are you around the 12-15th?

pickle162 · 29/04/2017 19:40

Baseline tue 2nd, and start injections then rescan 10th and 12th with iui prob on 15th so should be around the same time :)

Bear1980 · 29/04/2017 19:49

Yay so exciting and nervous too, have you had counselling? I have been trying to arrange a time to go to the counsellor but finding it tough to fit in. Wondered what people's thoughts were on whether it was helpful?

Bear1980 · 29/04/2017 19:50

@Munrowalker it's so annoying always the cycle you want to run like clockwork is the one that messes up. Hope you get a positive soon.

Pez82 · 29/04/2017 20:15

Sorry for bringing this matter again but are you taking Pregnacare conception or vitamin B complex Munro?

Munrowalker · 29/04/2017 21:05

I'm just taking folic acid and vitamin d pez. I'd heard some of the others can affect your cycle?

Pez82 · 29/04/2017 21:10

I know it delayed my ovulation and it has for others too which is why I was checking 😉
Our cycles never behave as we would need, your surge is probably just round the corner 😊

pickle162 · 29/04/2017 22:03

@Bear1980 I had implications counselling 2nd Feb because at my clinic they don't allow you to even order sperm before you've had the counselling
I really enjoyed the counselling session- just went through about whether I'd thought about how/if I'd tell the child etc , can't really remember what else we chatted about but was only 40/45mins so went quick. she then told me I'd obviously done my research 😂 if you don't HAVE to have it then I wouldn't bother as I didn't overly learn anything but was nice to have a chat with someone about it all in real life that wasn't directly involved in the process and nice to know they are there if I need them throughout the ttc process

witchmountain · 29/04/2017 22:09

I think it should be a thread rule that one of you in Scotland has to post a picture every weekend :)

Bear, the counselling is worth doing I think. I have therapy anyway so I had already talked A LOT about it and also with close friends, but it's more that they make sure you understand the legal implications and possible emotional implications for you and the child, and think about who you will tell and how etc. I figured I had nothing to lose. I think the only thing I learnt was that donors can withdraw their consent at any time, which I think I did know but I hadn't thought about the implications of that for frozen embryos, or if you did IUI and wanted a sibling. So worth doing just to make sure you're going in with your eyes open.

Munrowalker · 29/04/2017 22:32

In the spirt of a Scotland photo. Here's Loch Ness from up a hill. Taken on a recent walk. Not today....I'm feeling lazy today!

Bear1980 · 29/04/2017 22:47

Nice photo Munro there is some beautiful landscape up here.

Thanks for the advice re:counselling I thought it might be worthwhile because other than 1 friend and on here I haven't talked about it with anyone. Although am fairly clear in my mind that I will be honest with my child regarding their roorts and therefore will also be telling close friends and family. Thought the counselling might help with how to tell people. I will see if I can fit a session in but guess i won't stress too much if it's not possible. Feel i can't move things around anymore at work without questions being asked

Munrowalker · 29/04/2017 23:07

The counselling session was compulsory at our clinic. It was okay but didn't really explore anything we hadn't already considered.

pickle162 · 29/04/2017 23:34

So pretty Munro
my clinic was the same as Munro's that counselling was compulsory so might be worth checking whether you do or don't have to have before they spring that on you last minute that you can't have iui if you haven't had it.
Some clinics do the counselling on a Saturday too.

INeedNewShoes · 30/04/2017 08:01

Witch - my C section is booked for Friday, when I'll be 39+1.

Pickle - thanks for checking up on me Smile I'm feeling pretty good thanks. I've got 3 hours of my last freelance project to finish today and probably a day or two more of jobs at home (just organising baby's things and cleaning really) so everything feels relatively under control. My parents are here now and have been helping with various things. My mum's shoulder is healing well so she'll definitely be able to pick up baby which was my main concern! I've got lots of offers of support from family and friends so everything feels as ok as it can be. I'm feeling a mixture of excited to meet baby and apprehensive about recovery from surgery and coping with a newborn!

PhoenixMama · 30/04/2017 08:38

How exciting Shoes! That amazing.

Bear I haven't done specific counselling for this but I have discussed it at length with close friends and with my therapist. I see it more as a way to organise and compose my thoughts than about whether it's the right decision.

Munro loving those Scotland pic. My dad & Gran were born in Scotland so I have such an affinity for the place. DD has an old Scottish name too.

CHEAP OPK KLAXON
