@Snorkmaiden85 you are an amazeballs lady -you will get there!!
Re: crying - better out than in I say!
I had a complete meltdown on Friday with my mum and her BFF and felt loads better after.

Great picture @TreasureInMyTummy... hope you start feeling movements soon.

@pickle162 so so so exciting!!!

FFS @PhoenixMama that is so frustrating. Do you think your cycle will be cancelled? I am not good on advising on timing @taydex I believe is our resident expert. If the cycle is cancelled they had better not charge - they should work through the weekend especially if you are coming from overseas!
What witch said.

Hello ladies. Sorry, I've not been keeping up to date with the thread. Thanks for the tag @kwick 36 hours is fine. My clinic tried to do IUIs about 48hrs after positive test but I always thought this was too late. I told a little white lie to get my last IUI about 36-40 hrs after peak and this is the one that worked. I'd be tempted to try calling again and also turn up first thing Monday morning. I find the clinics so frustrating at times. Don't they know how important this is to us?

Off to catch up on the thread properly...

taydex · 14/05/2017 11:38

Oh, and the 2 cycles where they cocked up for me I didn't pay for anything other than drugs. Argue it if they've cocked things up for you xx

LRDtheFeministDragon · 14/05/2017 11:59

Oh, phoenix, that's awful! I'd keep calling back in the hope of getting someone else. Clearly they've misunderstood if they said that.

My clinic won't do it on a Sunday. Which is a bit shit, frankly, but they're very clear about it and constantly remind you. It's not on to leave you to deduce that they're not open from a badly-answered phone by someone who doesn't understand your question.

Bear1980 · 14/05/2017 12:07

Well thats the trigger done, nothing to do niw but wait

TreasureInMyTummy · 14/05/2017 12:34

Oh Phoenix so sorry to read your post. I went with taydex advice for my iui so won't repeat with my thoughts. I'm so frustrated for you I can't believe they didn't mention it when you had to come overseas x

PhoenixMama · 14/05/2017 13:05

Hi all. Thanks for all the messages. After freaking out, I went & mediated which really calmed me down. There's nothing I can do today aside from just chill out and enjoy this beautiful day in Copenhagen.

I've decided that I'm just going to rock up there in the morning, take my book & wait till they can see me.

That said, if I feel myself actually ovulate during the day today then I'm going to have to think about cancelling the cycle. Sad

pickle162 · 14/05/2017 14:21

Yay Bear welcome to the trigger club :)

Phoenix glad your feeling a bit better about it all. Will be keeping everything crossed for tomorrow

I'm making the most out of the sunshine, really quite lovely in my back garden, nice breeze, my book-new suncream to try out and prob a snooze. Worn out from shopping and 1.30am injection so lazy afternoon hear I come

Snork how you feeling now?

pickle162 · 14/05/2017 14:25

Bliss ☀️

witchmountain · 14/05/2017 16:11

That looks like bliss pickle!

Stork, I meant to ask earlier, what are your thoughts on one versus two? Not had to think about that yet so don't know all the pros and cons.

Pez82 · 14/05/2017 17:10

On the question of 1 versus 2, my understanding is that below a certain age (40?) they wouldn't recommend transferring 2 or more blastocysts. Success rates with blastocyst transfer are really high so they don't want to risk multiple pregnancies which carry a higher risk.
However in the situation where the embryos cannot be taken to blastocyst stage (often due to low numbers) then they offer to transfer several embryos. As far as I understand they no longer freeze embryos at day 3, so to give them the best of chance of survival they have to be put back in. Some clinics still don't have the facilities to develop embryos to day 5 (as the embryos need to be transferred into a different medium on day 3) so they would still give the option of multiple embryo transfer.

I had read a lot about it and in the end I wasn't even offered the option of transferring 2. They were like we're transferring this one today and freezing that other one, full stop.

Eggs fertilised with ICSI have more chances of splitting which is another reason clinics aren't too keen on multiple transfer.

It is a case by case situation really...

PaisleyBE · 14/05/2017 18:00

Phoenix , I'm so sorry for the situation. I hope that you won't have to forgo this cycle. They will do the ultrasound tomorrow morning at least, won't they? This whole timing issue is so complex and unpredictable.

