Ooh I heard this on the radio when I drove in. It's because it focuses on how people on low income are being offered ivf for free but they have to donate half their eggs....weird spin on it really as anyone can do this however it's not based on your income but whether you would 1)like to do it and 2)you are suitable for it. I had thought about it and thought it was like giving back. Also the women that have egg share pay so much extra to get those eggs, they pretty much are paying for you to have it done.
All taken out of context as usual 🙄

I have made it,thanks for all the good luck wishes.
I've got to leg it back for another appointment at 11 back near home so I will update when I get back there so I know I'm not going to be late for that appointment

@Munrowalker sorry missed you off earlier. Hope all goes well :)

Could do with a little nap now with all the drama feel quite exhausted already

Persipan · 02/05/2017 09:21

Ha! Well, I'm on the train to go to my counselling appointment as an egg share recipient (I have to have it again since I'll be using donor eggs as well as sperm) so I daresay that'll be a marvelous opportunity to discuss my ruthless exploitation of other people's eggs. What gloriously ironic timing! I am probably going to struggle to keep a straight face. I always love it when the Daily Mail hates me. (I just hope it doesn't put the donor off at all, though there's no reason it should; they'll have had counselling too and are, I'm sure, perfectly sensible enough to not be swayed by tabloid shreiking.)

The online comments on that article are great, consisting largely of 'so what?'!

kwick · 02/05/2017 09:56

Yep @Persipan I read the pages and pages of slamming and concluded with "and your point is?".

So totally should have written this when I finished as I can't remember half of what they said....here is what I can remember
I have a retro tilted uterus
I have no cysts or polyps
Lining was 3mm and needed to be less than 4mm to be allowed to start-wahoo
No this is where it gets a bit ropey-I think I had 8 little follies in right ovary and 5 in left ovary....I think!!!
Injections start tonight!!! So happy 😊
Thank you everyone for your support x

PhoenixMama · 02/05/2017 10:53

Good luck Persipan! Whooooohoooo Pickle!

Karendvm · 02/05/2017 11:00

That all sounds great pickle!

Thinking of you pez

PaisleyBE · 02/05/2017 11:19

Hooray for good news, Pickle ! I always go with a list of questions to my consultations and I take notes while my doctor speaks, otherwise I wouldn't remember anything.

Pez thinking of you and that little bean of yours! Hoping for the best.

Already on the pre-LH surge "diet" - had a grapefruit instead of my 10:30 apple and I have a nice full fat yoghurt ready in the fridge for the afternoon.
Any other suggestions for CM-friendly food?

Bear1980 · 02/05/2017 13:17

Thats sounds positive pickle. I feel like AF is on her way so as soon as it arrives I will be off for my basrline scan. Hope it goes as well as yours Smile

Munrowalker · 02/05/2017 13:49

Sounds great @pickle what good news! Glad you can stop worrying for a bit.

@pez hope everything is going well!

I've done my 2+hour journey to the FC, had my iui and now ok train home.
Iui much less sore today. They used a smaller speculum and I worked really hard to stay relaxed.
Unfortunately my progesterone bloods from last iui showed that I hadn't actually ovulated . This is either because I was too early or maybe I need medication. They should have known this much earlier than now but my stupid GP won't communicate properly with the FC.
I think it was maybe too early last month. Certainly explains why I'm 4 days later this month!

pickle162 · 02/05/2017 14:55

Oh Munro thanks a bit of a bugger but at least very good reason why it didn't work. Hopefully this cycle will be perfect and you won't need to do another cycle

witchmountain · 02/05/2017 14:58

Great news Pickle! You've started!!!

Munro glad it went better this time. How annoying about the lack of communication. Not like time is of the essence or anything Hmm

Hope all's well Pez.

Caution, make sure you come and tell us you've survived the anaesthetic again!

Karendvm · 02/05/2017 15:48

munro how many follicles did you have? If you didn't ovulate have they discussed a trigger? That sounds a bit wishy washy to me. I know my dr wouldn't trigger me because I had 3 follicles. Guess I did end up ovulating, but without the trigger I always worried about that step. Of course I think those of us here have gotten pregnant without a trigger. Sorry. This seems like a rambling post. I have my fingers crossed for you. I do think it's better having the spermies waiting for your egg. Flowers

kwick · 02/05/2017 15:53

This is fabulous news pickle!!!!

Well done @Munrowalker - will post my "patent pending" 2ww list especially for you Grin

munro that's so shit. Especially when you're putting yourself through so much to get it done. How crap.

But hopefully today will turn out to be the one. Smile

We've just come back from booking-in at the clinic. DP is all hopeful and I feel a bit deflated, TBH, which is silly. Apparently there's a high risk of multiple births so it's quite likely we'll go through the whole IUI -pre-treatment then keep being told they can't inseminate. So we might end up doing IVF anyway. This is really fine, but I'm frustrated by not knowing.

Pez82 · 02/05/2017 16:49

So mini Pez has a little heart beating strongly inside me 😊😊😊
I still feel it's surreal, I couldn't help crying while still being scanned (internally). The consultant found the little one immediately and I could both see and hear the heartbeat.
I've booked another private scan in 2,5weeks so that my next milestone!

So I'm through to the next round 😁

Munro, fingers crossed this is your month!

There is so much happening on the thread at the moment, lots of TWW coming soon!

Karendvm · 02/05/2017 17:06

Very happy to hear your news pez. That's wonderful.

Bear1980 · 02/05/2017 17:06

Aww pez thats brilliant must be a big relief to see and hear that heartbeat ❤️

munro really bad that they took so long to tell you that but fingers crossed that this is your month.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 02/05/2017 17:15

Oh, yay! How absolutely wonderful. Smile

witchmountain · 02/05/2017 17:18

Oh Pez what a relief! So happy!!

witchmountain · 02/05/2017 17:20

Why is that LRD?

pickle162 · 02/05/2017 17:26

I'm so happy for you pez :) welcome to the thread officially tadpole pez

pickle162 · 02/05/2017 17:30

My scanner was so wonderfully lovely and gentle- I hope I get her again as I was so scared about the scan itself not the results and I just cried then when she did I stuck my hands over my eyes until she showed me the pictures was so cool.
She said that if i do all my injections at 8.45 but on Theatre night it happens to be delayed 10-15 mins that she doesn't want me to worry and panic, that 10-15 will be an acceptable time to alter/delay ....she seems to have a measure of me already lol

Munrowalker · 02/05/2017 17:34

Wow pez that's sooooo good! Can't wait to get to that point and see/hear a heartbeat. How strange and wonderful at the same time ❤

@LRD I don't actually know about my follicles. I've have had the scans and test and nhs wanted me to go unmedicated iui initially. Last month was my first cycle.

I'm feeling much more positive this time so PMA

Also.....the sun is shining!!!! I even managed a post FC stroll on the beach this afternoon
