Hello, I'm a single mum (going through divorce) just wondering if there are any others like me out there that just want to chat in the evening after the kids have gone to bed. I feel very lonely.
Please come and say hi.

In that case frickssake I would choose the fixed term contract as it would offer me more certainty but that's just my opinion. Hope we are all having a nice Thursday evening.

Frickssake, I know the feeling only too well. 2018, are you in the UK?

I had a good night's sleep thanks. The worst is waking up at 3 and not being able to get back. Thankfully that seems to have passed now.

Hello! Haven't posted on this thread before, but I'm a relatively new single mum... what have I missed here then?

westernchampion · 25/01/2019 21:32

I am relatively new single dad. You've not missed anything. Nothing that you can't catch up on anyway.

Hello everyone! I'm a bit late tonight- anyone here?

How are we all and what are we all up to this weekend?

Report
Frickssake · 25/01/2019 22:55

I'll pop back later. Just watching the end of Rhod Gilbert

Anyone? In bed now. Tired. Hopefully we'll all have a good night's sleep.
If not I'll come back on here for the wide awake club ( wasn't there a TV programme or something with that name?).
Anyway sleep well. Goodnight.

I'm also quite a new single dad. Bloody hell we all seem to have something in common.
I'm struggling with my 13 year old daughter at the moment. I just can't get my head round not seeing her very often. Every other weekend and that's if I'm lucky because my stbx is always in the way instead of understanding how important my daughter is to me. She's actually the only thing I have now but we are drifting apart

That's miserable Knocker, can you try the court route for better access? My husband and I split in November (he moved out 2 days before Xmas) but am determined he has a great relationship with DD who is 2, as I never saw my dad much after my parents split, so don't have that father figure that people talk about to rely on. He's having her 2 nights a week for now, see how it goes and maybe increase in a few months.

Does your daughter want to come and see you? If so, if you DO go to court, won't they ask her and even if your ex is being ( how shall I say this ) difficult, make a decision on what your daughter wants?

I've agreed to every other weekend because I work away all week but last weekend when I tried to pick her up at 1730 in the evening to start our weekend together she wasn't ready and so after a big fallout because obviously I was first of all excited to be picking her up then hurt
when her and her mum said could I come back later we didn't even see each other. So I'm down at the moment.
Last night I offered to take her to her swimming lessons because her mum hates it but my daughter said "it's OK mums taking me" only to find out yet again her grandparents took her instead which used to be my regular routine every weekend but myou wife has now stopped that and my daughter is lying and the grandparents are doing my job.

Wish me look you lot still in bed! I'm off for a run. I'll probably be back shortly

I'm a lightweight, I couldn't stay awake last night. To knocker I'd say just be the best dad you can to her. I've got daughter's that live with me and those who don't and when they get older it gets more difficult because sometimes they want to spend time with their friends or they get invited out.

Hi Western
Ha ha which on? The bubba is 10 mths and I have a 3 yr old. Bubba is fast asleep. Fortunately she's a really easy happy baby. Loves a good snooze. Can't believe it's almost lunch time. Are you out somewhere fun today?

Hello everyone. Back from a run. 12 miles completed. Time for a coffee.

Well I've just picked up my new glasses, kids having lunch in Macdonald's, then shopping and home. I'm hoping to look at a new car this afternoon that that will be fun. My youngest are 5&7 but I've been there main career since they were 8 months. Baby smiles are the best I think.

So true. All gummy and natural. The dribble just adds a sparkly glisten effect.
New glasses hey. At least now you can make a spectacle of yourself. My older muppets are forever rolling their eyes at me HmmGrin

Weekly shop done although it never lasts five minutes. When I think about the food quantity I would eat as a child. My bunch eat far far more. Enjoy the MacDonalds.