Bear and Pickle , fingers crossed for tomorrow!!! I hope that you'll keep us updated. Smile

pickle162 · 14/05/2017 18:31

Of course I will paisley probably from the time I get up, in true pickle fashion 😁
19 hours to go eeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkk

Bear1980 · 14/05/2017 18:40

Thanks paisley will def post updates tomorrow, don't really feel anything are the trigger so doesn't quite seem real that it's happening tomorrow 😬

pickle162 · 14/05/2017 18:54

Me either @Bear1980 don't feel anything apart from the waves of excitement that go through my body and the bruise on my tummy from the injection, absolutely nada

StorkAhoy · 14/05/2017 20:16

Hi guys.

So pez lots of what you said is similar to my understanding. However in my experience, there are grey areas namely embryo quality and your history.

So I'm 38.
My first ivf, I had one blastocyst put back, but they offered me the option of two. This is because it depends on the grades of the embryos, mine were 2:1 and 2:2. I chose to have 1 put back. Bfn.

Second ivf, two got to day three, again I was offered the option of having both put back, which I did. Bfn.

The third I'm doing, I've already discussed it with CRGW and even though they are devout followers of the single embryo transfer process, they are suggesting 2 given my history of failed implantation.

I'm just wobbling due to the finances. Fact is if I have one put back and it doesn't work, given this is my decided last go with my eggs, I may well kick myself!

And of course it all comes down to transfer day and embryo quality, god willing I have lots of blastocysts to choose from and freeze!

Tough decisions ladies.

pheonix what a mare! Any news?

CautionHormone · 14/05/2017 20:36

Sorry I've been awol ladies... It was my birthday Friday, and my best friend drove down from Wales to surprise me - I haven't seen her for five years!!! So she's gone home now so can catch up with the thread properly.

Stork - maybe see what grade the embryo is when it comes to crunch time? And make an informed decision then? Or just take the plunge and do two, because like you said, you'd always have the "what if" I guess...

Pickle and Bear - good luck for tomorrow!!
Pickle you must be so excited... After eighteen months, you're so nearly there!!

Phoenix I'm sorry your clinic aren't being great Sad everything will work it's way out, you'll see Flowers good luck!

Treasure & Cherry - they're amazing scan photos 😍 You both must be over the moon that they're happy in there x

pickle162 · 14/05/2017 20:51

Oh caution I'm so so sorry I missed saying happy birthday, Friday I was a nervous wreck and was exhausted & forgot and I totally didn't mean to. I hope you had a lovely day and got spoilt rotten. Happy belated birthday x
Yes very excited, trying to keep it out my mind until tomorrow otherwise it'll affect my tummy** BUT ITS FINALLY HERE AFTER SOOOOOOOOOO MANY MONTHS
So pleased to be sharing my iui day with bear and Phoenix doesn't feel like I'm so alone knowing they are going through the same

Stork hopefully the decision will be easier when you know what grade the embryos are and I'm sure you'll lovely clinic will give you the best advise they can when the time comes :)

pickle162 · 14/05/2017 20:52

Stupid bold things doing funny things, sorry

kwick · 14/05/2017 21:13

Happy (belated) Birthday caution 🍾🎊🎁🎉

Hang in there @PhoenixMama glad meditation gave you some peace

OP posts:
Pez82 · 14/05/2017 21:22

Happy birthday Caution!!

Stork, you're totally right, at the end of the day it is a very personal decision. And it also depends if any of the embryos are good enough to be frozen. It's so so tough. Mine were graded differently (number for expansion followed by a grade for baby cells and one for placenta cells - mini Pez is the result of a 4BB)

Best of luck tomorrow Phoenix, Pickle, and Bear!!! I don't think we've ever had so many IUIs on one day! I hope nothing causes any more stress and make sure you relax after the procedure. It's so nice the 3 of you are running together

Paisley, hope the TWOT isn't dragging too much for you

And hoping/treasure, amazing picture! I have booked a sneaky scan for next Friday before I go on holiday. I will be 9+3 then so depending on the outcome I can announce (or not) to the wider family next week when I visit.

StorkAhoy · 14/05/2017 21:40

Hear hear! Best of luck ladies!!!

And happy belated bday caution

It's a tough one ladies, and I know I kind of need to have a gut feeling before the day as transfer day is emotional and stressful enough without making a decision like that. Gut feeling currently is two. No idea how to finance that choice though!

pickle162 · 15/05/2017 08:13

8th September 2015 I decided that this was the path I was going to go down,87 weeks and 6 days here I am 😀🤗🎉🎊
