Wow LRD you are killing it! Way to go! So glad it was all positive in the end and now bring on being cycle buddies!

Lovely to hear from you Hopeful so glad you're enjoying mummahood!

Snorkmaiden85 · 09/05/2017 13:57

Hi all! So great to catch up on the thread and read lots of positive things!

stork great that you liked the clinic!!

paisley Also great that your IUI was such a positive experience, that's so nice (and reassuring!) to read! Glad everything went smoothly, hope tww going ok so far and you're tolerating the pineapple. I eat pineapple everyday anyway cus I love it :)

kwick SO pleased to read that your IVI appointment went well and all sounding positive. IVI sounds excellent! I second checking out the Donor Conception Network, I've found them a very useful resource. Sounds like things can start to move forward for you again which is fab :)

LRD sounds like you had a full on day yesterday! But great to get all that ticked off, fingers crossed that you can start ASAP! Great that you can use the same donor as your dp too :)

Welcome back caution!! Have been thinking of you. Hope you're recovering well and over the worst pain wise, you deffo deserve a break!

Hello everyone else. All plodding OK here, just impatient to have my pre op consultation as want to know when the laparoscopy will be so I can feel in control again! But the consultation is 2 weeks tomorrow so at least it's not TOO long to wait. Thanks also for all motility advice! I have now majorly crossed my Donor barrier and am well into reading all the profiles - new hobby :D totally changed my tune about not wanting to know details!!

PaisleyBE · 09/05/2017 14:22

Kwick and LRD , I'm so glad that your yesterday was also so fruitful. Every time I had some kind of an appointment, it always made me feel a step closer to the goal. Plus when you get answers your your questions and the other side is supporting and understanding, that's even better.

Thank you for the advice re pineapple. I ate one fifth yesterday and one today. I'll see about tomorrow, cause it gives me really strange (and not pleasant) stomach cramps.
Trying to keep my mind occupied (it's a day off at my work today), I went for a walk and now I baked. I think I'll go and take half of it to my friend. Just to get out of the house. Smile

LRDtheFeministDragon · 09/05/2017 16:34

Grr. Except, now the clinic has failed to answer its phones for three hours, and when I finally got in touch, they said the doctor isn't in today and she needs to 'review' the NHS scan before confirming treatment. Hmm

Which they could have bothered to mention before.

This cycle still not out of the question as it'd be starting injections on Thursday, but I am feeling a bit stressed.

Sorry, very me me me in the last couple of posts. Blush snork, I can relate to your impatience! Waiting and uncertainty are horrible. hoping - how old is your little one? Can't be more than couple of months older than DD (6 weeks).

Pez82 · 09/05/2017 16:43

Paisley, if Shoes was around she would say in much wiser words to stop eating the pineapple if you aren't enjoying it, especially if your stomach isn't tolerating it well. The pineapple trick is what it is, a trick, and there is no scientific rule that proves it works. A lot of fresh ginger tea or chopped ginger in stir frys is also a good way of increasing blood flow to the womb and is a natural anti inflammatory so you could try this instead. And it means you'll be used to having it by the time you desperately need it for morning sickness 😊.
Don't make yourself sick with the pineapple 😉

Also be careful if you're taking baby aspirin at the same time as pineapple is also a blood thinner. I only started baby aspirin after I'd finished my pineapple

Pez82 · 09/05/2017 16:44

Sorry I hope I didn't sound terribly patronising in my post below!!

LRDtheFeministDragon · 09/05/2017 17:14

I'm taking notes here about the ginger!

pickle162 · 09/05/2017 18:13

I love pineapple and ginger.... do you think it works if the pineapple is baked? I love cooked pineapple 🍍 going to get my 🥝 and 🍍 and maybe some ginger biscuits when next out 😁
LRD it's sooooo hard when your ready to go and there are hold ups, found that so bloomin frustrating. Just keep swimming, you'll get through :)

So scan time again tomorrow morning, REALLY hoping my body is playing ball! Fingers and toes crossed

pickle162 · 09/05/2017 18:14

Snork hope things come round quickly. Just keep yourself busy and distracted and hopefully it won't feel tooooo long!

Hopeful25 · 09/05/2017 18:28

Paisley I'm with pez on this one. When I was about to start the second iui I was on here bemoaning the fact I would have to try and stomach the pineapple again and I'm sure it was shoes who said to me I didn't have to eat it. I didn't and I conceived so if it making you feel not well please don't worry - not eating it won't mean you won't get pregnant.

Lrd I think you might be mixing me up with another hoping who was on this thread before me and got pregnant. I'm only 12 weeks so abit to go :) x

Hopeful25 · 09/05/2017 18:29

Lrd sorry to hear about your delay - fingers crossed can resolve for Thursday x

pickle162 · 09/05/2017 18:30

Yeh hoping was on earlier, I thought your name had changed again lol. Have you had your 12week scan yet?

Lrd. Sorry it's me again. I see hopingand waiting has posted recently and so your question was aimed for her ( sorry!) x

Hopeful25 · 09/05/2017 18:34

Hi pickle 👋🏻 I think I'm losing my mind today sorry for all the messages on the thread ! Yeah I still don't know how my name changed from hopingforalittleone to hopeful25 - bit odd as old name meant something to me. I wish MN had changed it to something different from hopeful so I wouldn't get confused.

