Phoenix; I know exactly what you're saying, but it can and does work, even though you're 40(?). My godmother has just had her third baby. She's 43 years old. She fell naturally, and was trying for a few months from what I remember her saying... The only fertility problem we have is lack of sperm; everything else can be overcome, and I know that age is a huge factor in fertility but it doesn't mean you're out of the race just yet.
Ive come across something called Fertilty Finance, through Access Fertility. Maybe have a look at that? It's all legit and genuine and things - I don't know why it's not advertised more because it can certainly help a lot of ladies/couples - Just something to have a think about. X

Thanks all. I hope this is the end of my bad luck streak; they wanted to admit me for IV antibiotics but I said no, I'd try the oral ones first, so they gave me IV last night whilst I was there, and sent me home with the two weeks worth...
The pain is getting worse though and has been really bad all day; I have a scan on Wednesday to check on my ovaries, etc, so will speak to them then. 😖

pickle162 · 30/05/2017 06:19

Line should have got darker if was pregnant(little line that remains will be the little bit of trigger)....going to do one last test in few hours so times are comparable but think we can safely say I'm out this month 😭🤧🤦🏻‍♀️
Well let's see how torturous waiting out a whole cycle is compared to them twot!!

Just want af to come now if hasn't worked so doesn't delay next one!! Wish I didn't have to wait a whole friggin cycle!!!!! Glad I've got the counselling on the 10th

Calz81 · 30/05/2017 08:08

@pickle, when was the iui and when are you supposed to be testing? It's not over yet xx

@pheonix I know how hard that choice must be. If you chose to do ivf and have to cut back things massively it's only a short time, not forever. And the chances of falling pregnant either naturally, iui or ivf are always going to be smaller than we hope but that does not mean it can not happen. I have had 6 iuis and fallen twice. I think that's good going. Take some to think it through and work out what you feel is best for you. Xx

pickle162 · 30/05/2017 08:18

Iui was 15th may, so 14dpiui was yesterday but the line showing is from the injections, shouldn't be getting lighter if wasn't only trigger.
Going to use their test on Friday but only so I can tell them yes I have used it
Friday is officially the test day because that's when trigger should be out my system.
I know it's over, I'm not holding on to any hope. Just want af to come now so move onto to next cycle in beginning of July
Thanks @Calz81 xx

Calz81 · 30/05/2017 08:28

I see. I know it's disheartening that it hasnt worked this time. Sending you hugs x

Munrowalker · 30/05/2017 11:27

@Phoenix I'm so sorry that you have 8th make this decision. Life is so hard. I guess you should take some time to think it over. I suppose I would be always thinking 'what if'.....if I didn't give it a chance
Money isn't everything. You won't be denying your DD a wonderful childhood just coz you can't go on holidays for a while. You need to make a decision that you feel comfortable with and don't let anyone else sway you.
@pickle so sorry it hasn't turned out well for you this time. X

Angliski · 30/05/2017 12:14

@pickle - my test was negative on iui day 14 and positive on day 15/16 so until you bleed properly one can't be sure. Hang tight either way - you will get there!

@phoenix - giving yourself a hard time and being mean to oneself won't change history- I have to tell myself that all the time too and now I am telling you! Be kind! My acupuncturist says stress is the worst anti-preg behaviour so think kindly and talk gently to yourself about it- we are here whatever you decide. X

pickle162 · 30/05/2017 12:33

Thanks anglinski & munro. I am dealing with it by counting myself out and if happens to suddenly change/miracle happens then I can be happy but I'm 99% sure I'm out.
I'd much rather be off work but on the other hand it's really helping for me to be distracted. Otherwise I think I'd just be balling my eyes out all day...which may well do when I get home but I know what the success rates are so just got to keep a focus on that

StorkAhoy · 30/05/2017 13:05

pickle virtual hugs, honey. it isn't over yet, but I get when you feel that it is. I knew both times that it was a no. xxx

Munrowalker · 30/05/2017 13:42

@pickle do u have a link to a reliable source for success rates?
I struggle to find anything that isn't iui based for fertility difficulties....

Angliski · 30/05/2017 13:47

@munrowalker hfea website is most reliable. But my embryologist said to me that whatever the published rates - if you have no known issues - going single or male factor fertility like me that in three rounds most everyone is pregnant.