I'm well, I have my scan on Thursday and praying for nausea to go away soon.

How you doing? Xxxxx

StorkAhoy · 09/05/2017 18:51

Sorry to add, and certainly don't wish to upset anyone, however, I've read a couple of studies about pineapple recently that suggests one shouldn't eat it from the start of tww, till after the 12 wk mark as it (the bromelain) actually causes contractions, so 'could' be detrimental to implantation, rather than aid it as thought originally.

My acupuncturist totally agrees with these studies.

However my meditation group strongly suggest eating it.

I've eaten it during both TWWs, but I'm not going to next time (all part of my doing the opposite of what I did on the previous TWWs to see if I can get a BFP).

So I guess do your research and make your own decision?

Xx

pickle162 · 09/05/2017 19:02

Ooh hoping you should be able to change your name back- if you on the app click on the 3 horizontal lines in right hand corner then follow the pictures attached. I would hate it if it changed my name.
Eeek exciting, best of luck for Thursday, let us know how you get on :) xx
Yeh I'm ok, I'll be better at 8.30am tomorrow when my scan is over and I know more about my little follies! I hope they are doing ok. Trying not to worry about it but just want to know

That's interesting about the pineapple stork, perhaps I won't rush out to buy (prob best to stay away from the shops as I'm craving chocolate and carbs)

Pez , I can totally hear Shoes in your message. Not patronizing at all, it helps to hear a voice of reason from someone in the same situation. I have pretty much decided that I'm done with it, as you said, there are other ways. I totally forgot about ginger, but I did put cayenne pepper on all my meals today.
Hopeful , another great voice of reason, thank you. Gonna throw out the rest of the fruit, great timing - tomorrow is the bio waste collection day anyway. Oh, and fingers crossed for Thursday! I hope that you'll get to hear only good things from the doctor (nurse).

Pickle , fingers crossed for your scan! How many days of injections left? I mean, will you continue with them after the scan?

Gosh, I hope there'll be a lot of work in the office tomorrow, I need a distraction!

Munro , how many days left in your tww? How is it going? Any particular feelings?

pickle162 · 09/05/2017 19:17

So I have suprecur and Menopur tonight then all rides on the scan in the morning, will definitely take the suprecur for a few days more whatever the scan says. If follies aren't quite ripe yet (which they aren't meant to be ready just yet) then will have prob 1 more Menopur on Thursday then rescan on Friday and if ok then iui should be monday. If follies have gone boom then iui could be maybe Friday or Saturday 36hours after the trigger injection. Just want them to be progress nicely without too many big ones or not growing at all.
Just having a nice bath so I can wash hair and shave legs ready for early start in the morning-6.30am set off tomorrow

PaisleyBE · 09/05/2017 19:18

Stork , haha, it seems that it is either/or. Someone should do a proper research in this area - food that has real impact during embrygenesis . Smile
I really think that the "power of pineapple" is mostly psychological. You know, it gives women feeling like they can actually DO something during those 2 weeks. If only eating avocado would be strongly suggested, that I could eat with no objection whatsoever. Grin

PhoenixMama · 09/05/2017 19:56

I always thought the pineapple thing was weird. You're supposed to eat pineapple to bring on labour. Not exactly what we want!

Munrowalker · 09/05/2017 20:33

Sorry everyone I got a bit behind with the post. We have had friends staying with us for 3 days so been hugely busy.
I'm exactly one week into my 2ww. I feel quite positive about this one. I've felt a bit 'full' in my lower belly for a few days...Can't really describe it any other way.
I hope this is a good sign but also worried about pinning too much hope on this cycle.

Loves to everyone!

StorkAhoy · 09/05/2017 20:34

paisley omg you totally can! Avacados are whole-fat food suggested for good egg growth and the tww. It's the only time I eat them as usually I'm on low/no fat! Eat away!

As I said though there are suggestions based on both sides of the pineapple! But I've tried it twice with the eating, so now I'll try with the abstaining!

Oh and for diffuser and oil buffs out there, the essential oil Clary Sage should also be avoided as that too is used during labour to increase contractions.

In other news, my book of the moment is Clemmie Hoopers, how to grow a baby and push it out. Such a good interesting and real read for pregnancy (and those devouring info on pregnancy!). If you don't know her she's a instagrammer, mother of 4 girls and is a midwife.

Hopeful25 · 09/05/2017 20:34

Pickle good luck with scan in the morning and well done on remembering to shave legs! I always forget and then end up apologising at beginning of appointment and then cringing as I look at how long they have got during those silent moments.
Thanks for tip - I'm on mobile and can't see the three dots at moment but maybe because I'm in thread? I'll have a look round when come out of thread.

I agree with power of the pineapple and feeling like you are doing something to increase the odds. I did follow all the other stuff on kwick's list which helped me get through twot ( missed the ginger thing but I only like ginger snap biscuits and I'm not sure they count?! ) xxx

TreasureInMyTummy · 09/05/2017 20:39

Pickle I did it thank you!!

So sorry for confusion but my previous names were HopingForALittleOne and Hopeful25