Pregnant I discover is one thing, keeping it is another.

pickle162 · 30/05/2017 14:04

@Munrowalker my consultant showed me the stats for my clinic and for medicated iui for similar situation is 28% over there last 3years of results
Hfea website otherwise has stuff but doesn't take into account single ladies with no known fertility problems

Bear1980 · 30/05/2017 14:56

Thanks @Karendvm i definitely google too much, just feel like there must be answers out there somewhere. I have cut out caffeine and am eating a high protein diet with plenty of veg so hopefully all the right steps for it to work. I do see a chiro regularly anyway so thats a tick ✅

Aww @PhoenixMama sorry to hear you are struggling, it is all so expensive so I can understand your challenge. Such a difficult decision to know when to stop and when to have 1 more go. I know you went abroad but do you have access to a counsellor through your clinic?

@pickle162 I still hope it's worked for you but understand why you are thinking you are out. Hopefully you will get a jice surprise on Friday if AF doesn't show up before then.

I have got my medication ordered and have mostly managed to adjust my work schedule to fit everything in. Glad I am seeing counsellor tomorrow although not quite sure what to expect. June is my birthday month so hopefully it will be a good one SmileGrin

pickle162 · 30/05/2017 18:20

Good luck bear so jealous you get to start again so soon.
Second line has almost gone now and frer say can test at any time of day
Work has been a massive distraction today which has been fab. Told my boss and she said she'll help me work about next cycle/time off. Just want af to come now and put me out of my misery-it's just delaying things now 😔

kwick · 30/05/2017 18:36

Exactly @Angliski getting pregnant is one thing but keeping it another 😢

@PhoenixMama your decision but if not going for it is something you could regret then go for it!!!
Oh and if donor egg is something you would consider you likely have until 46.

Well I am 100% out- af just arrived, pleased in one hand then 28-30days time I can restart.
Bet this one is going to be a right bitch tho as meds built up lining all thick

CautionHormone · 30/05/2017 19:50

Pickle sorry to hear you're out Flowers why is it you have to wait a cycle in between tries? Allow yourself time lovely.

Scan tomorrow down the hospital to check on everything because of this bloody PID... It's getting worse; the pain is getting more intense and I'm feeling increasingly nauseous and feverish. Will have to talk to them tomorrow. 🙄

Angliski · 30/05/2017 20:06

Ps ladies I am a member of the dcn network- donor conception network- they are fantastic on info, support and community - just a thought for you xxx

Bear1980 · 30/05/2017 20:09

Aww I'm sorry pickle, the wait will give you time to prepare for the next cycle x

pickle162 · 30/05/2017 20:10

Because of the injections, they build up the lining quite a lot, my clinic likes you to have a gap so everything can break down and give your body a rest. I know it's the right thing but if someone said oh you can go for a scan on Thursday and recommence it if be there in a heartbeat

pickle162 · 30/05/2017 20:10

I'm soooo pleased I have the counsellors on the 10th

Persipan · 30/05/2017 21:01

Eeep! Got an outline plan for my upcoming cycle through from my clinic today - meds starting next month and then transfer potentially sometime early August...

pickle162 · 31/05/2017 00:18

Yay persipan how exciting 😁

Karendvm · 31/05/2017 01:34

I am so sorry for the recent bfns. I know how hard it is, this process we are all going through. I have my fingers crossed for everyone.

caution I hope the doctors get you all sorted out. Sounds like a terrible time.

PaisleyBE · 31/05/2017 07:58

Bear, Phoenix and Pickle , virtual hugs for all of you. Flowers
I was so hoping so much that after my absence I will come here and see a plethora of bfp from my cycle buddies.
But we won't let that discourage us, will we?

Sorry for being MIA, but you were on my mind pretty much every day. Finally I've come to term with skipping this cycle, although now that I;m starting to feel the mittelschmerz in my right side, I do feel a twinge of regret. But I'm going away for a week to spend some quality time with my family, so hopefully there won't be much time to dwell. I'm actually thinking when and how to opks and temp. The worst case scenario I'll set a quiet alarm clock for 5am and then I'll go quietly back to bed. I really don't want to lose track of my cycle.
